Are you bulimic if you throw up your food purposely once a week?

Throwing up your food purposely, whether it be once a week, or after every meal, is definitely an eating disorder, no matter which way you look at it. Although it may seem to be helping you lose weight or tone your figure, it is damaging your body even though it is not truly visible. Every time you vomit, it streigns your stomach, and you create unhealthy acids that come up. So not only are you burning a hole through you stomach, you are rotting your teeth. This will mean, if you keep doing this once a week, within ten years at least, you will have lost a fair amount of teeth, and there is a high chance of death. So although you may look hot right now, think of a teethless, woman/man looking 60 in her/his thirties, in her/his death bed wishing you had only learned to love your body, instead of wasting it because tabloids say you have to. Everyone has flaws, but has a special unique beauty, that is inimitable. Be proud of your body, and if you can't, I would suggest seeking help. Unfortunately, that's how it starts. It's a good idea to get some help before it goes too far.

My friend has a severe eating disorder. She throws up her food 2-3 times a day She has been doing this for the an year. Has lost a lot of weight. Says she can't control the vomiting. What do i do?

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I think the best thing to do is to try and show her how to eat healthy first. She would probably want a point of view from one of her friends rather than an adult. If things are not turning out to be any better, then you really need to contact an adult. The problem with this is that she may feel like you have betrayed her. If you two are truly friends, she'll see that you did it for her own benefit. 2-3 times a day for a year is a lot. It can be very dangerous and this is putting her life in danger. And trust me, I'm a teenager too so I know what it's like. Good luck, and if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here!

Charming I know, although I'm not perturbed by it really.

I just started taking a product called "WYLD for Women". It contains b vitamins, iron and Siberian and Korean ginseng and a few other things. I've found it great.

I'm a women and a vegetarian(doesn't mean I have a super healhthy diet) who doesn't really like tofu.

I had been having rather bad back and neck strain and pain. I always had tension in my body. Every morning I woke up sore. Since taking this supplement the pain and discomfort has gone. It was all muscular. I thought I was becoming the hunchback of Notre Dame.

Quite amazing. Well not really I knew I was deficent in a lot of key nutrients. I read that lack of iron can also cause excessive production of or over oxidation of lactic acid(something like that). Lactic acid being the thing that makes you feel sore after exercise. I think that was my problem.

Literally the day after I started taking the supplement I didn't feel the muscle fatigue and pain. Great, I'm now going to get some spirulina.

i think its like a drug in some what why which makes the brain crave for more and more and more like smoking and probz really hard to break lose off it they really should invent a medicine to stop things like tht and caffeine

How am I gaining weight from being Bulimic I'm throwing up everything i eat yet I'm gaining weight. Help?

The problem with bulemia is that you take in (normal cases of bingeing and purging) about 20,000 calories and when you throw up you are only expelling half of those calories which would be about 10,000 calories which is about 7-8,000 more than you need. If you are looking to lose weight I suggest a vegan/vegetarian diet you will feel healthier as well as look healthy(on the skinny side of healthy). I have been a vegan for over a year now (i am 17 and plan on being a nutritionist/dietician) and I lost about 10 pounds in 4 months, which, considering I only weighed roughly 120 pounds is quite a bit of weight to lose that quickly while still eating normal meals. If you are throwing up because you are in pain (mentally/emotionally) you should find someone to talk to (if you would like to talk to me or ask me some questions my E-mail is feruslovessophie@hotmail.com) I went through something like that my sophmore year of high school and I was later diagnosed with Bi-Polar depression after being hospitilized twice. I went a type of bulimic/anorexic episodes and cut myself so if this is the reason for you vomiting I just want you to know that you are better off talking to your docter to see if he/she will put you on medication and seeing a counsler. If seeing a counsler is out of the question for you then E-mail me; I have read many psychology books and put what I've learned into practice. If not then I hope you will do well to clear up this problem (by the way if you want to E-mail for whatever reason that is fine too)

your body will start digesting calories as soon as you swallow. you're also retaining water, which could explain the weight gain. if you're not getting everything out of your body then you're not doing any justice

How do you die from bulimia?

The periods of starvation are hard enough on the body to begin with, but coupled with the fact that the person is vomiting their food up again it creates more wear and tear on the body. When a person (anybody) vomits they bring up hydrochloric acid from their stomach when this is done habitually and with regularity (for weeks or more), the lining of the esophagus begins to tear and will eventually cause internal bleeding. If a person is binging by way of laxatives then they might go overboard and end up dehydrating themselves to the point where they need medical attention due to other things in the body going wrong from lack of the proper fluids. People who have eating disorders will try and keep it discrete for as long as possible so they would not go to the doctor unless they had an extraordinary excuse (to cover what is really going on) or unless they suddenly had a change of heart and decided to save their life.

What do five days without eating do to your body?

Your body will feel weak and you will feel pain almost everywhere. Please don't starve yourself, it's not good. I did it once when I was 16 and I almost died. Don't make you same mistake I made. If you want to lose weight do it the old - fashioned way with daily exercise and a healthy diet.
