That's really bad. Your body will be in starvation mode so when you start eating a bigger amount it'll stay in your body instead of digesting it and you'll gain weight again. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water. Really good exercises to do is ride a bike jump rope, jumping jacks, running, jogging and running. I think you should measure yourself and go my measurements because when you workout your gonna gain muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. I'm also 15 and by eating right and just walking up and down hills for 30minute to an hour my pants got lose in 2-4 weeks but i wasn't trying that much. but right now i still wanna lose 2 pant sizes in 1 month its gonna be really hard but if you want it really bad and you work hard you'll get there.
Is a death caused by anorexia recorded as a suicide?
Yes it would be classed as a suicide as it is thought to be self-inflicted. On an actual death certificate, we would not list it as a suicide. The physician filling out the form would most likely state whatever the complication from anorexia was that caused death, such as cardiac arrest, cardiopulomnary arrest, etc. The death certificate, at least in America, is how deaths are "recorded," so that's what I'm assuming you are asking. Hope this helps! Dr. B.

How does bulimia effect the kidneys?
Bulimia can cause Kidney Disorders from the overdoses of Laxatives
bulimia nervosa isn't a weight catergory. you can be 235lbs and be diagnosed with bulimia... its a mental thinng that has physical symptoms. Its not just about throwing up. its the thoughts running through your head whilst your at it. anyone could eat a dinner and then immitate ones behaviour and be sick. that's not bulimic . a bulimic purges because of an intense fear of gaining weight and a persistant dream of losing weight. when eaten a bulimic feels an overwhelming feeling of guilt inside that he/she cannot cope with and desposes of it by actions on the outside ( purging).
bulimia is not an affective weight loss method or fad diet it is a illness and dangerous. it is highly addictive and i don't recommend it. i was diagnosed 3 years ago....maybe 4 ... time just flys by when your not really in it....
How can i stop binging and purging?
It really comes down to wanting to stop. There are things you can do to help stop both the binging and purging, as well as feel better about it. * Eat small portions of meals and small snacks at regular intervals. Controlling how much you eat will keep you from binging and the resulting feeling to purge; having a schedule will get your body into the habit of only being hungry at certain times instead of constantly. * If you feel like binging and have eaten recently, force yourself to go somewhere that you can't start a binge. * When you feel like purging, simply sit down and relax. Remind yourself that you don't need to, that it is just a habit and it isn't necessary. It may take a few attempts before you can successfully avoid it. * Think about why you started. Was it really necessary? Did it actually work? * Find something else to do. Go for a run; visit a friend; do the chores. Anything that limits your ability to eat and to think about eating is great for the job. Playing a sport will also help lower your metabolic rate and take away some of the hunger pangs.
What role can hypnotherapy play in the recovery process of a bulimic patient?
Hypnotherapy may help resolve unconscious issues that contribute to bulimic behavior.
Does making yourself vomit make you unhealthy?
Yes, it's called bulimia. The effects can be very serious and life threatening. Erosion of the esophagus from the stomach acids can cause bleeding or Barrett's Esophagus, a pre-cancerous condition. The acids also can damage your teeth. A bulimic woman can drop enough weight that her menstrual cycles stop. The variations from binge and purge activities can cause the metabolism to make wide swings, eventually causing slowed metabolism that can add weight and that compounds the problem. Bulimia can affect more than just the digestive system, it will injure the hair, nails and skin when the nutrients required are not provided. Vomiting frequently also can result in very low levels of potassium which can cause heart stoppage or heart irregularities or other serious heart regulation problems.
Don't do it- Laxatives are an evil trap-- They make you crazy and all you do is poop and run to the scale - Then you can drink water and the scale goes up- Trust me I suffrered for over 15 years-- http://www.healthkicker.com/banthescale
What would be some health related problems for blind people?
They may have a hard time walking around, in a new place. It depends on the cause of their blindness. Diabetes can cause blindness, and that has many health issues associated with it, including bone infections, nerve damage, kidney failure, even coma and death. But if they're just blind - well, its not so much that they're blind, it's the complications. They can't see so they might not know if something hurt them really badly or just caused some pain but did no damage. They can trip, they can be attacked and not have warning, they can get infections and not realize. They have a hard time getting a job and getting money, so they might not be able to afford stuff and might get depressed. They can feel lonely and sad and left out because the whole world is moving on and they're stuck someplace dark. Blindness is freakin' scary - try moving around your house with your eyes covered and see, or try moving around outside with your eyes closed - you'd better have someone watching out for you or you could get seriously hurt. Now do that all day every day. Sucks.
What is typical health risks for people with bulimia?
The stomach acid is so strong, it can burn a hole in a rug. It can do the same to the esophagus as the chyme comes up and out of the stomach.
How much does a bulimic throw up each time?
They will throw up until there's nothing left to throw up.
Added:
The initial answer wasn't wrong but it can vary, some bulimics will throw up until they are satisfied with the amount they throw up.
Science conscious bulimics know that your body needs a certain amount of intake for the body to properly function and not go into (basically) hibernation. So if they consume 2000 calories and they know that the body needs less than that (I'm not doing all the math for you), they'll throw up the excess amount.
But to answer the initial question to the best of my personal ability, I can vomit 30-40oz in about a minute without a problem.
What are some social effects of bulimia?
I pretty much stay in my house because I'm afraid to go out because so many social situations involve food... Food/calories/weight are constantly on my mind so it's hard for me to carry on a regular conversation about anything else. Most of my relationship are disintegrating.
Can your body fully recover from bulimia including problems in the future?
Only if you're extremely lucky
Why are parents of a child who is anorexic not aware of what is happening?
I hope that you are not wanting to do this yourself. I am a recovering anorexic, and because of this I have heart problems and teeth problems. The acid in my stomach would come up my throat and would burn it as well as take the enamel off of my teeth. I have had to have two of my teeth fixed because of this, they each cost me $1,000. Pretty expensive. Also I had gastroesopical reflux disease, and it had to be treated with "the purple pill." My pelvic bone is now narrow and I might not get to deliver babies vaginally because my bones did not have the proper nutrients they needed to grow. How I became anoreix is I would hardly eat anything at all. If I did eat, I would go to my room and start to jog in place. My Mom finally found out and she told me that if I did not start to eat that she would put me in a hospital. So I began to eat again. I am glad that I did too!:)
AnswerThe parents most likely aren't area of their anorexic child because most people with eating dosorders are very secretive and do their upmost to hide their problem from family members, friends and acquaintances. AnswerDenyal is an anorexic/bulimic person's greatest tool. Number one the family is most likely not functional so issues like "why is my child not eating" wouldn't be addressed. Also, parents don't know what to do. The child doesn't know how to tell them to help and doesn't want the parents to get them help. So parents deny it until it's too late. The assume it will go away, just a diet, a phase. Until it's too late. It's not that they are unaware it's that they have no clue what to do. That's why talking about it is so helpful. AnswerParents can't watch the child every moment of the day. In most cases the child is a full time student with activities such as sports and part time jobs. The parent can't make sure the child is eating while they are at school/work. Often dinner at home is not enough to maintain a healthy weight so the clild will lose weight even when they eat with the family once a day. Often they hide weight loss with clothing, excuses, or telling their parents they are not sure why they have lost weight.Answer
Parents don't have to require over-whelming information for bringing their children up. But awareness of child activities and health should be taken into consideration. Parents who are aware of the unusual changing in child and his/her health, can bring it to their attention and take responsive measures.
Answerbecause Parent's are indenile about their children. They have a vision of their child growing old with somebody they love and going to college and haveing children. That's a perfect life and it's not going to happen but parent's only expect the best of their child which doesn't include them having an eating dissorder. So their child gets an eating dissorder and they completely block it out until it worsensYou dont know whever you should starve yourself or no?
never starve yourself! that is completely unhealthy! if you want to lose weight talk to your doctor.
There is a lot of conflicting information regarding the best way to lose weight, especially regarding food diets. A recent study compared the different diets and ultimately revealed that there is no significant difference in their efficacy for weight loss. Furthermore, it is recommended to lose weight gradually because rapid weight loss was a risk factor for more rapid and important weight regain.
This notion has been challenged by a study that compared the two approaches and demonstrated that the rate of weight loss has no influence on weight regain. Ultimately, the key is to develop strategies that are best suited to the patient, so that he can adhere more easily and maintain his efforts in the long run.

Does a bulimic only drink water?
Yes, people with anorexia eat, but they limit calories, and as a recovering anorexic, I use to only eat once a day, one food item and then fast for 24 hours before I'd eat again. Anorexics are very much in their head and plan and devise things before; counting calories and deficiencies. Too many people think anorexia is about just 'loosing weight', but the truth is its all physiological. People with anorexia can often try to hydrate themselves to get rid of water weight, and this often (in my case anyway) leads to a potassium deficiency, because every time you go to the bathroom you lose potassium.
I was anorexic last year and I ate very little. I used to eat nothing for breakfast, maybe half a sandwich at lunch which contained no butter and just a little bit of lettuce. For dinner I would have whatever my mum made but would throw nearly all of it away after taking a few little bites without her knowing as she would watch TV in the living room whilst I was in the kitchen. As it continued I gradually decreased what I ate and soon only nibble TINY amounts throughout the day.. consuming not even 100 calories. When I was anorexic, I went down to 70 pounds from around 120.
I have suffered anorexia for years and at my worst point before I got taken to hospital, I survived on chewing gum and coffee not much else, I was close to death. In studies of people with anorexia nervosa approximately half of those in in-patient wards (like the hospital described) were found to have histories of sexual abuse. This doesn't account for anorexics who do not attend psych wards for their illness, as those with histories of sexual abuse tend to have more serious psychological symptoms and other illnesses, and therefore are more likely to be hospitalized. Anyway, yes, anorexics eat, but very very little. They tend to avoid eating in front of others if possible, and break up food to either make it easier to manage, or to make it look like they have eaten more than they actually have.
Does menstruation cease in female anorexics?
it definitely will when the Anorexia gets so severe, the whole body goes into shock, it has no defense against disease and the person will die.
Why is it when you throw up the thing you eat comes out first?
doesn't your stomach heal instestine heal with care and medicine???? Like lungs of ex smokers Do heal Enquiring damage isn't already too Big same with most things expect few things if it is potent enough toxicity to kill
It is very likely and possible. An intense fear of gaining weight and a habit of skipping meals is a common sign of anorexia, and the purging (throwing up) after meals is also a sign of another eating disorder known as bulimia.
Academic bulimia is a collective term for information specifically learned and memorized on test day in order to be purged and never remembered again from that moment on.
Do you capitalize the word bulimia in a sentence?
Yes it is the name of a disease (proper Noun) which means it must be capitalized
