What are the charateristices of bulimia nervosa?
Usually the people that develop bulimia are people that are used to throwing up and going to the bathroom( which, hopefully, most people are,). They also might have easy access to a lot of pills. Most people who get bulimia aren't very happy with themselves and they think that they have a weird body shape.
What is it called when you make yourself throw up?
Depending on one's behavior other than purging, self-induced vomiting can be a sign of bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa (purging subtype), or eating disorder not otherwise specified (ed-nos). The DSM V may also include a new eating disorder called Purging Disorder.

Why is it whenever you smell something or eat something you feel like throwing up?
Chronic nausea can result from several medical conditions, some much more serious than others.
These include gastric reflux, ulcers, inner ear disorders, migraines, metabolic disorders, and chronic anxiety.
Your doctor can usually rule out many of these with simple examinations (e.g. of the digestive system). Nervous disorders, stress and anxiety causes may be harder to diagnose.
Coming from experience. You first have to come to terms and realize what you are doing is wrong. You are only hurting your body sweety. Bulimia can cause problems, too many to name and for one even prevent you from one day having children. It causes more harm than good. You yourself need to stop and realize that you want to live and lead a healthy life, and that you are BEAUTIFUL and NOTHING is WRONG with you. If you have confidence in your self, people see that and admire that. To get rid of the pooch.....proper diet and exercise....that does not mean starving yourself. Just eat what is right, and avoid fast foods, grease, and too much sodium intake because it will make your body retain water. Your body will thank you and you will see the right changes! There is nothing better than someone like the above poster who has gone through this and offers good advice. I just wanted to add that "Weight Watchers" is an excellent place to starts. It's more about corrective eating habits than diet and you will end up the weight you should be. Yes, you will lose weight if you are truly over-weight. You need not tell them anything confidential about yourself. They may ask you what weakness' you have such as snacking between meals, a desire for sweets (especially chocolate) but as far as your Bulimia it is no one else's business unless you choose to make it their business. Weight Watchers (no I don't work for them, but have gone to them) has a great support system. Good luck hon
How many days can you go without water?
eight days
On average 8 days, but in areas like Death Valley or the Gobi Desert it could only take minutes
if you drink any other liquid, then about 3 days or 4
A human having no water in the desert and a human having no water anywhere else is no different but a human can survive without water for about maximum 3 days though they can survive without food ( still drinking fluids, water, juice, milk ect.) can survive for a bitt over a week maximum. The reason our bodies need more water than food is because our body is made up of approximately 75% of water, it is the mane thing making up human blood and is needed to hydrate the skin at the least and vital organs like the liver, stomach and kidney at the most.
Depending on the cercumstances 3 days +/-
It depends on how hot it is, but an average person would survive 2 to 3 days without water. Water is incredibly important to the human body. If you were on a desert island, and someone offered you a bunch of food or a bunch of water, you should definitely go with the water. Your body is over 50% water, and you should drink at least two or three big cups of it a day. Water helps regulate your body temperature, carries energy, and helps expel waste. Don't leave home without it!
3 - 4 days
it actually depends on how hot the weather is but the average length of time a person can live without water is about 3-4 days
That may vary depending on the environment; in a hot dry desert he may not last more than a day or two; in a very humid climate you might be able to last up to 7 days at most. Under normal conditions the average is about 3 days.
only a few days, try not to go without water for more than 3 days.

According to one website I found, it has a lot to do with the temperature. At 120 degrees Fahrenheit, no more than 2 days. At 50 degrees Fahrenheit, up to 10 days.
The standard answer, though, is three days.

but , i live in the driest, hottest place in the world and i survived 4 days with no water, including no water within food
about 2 to 3 days but if you do not get enough water and do not eat you will get hydrated and probably live for only a day. but if you eat but dont drink depending on what you are eating you can get some nutriens and minerals from your meal which could keep you alive for about a week.

A few. But it's not safe. A human can go without water for about 6 days before the body shuts-down. However, if the person say is sweating a lot, or crying, or peeing a high amount it could be about 3 days.
You can live to up to 2weeks without water.
A human can survive without water for much less time than without food. About three- four days a human can go without hydrating. This can be longer with some foods that contain water eg. fruit
Why do you throw up when you dont eat?
This is sort of awkward, but it could be because you are constipated. You may have so much you know crap in you that if you eat any more substances you are going to throw up, because your body can not handle any more food.
What increases the risk of someone suffering from anorexia?
Anorexia, defined by a loss of appetite accompanied by weight loss or poor weight gain, usually denotes a VERY SERIOUS psychological disorder. This is such a complex subject matter that I will list the most salient side-effects from anorexia nervosa - * liver failure, renal failure, electrolyte imbalances (sodium and/or potassium may become abnormal in the blood), heart disorder (arrhythmias), and death. The list of complications is much longer but these are some of the most serious. Several famous people have died from anorexia - one person that comes to mind is Karen Carpenter (of the Carpenters' singing group, back in the 1970's). Loss of bone density and resulting risk of fractures. Loss of teeth with receeding gums and foul breath. Sores and breakouts on the skin, and even loss of hair. Kidney and liver failure are also common, as well as permanent damage to the internal organs and systems. The body can go into menapause very early and prevent a female from having children. All of these make the person susceptible to illness and diseases of all types, many of which can be fatal. And the person looks really, really ugly, just skin and bones, hollow eyes and knobby joints.

What type of food should you eat if you're throwing up?
After you throw up you should eat saltines, apple sauce, or ginger ale. The ginger in ginger ale will sooth your stomach. After throwing up you should not eat anything big or that has a lot of acid like regular soda or pine apple.
Actually, you can be born with an eating disorder. It is statistically shown that almost 95% of women are prone to developing an eating disorder, but some may be born with a chemical imbalance, causing an eating disorder.
What are some of the health problems that can result from anorexia and bulimia?
Stomach ulcers, inflamation or even ruptures in the esophagus, chronic irregular bowel movements(Laxative abuse), dehydration, tooth decay, anemia, sore throats, swelling of the salivary glands and death. I'm sure there are more.
Is it considered bulimia if you usually throw up large meals?
Never. What you're doing is called "purging" and it is EXTREMELY unhealthy. Please talk to a doctor as soon as possible because this is a condition that can eventually result in serious illness.
Why is there often a delay in a bulimic getting medical help?
But because the bulimic may deny there is a problem, getting medical help is often delayed.
Signs and Symptoms of Bulimia?
Bulimia Symptoms and Bulimia Signs can be divided into behavioral and physiological signs and symptoms.
Behavioral Bulimia Symptoms and Signs
* A close association between a patient's body weight and how she feels about herself (i.e. self-esteem etc); *
* A history of unsuccessful dieting attempts, which may include the excessive use or medication abuse of laxatives or ipecac; *
* A past history of anorexia nervosa (AN) *
* Some degree of distorted thinking - body dismorphic disorder, i.e. they say they feel fat or overweight despite visible evidence to the contrary; *
Physiological Bulimia Symptoms and Signs
Physical bulimia symptoms are not the most reliable indicators of the disorder. However, they can include:
* Frequent fluctuation in weight, or a visible absence of any fat beneath the skin. *
* Hypothermia (low body temperature), hypotension (low blood pressure) or bradycardia (slowed heart rate). *
* Dental erosion. It may be possible to see damage to the teeth's enamel from frequent vomiting. Dental filings however are not as susceptible to regurgitated stomach acids and can sometimes protrude above the row of teeth. *
* "Russell's sign": Bruising, calluses, or scars on the fingers from reaching down one's throat to induce vomiting and making contact with the incisors. However, often sufferers can achieve a 'handsfree purge' in which they can induce vomiting without the need to gag. *
* Others abuse ipecac, and if they do they can show signs of what's called 'proximal muscle atrophy.' Abusing ipecac leads to frequent vomiting, which can weaken the muscles located around the trunk of the body, the proximal muscles. The symptom can be seen in a slightly lumbering gait. Ipecac-induced toxicity is not uncommon in people with eating disorders, and its consequences can in some instances be fatal .
Both behavioral and physicial bulimia symptoms and bulimia signs should be taken very seriously and medical care should be a priority.
Having Bulimia is defined by 'Binging and purging'. This may also be intergrated within anorexia.
But within anorexia it may happen alot less than someone with just bulimia nervosa as they will binge when they get extremely hungry and then throw it back up to obviously purge themselves of the calories,
Spotting if someone has bulimia is tricky! They can have it and still maintain their weight/physique!
Usually though, they will lose weight, their nails will become brittle and not very nice looking, hair loss may occur, have an abnormal amount of tooth cavities (due to the corrosive stomach acid brushing the teeth), but also many other effects on the body happen!
But it does't just occur when someone is concerned with their weight, but to feel in control.
For more info there are many sights on the web that can help!!
Hope this helps?
Movie saw keira knightley die from bulimia?

Does bulimia cause muscle loss?
yes it does. Muscles are made through workouts (and other things) and are maintained with protien. Since you are throwing up all that you eat, you dont get ant protien, calicum, vitamins, ETC. therefore, you lose all muscle and your bones grow week
How long do you have to wait after eating to throw up?
It is not normal to throw up after eating, and one should definitely not want to throw up purposively after eating. The nutrition in food usually needs at least 12-24 hours to be fully digested. If you want to intentionally throw up after eating, you likely have an eating disorder or a digestive disorder.
What is the difference between the two types of bulimia nervosa?
There are two types of bulimia nervosa, namely purging and non-purging types.
Purging type is where bulimics binge-eat and then regularly engage in self-inducedvomitingor use laxatives and/or diuretics and/or enemas.
Non-purging bulimics binge-eat and then try to compensate by fasting or exercising excessively.
How much weight can you lose if you run 10 minutes per day for two weeks?
It depends how much you are eating and how hard you are working out. If you are eating enough to maintain your current weight without the workout, then you need to burn off about 3500 extra calories to lose 1 pound (32000 kJ to lose 1 kg). For example, if you are not over-eating and you do step aerobics for an hour a day and you weigh 100kg, you could expect to lose a pound in a little under a week.
How can you get help for an eating disorder?
If you have an eating disorder then you you will need help support and guidance to overcome it. The best place to go for information on local support groups, programs and resources is nationaleatingdisorders.org (Click on the link below to go directly to the site)
You could also develop an outpatient support team with a medical doctor, therapist, and/or dietitian or go to a treatment center. I went to Remuda Ranch and it helped me a lot. There is a website at edreferral.com/ that can help you with searching for treatment in your area. Good luck and I am proud of anyone who is willing to get help for this. It is not an easy battle, but I promise it is worth it.
its hard to get over try with small amounts of food regularly, dont try to over eat and over do yourself, small and regularly...
How the media influnce people with eating disorders?
Well, we look at the stars alot, the bony thin people who seem to look amazing in any clothes they wear. Alot of the stars have been anorexic, take Mary Kate, or some others. This basically screams to us, THIS IS THE WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT! But it really isn't. So much emphasis is on the way that people look that young teenagers are looking up to these people and thinking that they are NORMAL sized when the average size for a UK female is a 16. So these size 0, anorexic are the un-natural ones, not the real, curvy women. In answer to the question, YES the media has a HUGE impact on the eating habits of young people.
Is bulimia nervosa another term for a binge eating disorder?
No. Bulimia it self is a eating disorder, while the symptoms are the same. They both usually starve themselves, but if a bulimic eats one or a few more bites of something, he/she will go and purposefully make themselves vomit.
