Calculus

The branch of mathematics that deals with the study of continuously changing quantities, with the use of limits and the differentiation and integration of functions of one or more variables, is called Calculus. Calculus analyzes aspects of change in processes or systems that can be modeled by functions. The English physicist, Isaac Newton, and the German mathematician, G. W. Leibniz, working independently, developed calculus during the 17th century.

What are the related lessons in basic calculus?

Basic calculus usually starts with limits. After that you continue with derivatives, and eventually you get to do integration.

Why does the equation e(2x)ex plus 2 has only one real solution?

The browser used to post questions on this site is utter rubbish: it will not accept most mathematical symbols and so it is difficult to be sure what the question is. What we can see of the equation is "e(2x)ex plus 2". This is an expression - not an equation - and expressions do not have solutions! However, supposing the equation is e^2x +/- e^x + 2 = 0Then, if you substitute y = e^x you get a quadratic equation in y. Whether the second term of the quadratic is positive or negative, the discriminant is 1 - 8 = -7. So there are no real roots - not one.

Find area of traingle if sides are 5km7km11.4km?

If the three sides of a triangle are a, b and c, then area = SQRT(s*(s-a)*(s-b)*(s-c)), where s = (a+b+c)/2

So in this case

* s = (5 + 7 + 11.4)/2 = 23.4/2 = 11.7

So,

* s - a = 11.7 - 5 = 6.7 * s - b = 11.7 - 7 = 4.7 * s - c = 11.7 - 11.4 = 0.3 Therefore.....

area = SQRT(11.7 * 6.7 * 4.7 * 0.3)

area = SQRT(110.5299)

area = 10.51332012258734

Rounded to 1 decimal place... area = 10.5

Can someone help solve this please Find the area enclosed by the graph of absolute value x plus absolute value y equals 20?

|x|+|y|=20 is same as x- y=20 -x+y=20 x+y=20 -x+y=20 these are adjacent sides of a square consider x+y=20 the intercepts on x and y axes are 20 each so area of triangle=.5*20*20=200 (the square is divided into 4 equal triangles by x and y axes) so the required area=4*200=800 units the idea will become more clear if u just draw a rough figure

I have purchased a pair of boots from uggoffer.com and am worried that the company is not real how can you find out?

my friend got some from there and they are genuine. also the ones from shopping ugg.com are too. _________________________________________________________________________________________ I don't know who answered the above but I received a shabby copy of UGGs from uggoffer and the cost of return which turns out to be China, not Australia, is $47 post office and $150 UPS. There is no return address on the web site, the boots had sloppy stitching and were a full 1/2 inch shorter than my other UGGs which I bought in stores. The dye smelled awful and paypal will not return them because they say they only adjudicate shipping problems, not counterfeit or false advertising. The web site falsley advertises Australian UGG boots, not Chinese knockoffs. I can't wear them because they are too short and the dye will probably run in snow or rain. I'm furious with them and don't know where to report it.
