Calling and Area Codes

The song was covered by southern rock band Black Oak Arkansas. It hit #25 on the pop chart and featured Jim "Dandy" Mangrum and female vocalistRuby Starrtrading off vocals. It was the first single from their 1973 album High on the Hog, Black Oak's most commercially successful album.

In the early-to-mid 2000's, a used car lot called JD Byrider produced a version replacing "Jim Dandy" with "JD" to advertise that they would "rescue" buyers with bad credit.

011 is the prefix used for outbound international calls originating in North America (USA, Canada, and certain nearby islands). However, country code +877 is reserved for a future maritime mobile service, but not yet in service.

1-877 is the beginning of one of several ranges of toll-free numbers in North America (codes 800, 888, 877, 866, and 855).

437 is the new overlay area code for Toronto, Ontario, Canada, joining 416 and 647 in serving the city of Toronto. (The suburbs use 905, 289, and 365.)

No other location in the North American Numbering Plan (USA and Canada, plus 18 island nations and territories in or near the Caribbean) has ever used area code 437.

However, Mexico has an area code 437, serving Tlaltenango, Zacatecas, and nearby areas of northwestern Jalisco state. Other countries may have an area code 437.

Additionally, country code +43 is Austria, and there are numbers beginning with +43 7.

0120 is an incomplete telephone area code in the UK.

Note that, for calls in the opposite direction, you do not drop the trunk prefix 0 from the Italian number. For example, a number in Rome 06 becomes +39 06 or 00 39 06.
