What are the advantages of inflatable canoes?

Mainly storage issues. An inflatable weighs in at about 10-12 kg and packs down to a roll 50 cm long and 30 cm thick. Other advantages may be resistance to crush damages, buoyancy when water filled, perhaps some thermal insulation from the water temperature, but they're all dwarfed by the advantage of a canoe that comes pretty close to being accepted as carry-on luggage.

That trip would be very strenuous and probably not possible for an experienced kayaker in one day. Most likely it has been done, though. The distance from the Florida mainland (near West Palm Beach) to the closest part of the islands is about 70 miles. That is a huge distance.

A person in canoe is only paddling on the left side which direction will the boat go?

Having been canoeing many times I can tell you from experience that it depends on where you are sitting in the boat and what kind of stroke you are using when you paddle.

The simplest answer is that you would expect to go forward and you would tend to veer to the left as you pulled on that side of the boat.

Experienced canoers can steer the boat in either direction or straight ahead by using the appropriate stroke no matter which side they paddle on.

i do not no so tell me now i need it for a project.

<><><><>

Well, they didn't. There is no one aboriginal language, and they were called by different names (and there are different types of canoes).

The early explorers in the Americas dubbed them canoes- actually, canoas- from the Spanish word. So it was Columbus, and not a native group that named them. By the way, in Cherokee, it is called a tsi-yu u-s-ti

Where can one find specifications for Blue Hole Canoes?

River Riders at Harper's Ferry, W. Va., (on line) has Blue Hole canoes, including specs. My friend John Williamson, who now lives near Roanoke, owned and operated the Blue Hole company at Gordonsville, Va. John suffered from cancer that he believed was caused by heating the sheets of material used to form the body of the canoe. He was forced to sell and/or close the company as I recall because of the tremendous cost of the successful treatment by the UVa. Medical Center. I own two boats, manufactured in 1978 and 1984 by the original Sunbright, Tenn. company, I still paddle both and wouldn't trade either for any new canoe made today. Morris Stephenson
