How do you give away a pet mouse?
If its dead you can take it to a landfill. If its alive give it to a animal lover where you can still see it. If you still want it otherwise let it lose.
I don't know if letting it lose is such a good idea. Maybe talk to a veternarian.
Is there anyway to safely fatten your rat up?
I had the same problem 6 months ago with my rat. Our vet at the time had been waiting on a meds shipment, so he gave me an alternative suggestion. A product called Nutri-cal is designed for dogs who are underweight due to finicky eating habits. It is loaded with vitamins, calories and fat grams. You can get it from any pet store, just make sure you only give your rat a very small amount at a time, once a day. My rat was finally getting some weight after about a week and a half. You can also give rats small amounts of dog food- which is tasty, healthy, and high in fat. Also maybe once a week I give mine a french fry, a bit of scrambled egg, or a tiny peanut butter sandwich.(PB has no cholesterol)
What is the intelligence of a rat?
Rats are highly intelligent and some studies have proved that most rats are smarter then Cats. There was one rat that was placed in a eight armed maze with food in each arm. the rat was able to find all the food and not retrace its steps.
Rats have been known to die of hart break after a partner has died. They can also die of shyness.
What is the worst sort of weather for mice and rabbits?
The winter.
About RabbitsCold temperatures are dangerous for rabbits, but wet and windy weather is just as dangerous, even when it isn't cold. Hot temperatures are also very dangerous.Pet rabbits are most comfortable between 50-75F (10-23C). Their homes should always be dry and protected from rain and snow.
Under 50F (10C), rabbits need to be are able to warm up when they need to. For example, provide a shelter protected from breezes where the rabbits can freely go when they get a little chilly, with a "nest" box with dry bedding where they can snuggle and warm up. Under 40F (5C), rabbits needs indoor shelter with artificial heating.
Over 78F (25C), you must make sure the rabbit won't overheat. For example:
- Provide air conditioning
- Chill ceramic or stone tiles in the freezer for the rabbit to lie on
- Freeze a block of ice in a jug and set it down near the rabbit - even if the rabbit doesn't want to lay against it, it will cool the air as it evaporates
- Drape a cold wet towel near the rabbit and aim a fan at the towel - a fan alone doesn't much help rabbits because they don't really sweat, but the fan aimed at the towel will cool the nearby air as the water evaporates
- Mist the rabbit's ears with cold water
- Provide lots of cold water to drink
- Maximize air flow and shade in the area
Should you bathe your mice every once in a while to keep them clean?
This is not necessary, mice spend lots of time grooming themselves and each other. The only time I would consider bathing my mice would be if one of them escaped from the cage and got soiled with something like oil or mud.
Is it bad for baby mice to squeak a lot?
it means that they want milk when they squeak, so heat up kitten food and feed it to them with an eyedropper
This is very an opinion question.
If you ask mine: I think they don't help us in daily life.
But they certainly do indirectly!
For example many products you buy are tested on animals, inclusive rats.
So without them, the scientist have to find out other manners to test their stuff on.
Rats also help people in the cycle of animals.
No. The mouse is perfectly normal. Some times the eyes open at different times. It's all good though
well its an hard question to say but only rat and mice have raybes ( raibes)
Mouse Hunt is a game
My sister plays it a lot
She loves it
so you should play to
its fun
You have two rats of same age then why is one of the rats bigger than the other?
From what I read their differences can be from bone growth, genetic origin, and also from their habits.
I have two pet rats they're sisters, one is always active and is smaller, the other spends a lot more time sleeping and hording food. Other than that hope this helps! Like what is said above, I have two girls and one is smaller and sleeps more, one is larger and more muscular and is more active. It really just depends. Like all humans have different metabolisms and are taller and shorter than eachother, rats are different in size, muscle amounts, etc. too.
What is happening to a mouse if it's ear is bleeding?
I'm not sure...i know I'm not an expert on mice, but, mice are very cute and I'm pretty sure it's bad that the mouses' ear is bleeding.
Which is better a pet hamster or mouse explain why?
Hamster because mice stink and hamster like to play more than mice. If you want a playful pet choose hamster an if you want a pet that will just sit around in the cage then the mouse is for you!
Are white mice more dangerous than brown mice?
Not inherently. They have the same physical characteristics aside from color. The can both bite and scratch you. It should be noted that most white mice that you can purchase have been extremely inbred.
Your mom thinks that pet mice are dirty how do we convince her that they're not dirty?
It's a common misconception that rats and mice are dirty partially because rats were carriers of the bubonic plague in the medieval times.
Anyways, you should think for yourself on this point because having mice in your room can get a bit smelly seeing as they excrete fairly frequently. If you want to have "clean" mice, you'll have to have a fairly large cage so the faeces can be a little bit distributed and the mouse itself won't get dirty, and you'll have to clean it once every two days.
But if you want to convince her let her know that they spend a huge part of the day grooming themselves, biting things off their fur with their fine teeth and using their little hands to wash their faces and every other part of their body, including their tail (which is fun to watch). Tell her you'll clean their cage all the time, and get her to believe that by cleaning other stuff a lot.
They are not as dirty as most people think! Yes, I admit sometimes wild mice have diseases, but they're uncommon, and guess where they usually get their germs from; humans! My mice are very neat and clean, and I've had more than 10 mice over the years. They groom themselves a lot like cats, and they hate sleeping in a dirty cage! In fact, if you only have one or two mice you probably will only need to clean their cage once a week, although you might have to clean it more to convince your mom. Most mice are not housebroken, but I have known some mice that are trained to excrete in in a little box in their cage! I haven't been able to do this since you have to start when you first get them, but I'd recommend perhaps looking up this more, I bet it will help you convince your mom if you tell her you can potty train them! I've often done this simple trick to convince people that mice are actually pretty clean: I take one of my mice and smudge a little mud on their fur, then set them back in their cage and immediately they start grooming and washing the mud off, and don't stop until it's gone. Even if you just wet your hands and ruffle their fur the wrong way they will comb it back into place with their teeth. If you like, show her this article. (Oh, and I have some advice. DONT get one of your mice near water deeper than an inch, I've had once drown before, and when you first get mice they may bite you or other mice, don't worry they will usually get used to you. Sophie, my sweetest, gentlest mouse now, once bit me with all her might and launched savage attacks against the mice. On the other hand, Ghost, a nervous, jumpy, aggressive mouse has fought with other mice but has never bitten a person before. They can be confusing. But once you gain their trust, I mean REALLY gain their trust, it is extremely rare that they will ever bite you again unless poked and pestered a lot. Or you may be extra lucky and get a mouse that just doesn't bite anyone, you or other mice.
Do rats like mirrors in there cage?
