How much food your California kingsnake is 3 months 18 inches long you were told to feed him 1 pinky every week he sometimes acts hungry after about 3-4 days is this the right amount to be feeding him?

Snakes for the most part can go quite sometimes without food usually about a month. I fed mine pinkies the best thing to do is never feed him anything any bigger around than the widest part of his body. If you not sure you can always try a larger mouse snakes are smart and will not force feed themselves something that won't fit.

Do corn snakes grow to their tank?

corn snakes can out grow their tanks. they are not limited to the size of the tank. and when they do grow out, a new tank should be bought. id say about a 20-30 gallon tank is best for corn snakes.

Why is your California corn snake trembling?

There is no such thing as a "California Corn Snake". There are California Kingsnakes, and Corn Snakes.

A snake that is trembling can be caused by many different things, and you should probably have a vet look at it. One possibility is neurological issues, which can be caused by keeping your snake on Cedar shavings for bedding. Snakes don't do well with Cedar.

How often do you feed the California King snake?

It depends on the age of the snake. Young snakes will feed every five to six days, while adults will happily go two to three weeks between meals.

You should remember that in the wild, they'd have to catch their own food - and not all hunting 'expeditions' are successful - meaning they could go a considerable time between feeds.

Will corn snakes eat raw beef?

Absolutely NOT ! Reptiles should only ever be fed on what they would naturally eat ! WHERE would a corn snake get raw beef from !

What do you need to keep a baby corn snake?

Babies need to be fed pinkie mice, and so you'll certainly need a supply of those. Until they grow a bit, neonates can be kept in tupperware boxes with just a paper towel as substrate. They need a water bowl, though they don't soak as much as older snakes so it doesn't have to be huge. They will need a sturdy rock to rub against. This will help them shed. Don't underestimate how strong your snake it- when I say a sturdy rock I mean it. They'll also need a hide box so that they can feel safe. Snakes need to thermoregulate themselves, so one side of the enclosure will need to be warmer than the other. Thte best way to do this is to put a heat pad under half the cage, or place is half on a heating duct. Obviously, your snake will grow, so before you commit to getting a snake you'll need to make sure you can look after an adult corn snake as well as a baby. Your best bet is to buy a book (or ten) on caring for corn snakes. You can never be too well researched.

Is it unhealthy for snakes to shed in pieces?

Well sort of, when a snake has a bad shed its showing signs of bad keeping and having the shed still stuck to it constantly if its shed in pieces will obviously put the snake in a bad mood especially retained eye caps!

The humidity should be a little bit higher than usual for when the snake is in shed (e.g. misting the tank daily) and some sort of rock or bark to rub against to pull it off and no handling unless it is absolutely necessary.

How do you find a corn snake in your home?

If you've 'lost' your corn snake (or more accurately let it escape) - it's probably gone for good ! They can get into much smaller places than you ever could, and will likely have either found a hiding place within your home - OR - it's outside your property most likely surviving by eating local wild rodents.

If you think it's still somewhere inside your home, you can try putting it's usual food inside the vivarium but leave the door open. It MAY come back if it's hungry - but you'll have to keep replacing the food item each day until the snake is hungry again. Depending when it was last fed - this could be a couple of weeks !

How do you get a Corn snake out of a house?

First of all, Thank you for not panicking or killing the snake. Cornsnakes are non-venomous completely harmless snakes but they do have a look-a-like and that is the venomous copper head so make sure that the snake is a cornsnake. Don't worry if you hear rattling because cornsnakes vibrate their tail like a rattlesnake to scare away predators.

Okay, now to get rid of the snake. What you will need is a large stick or a snake pole that has a non-sharp hook on it and a thick pillow case that you can throw away afterwards. If the snake is bunched up in a corner then straighten it's body out with the stick, if the snake is aggressive then use the stick to pick it up, if he is pretty calm then gently pick up his tail and hold it in your hands. Get a friend to hold the pillow case on the ground in front of the snake and he should slither into it. If he is aggressive and you are using the stick to pick him up then shove him into the pillow case and he should slither off of the stick and settle in the pillow case. Make sure that the snake is at the bottom of the pillow case and then tie a knot so he cannot escape. Next relocate him in some nearby woods or at the place where woods and a meadow or field meet. He should just slither into the woods and not bother you.

If you don't feel comfortable getting the snake out your self then call an exterminator to get him in the pillow case for you and then relocate him your self. Good luck!

Can you use sevendust to kill mites off of snakes?

Yes, Sevin is relatively safe to use on snakes. However, I have found the best way to get rid of mites is to place the infected snake in a covered bucket of water for a couple hours while you thoroughly clean out the cage, wash it and replace the bedding. The mites usually drown. May have to be repeated again after a few weeks if the mites return.

Most house pets can be afraid of snakes. However if the snakes are small and are kept in a secluded area then they should be fine. I would suggest you separate your pets just in case.

What are the world's most poisonous snakes?

The worlds most poisoness snakes are either the king cobra or the black mamba.

The kings cobra venom is so toxic and effective, if bit, you can die within 7 minutes.

Its venom acts like keys, to fit your recepeptors in your body. these receptors send signals, and if you get bit by a king cobra, the venom enters your blood stream, and acts like a key. fighting all the other receptors, causing your entire body to shut down. all this can happen in a matter of minutes.

A:

The most venomous snake on earth is the Belcher's Sea Snake (Hydrophis Belcheri) or the Faint Banded Sea Snake, some consider the Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) an/or the Beaked Sea Snake (Enhydrina schistosa) to be the most toxic, however, with recent and more accurate studies prove the Belcheri has a 100 times more toxic venom then the two above or any other snake on earth.

It has a paddle-like tail, breathes air and can hold it's breath up to 8 hours, a few milligrams of venom can kill over a thousand people.

It's habitat is a wide range in the South Pacific.

Excluding the Belcher's Sea Snake the next most venomous snakes on earth according to their venom rating are:

2- Inland Tiapan (Oxyuranus Microlepidotus).

3- Common Indian Krait (Bungarus Caeruleus).

4- Philippine Cobra (Naja Philippinensis).

5- King Cobra (Ophiophagus Hanna).

6- Russell's Viper (Vipera Russellii).

7- Black Mamba (Dendroaspis Polylepis).

8- Yellow Jawed Tommygoff (Bothrops Asper).

9- Multibanded krait (Bungarus Multicinctus).

10- Tigar Snake (Notechis Scutatus).

11- Jararacussu (Bothrops Jararacussu).

A typical hatch-ling ROYAL PYTHON (it's designated name from it's Latin name of Python Regius) is roughly 6-7 inches long at birth, and typically the diameter of a UK 10p piece at its thickest point.

Royal Pythons reach sexual maturity at around three years old - producing typical clutches of 15-25 eggs.

Do corn snake need a heating pad?

Yes, corn snakes do need a source opf heat in their tank to keep their body temperature high enough, (75-80 degrees f). but heating pads aren't the best thing for the snakes because if it gets too hot, it will burn the snake as they do not have senses in theire scales. A heating lamp is a much better alternative.
