The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as we know it today was not given official Kennel Club recognition until 1945. The King Charles Spaniel whose history has been documented since the 15th Century has its origins in the courts of Europe. In 2000 only 185 King Charles Spaniel puppies were registered with the U.K. Kennel Club while the registrations for Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies exceeded 11,400.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels come in four colors. The most common is the "Blenheim" which is chestnut and white. The "Tri-Color" is a mixture of white, black, and brown. The "Black - and - Tan" are black with tan spots. The "Ruby" are red all-over.

actually according to recent scientific studies pugs can fly if they are in a chaotic situation which rasies there adrenaline and gives them a sudden adrenaline rush where they can leap great distances.
No, but they look better if you cut around their paws.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is made up of toy breeds, such as the Japanese Chin. The exact origin of these cuties are unknown.

P.S. - I love this breed!
One user said: Nope
Another user said: Yes, they can be hypoallergenic because they have hair rather than fur. Many people with animal allergies are allergic to the fur.
No they are not hypoallergenic.
All cockers come in ranges of colours like black and white or brown and spotty but all of them are different. Their star freature being their long droopy ears makes them super cute and of course their tightly curled tails that unravel as they grow older. Most cockers are middle sized dogs but are naturally good family pets and loving dogs.
yes my dog barks everytime someone knocks at the door he also barks at noises in the garden which is a bit annoying at times !
The Cavaliers have been captured in many paintings. The breed was named after King Charles as this was his "prize" pet. King Charles II also enjoyed this breed. This pet was for pure pleasure...a companion dog.
Cavalier King Charles are prone to eyes problems and heart problems, specifically MVD (Mitro Valve Disease) which is a heart problem that older Cavies can get. As long as you make sure that you get your Cavie from a good breeder, and that the parents' didn't have heart or eye problems, your dog should be healthy.
They can have 7 puppies at tops
They can have 7 puppies at tops
we have had litters of 8 and 9
That is not what the breed was intended to do but, every dog is different in traits. It is very possible that any dog could learn to do certain things but some just have it inbred in them to do certain jobs better than others. Dog breeds better suited to do that would be Beagles or possible Basset hounds.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels do shed. They are small dogs, so there is not a large amount, but it could be enough to cause problems for someone with allergies. A good breed, if you like the temperament of the King Charles, but do not want shedding, is a Cavapoo.

Lady, from the film "Lady and the Tramp", is an American Cocker Spaniel.
The muzzle on the American Cocker is shorter than an English Cocker, and an English Cocker Spaniel has a more Labrador-shaped head .

these dogs where used has napkins after king Charles ate, he would wipe his hands on the dogs to get the grease of his hands. they were like little servants
They normally don't get bigger than 2 feet tall. Between 1and 2 feet tall.
Cavaliers shed their hair pretty much constantly. I never noticed a particular time of the year our Cavalier shed worse.
There was another question just like this on Anwers.com, and i was looking up this question, so i just got the answer and the answer for me said about 10 years, and can live up to 16 years. But they said it is very rare for them to live up to 16 years.....
ETA: 8-10 years is average because of the serious health problems that the breed is prone to exhibit due to inbreeding. Heart defects (MVD) alone can drastically reduce life expectancy (even with aggressive treatment) to 5-6 years. The breed is susceptible to syringomyelia, which is a very painful neurological condition. Congenital deafness and arthritis are also common problems of the breed. Because of the statistical likelihood of these serious health problems, the life expectancy of the CKCS is reduced on average to 8-10 years.
