Most broadly, cellos are classified as string instruments. More specifically, cellos are considered part of the violin family, along with the violin, bass, and viola. The defining characteristic of the violin family is that the instruments have strings but are designed to be played with a bow.

When there are treble ("G") clefs on both staves, it means that both hands are playing notes in the treble (above middle C), where most of the notes are in the treble and none (or hardly any) in the bass below middle C.

It depends on who you are. If you like the sound of a cello play a cello. If you like flutes play a flute. Both are wonderful instruments.

To be honest I think the Cello is better because it is easier to play even if the sound you make is not in tune.

A cello can be any color. Most cellos are wooden, and as such can be finished to display any color, from black to white and everything in between. Electric cellos have even more potential for vibrant colors as the body of them does not do anything other than keep the strings in place. But some of the more beautiful cellos you could find are a natural wood color with a very prevalent grain.

The guitar is a much easier instrument to play. It requires less technique than the violin, which can take years of practice to play even the simplest of melodies. It depends on the cello, and how far it is out of tune. You can use an electronic tuner (one with a little needle to show how far out of tune) or you can use an electronic tuning tone generator, a tuning fork, pitch pipe or even a piano if you have one. Some beginner cellos have fine tuners on all four strings (these are the little screws sticking out of the triangular piece towards the bottom) all cellos have pegs which offer a wider (less precise) method of tuning, which should only be touched by someone experienced. You should leave it to a teacher to tune your cello correctly, and have them show you how, as it is very difficult to show you how over the internet.

A cello aka violoncello is the bass voice of the string instrument family. It has 4 strings A-D-G-C and it's an octave and a fifth lower than the violin. The cello plays in bass clef and it's the second largest instrument in the string family (the largest is the contra bass/double bass). You use a bow to play or you can pluck with your finger; this is known as pizzicato. The cello is the abbreviated version of the Italian word, violoncello, which means little violone. The viola on the other hand is the alto voice of the string family. It is larger than a violin. A 3/4 size viola is approx. the size of a 4/4 violin. The viola has four strings A-D-G and C and is a fifth lower than the violin. The viola can be played with a bow or by pizzicato.The viola's tone ranges between the violin and the cello but the low and rich sound sets it apart from the high pitched graceful sound of a violin. The viola is played identically to the violin.

If you know a really good music teacher, record the music and ask them if they can translate the music from the soundtrack into sheet music. If they are a good enough Cello player they can tell you what the notes are and write it down on a black piece of music bars. The time signature, sharps, and flats are going to be hard to identify. I personally love the music and want the sheet music for it.

The main part of the cello is made from wood. The top is made from spruce and the back, sides and neck are maple. The purfling, which are the the decorative lines around the edge, usually made of tiny strips of wood, or just painted on. The stings are attached to the neck, via the tuning pegs.
