What are the similarities of violin and cello?

An Erhu is a traditional chinese instrument while the violin is western. Compared to the Erhu, the violin has more strings to it therefore making a sharper tone and and Erhu is more slim in comparison. Also, an Erhu needs to be played sitting down, settling its bottom on the players thighs.

How do you tune a cello right?

It depends on the cello, and how far it is out of tune. You can use an electronic tuner (one with a little needle to show how far out of tune) or you can use an electronic tuning tone generator, a tuning fork, pitch pipe or even a piano if you have one. Some beginner cellos have fine tuners on all four strings (these are the little screws sticking out of the triangular piece towards the bottom) all cellos have pegs which offer a wider (less precise) method of tuning, which should only be touched by someone experienced. You should leave it to a teacher to tune your cello correctly, and have them show you how, as it is very difficult to show you how over the internet.

Violin is to viola as what is to cello?

A cello aka violoncello is the bass voice of the string instrument family. It has 4 strings A-D-G-C and it's an octave and a fifth lower than the violin. The cello plays in bass clef and it's the second largest instrument in the string family (the largest is the contra bass/double bass). You use a bow to play or you can pluck with your finger; this is known as pizzicato. The cello is the abbreviated version of the Italian word, violoncello, which means little violone. The violone is the bass. Notable cellists include: Yo Yo Ma, Msistlav Rostropovich, Pablo Casals and Mischa Maisky. If you're interested in listening to some great recordings, listen to the Haydn Cello Concerto No.3 and Six Suites for Unaccompanied Suites, by Bach (especially the Bourree from the 3rd Suite; Rostropovich's recording on youtube is awesome!)

The viola on the other hand is the alto voice of the string family. It is larger than a violin. A 3/4 size viola is approx. the size of a 4/4 violin. The viola has four strings A-D-G and C and is a fifth lower than the violin. The viola can be played with a bow or by pizzicato. The viola's tone ranges between the violin and the cello but the low and rich sound sets it apart from the high pitched graceful sound of a violin. The viola is played identically to the violin.

Who wrote and where can i get the cello music that haji plays in blood plus?

If you know a really good music teacher, record the music and ask them if they can translate the music from the soundtrack into sheet music. If they are a good enough Cello player they can tell you what the notes are and write it down on a black piece of music bars. The time signature, sharps, and flats are going to be hard to identify. I personally love the music and want the sheet music for it.

Is the cello used in a band?

the cello is not a full member of the band, but is used only for a specific song, but a few artists have featured a cellist as a full band member.

probably not because violin is in treble cleft and cello has a base cleft and violin has an e string that a cello doesn't have and the cello has a c string that the violin doesn't have.

How do you fix a loose cello string?

Firstly, bent the tip of the string slightly so that it can "hook" or anchor on the peg. Next, place the end of the string into the bottom hole where the fine-tuners are. Turn the peg clockwise, until the note is reached. Make sure that the string is on the bridge, and in its respective positions.

How much does a cello usually cost?

Some Cellos have 5 strings some have 4. If the Cello is a unpopular brand(Like a brand that would sell Cellos for about; 800+$?) , it'll be expensive: If its a cheap Cello that means the brand is popular. Depending on how old you are, if your 30+ you'd probably want a Adult(4/4) Cello, if your a kid/teenager you'd want a 1/2 or bigger but NOT a 4/4. I'm looking on Ebay for a Cello around 100$. Where can you get cello sheet music for secrets by one republic for free?

I got a version (I'm not sure if it's easier than the original or if it is the original) by typing "secrets one republic drum part" into google and using the first result that came up. So far it seems to be accurate, but it's not the whole song- it's about half.

How much is a used cello worth?

It depends what the brand is. Look inside the f hole and there should be a brand label stuck on the inside and possibly the year it was made. You will need to take it to a violin shop to get a good estimate of the value. The least expensive celli are sold for about $100. The most expensive "regular" ones, like the ones used by symphony members, are in the $100,000 - $250,000 range. Collectible celli can run $1mm and higher.

How many octaves lower is the bass than the cello?

In traditional cello tuning, the strings are fifths apart, just like a violin or viola. Thus, the strings are C, G, D, and A, from two octaves below middle C to just below middle C. The highest reachable note is more a matter of practice than an absolute limit, however hitting notes an octave above middle C (highest I've seen in sheet music is a high E) is not unreasonable. So, the effective range of a cello is somewhere around three octaves.

Usual six-string tuning is a low F, the usual C, G, D, and A, and then a high E. That gives a hair less than three octaves between strings. Add to that the octave-and-a-half you can get on a single string, and that leaves you somewhere around four and a half octaves of total range.

Who invented the cello bow?

Nobody knows who made the first bow, but it was Tourte who revolutionized bowmaking with a bow that bent towards the stick, not away from it. Tourte was called the "Stradivari of the Bow". Hope that helps.
