What happens if you cut a worm in half?
a planaria worm will grow back in to two separate worms
What it says below is not true kind of. Today I cut a worm in half, at first I thought I killed it but then I noticed The tail side started moving around. You know a cats tail well it was moving like that but really fast around the ground. The head side just took off like a normal worm through the grass. I took both sides of the worm home and noticed after 3 or 4 hours that the head part grew its tail back and it was now just a short wimpy worm. The tail part did not grow back though, it simpley died after 3-4 hours. So now you know that if you cut a worm in half it will not make 2 worms just simpley heals it self after hours and the other half stops moving... :)
The worm dies a very painful death. It is pure myth that it creates two worms as if you take a time to look up what makes a worm you will see it does indeed have a top and a bottom, so to speak. So, don't rush out and think if i cut this worm in half he will have a little friend to hang out with....coz he wont! :)

Does the centipede have bones?
No. The only solid, hard body part is its mouth, which is like a beak. That is why they can hide in really small spaces, like a jar or in a small hole. On PBS, in a laboratory, I saw a full grown octopus climb out of it's tank and go across to a tank of a fully grown shark in it. The shark tried to swim away, but the octopus wrapped its arms around it and with it's suction cups it held the shark still and started eating it. The scientists had said that they wondered why they were finding just the cartilage of the sharks in their tanks in the morning, so left a camera filming at night. No, they don't have bones, but in the water, they don't need them.
