In Canadian football, teams are allowed a maximum of 12 players on the field. The positions of the players are the same as in American football, with the exeption of an additional player in the backfield. There is also unlimited motion in the backfield behind the line of scrimmage prior to the snap of the ball. All backfielders are eligible receivers, and it is not unusual to see all receivers (other than the ends) in forward motion prior to the snap on a passing play.

On November 27, 1994, the Baltimore Stallions narrowly lost the 82nd Grey Cup Game, played at Vancouver's B.C. Place, to the British Columbia Lions, by a score of 26-23. A year later, on November 19, 1995, the Stallions won the 83rd Grey Cup Game at Taylor Field in Regina, decisively defeating the Calgary Stampeders 37-20. The Baltimore franchise was later moved to Montreal and became the latest incarnation of the Alouettes.
Edmonton Eskimos ================== Wrong. Winnipeg Blue Bombers. I think this is the third time the Bombers have been in the Eastern Conference. On each occasion, it has been because one of the four Eastern teams folded. The above answer of the Edmonton Eskimos was probably given as a result of confusion. The Eskies this year (2008) became entitled to bump the third place Eastern team out of a playoff spot. (This is called the crossover.) But the Green and Gold remain in the Western Conference.

The DFL acronymn STT = Special Teams Tackle. It took me a while to figure it out too :-)
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been shuttled back and forth over the years. Prior to the start of the 1987 regular season, the original Montreal Alouettes folded. That caused the Bombers to move to the Eastern Division for the first time.
In 1996, the Baltimore Stallions moved to Montreal, at which time, the Bombers moved back to the Western division.
After the 1996 season, the Ottawa Rough Riders folded, which again caused the Bombers to move to the Eastern division.
In 2002, the Ottawa Renegades came into the league, and once again, the Blue Bombers moved to the Western division.
And finally, at the end of the 2005 season, the Ottawa Renegades suspended operations, and once again, the Blue Bombers moved to the Eastern division.
The following shows the years each US team was in the CFL:
Sacramento Gold Miners: 1993-94
Baltimore Stallions: 1994-95
Birmingham Barracudas: 1995
Las Vegas Posse: 1994
Memphis Mad Dogs: 1995
Shreveport Pirates: 1994-95
San Antonio Texans: 1995
Also, please note that the Baltimore franchise moved to Montreal in 1996 and is still the Montreal Alouettes.
