What is the solution to Maze by Christopher Manson?
Now, this might be a little bit confusing but here you go. In room 29, a door to room 17 is hidden upside-down to look like a table. Notice that the two leftmost candlesticks are not connected to the stand. In addition, the two candles for those sticks are casting shadows back toward the fool, away from the lit candle on the stand. This is also hinted at in the first room by the two banners on the ground, nearest the entryway. They contain the words "Go" & "17."
Using this door it is clear that there is a 16-step path through the Maze: 1 26 30 42 4 29 17 45 23 8 12 39 4 15 37 20 1.
Several of the rooms have unnumbered exits, but the destinations of these exits can all be deduced. For example, room 36 has four exits, of which only two are numbered (7 and 16). But four rooms (7, 16, 26, and 45) have exits marked 36. Therefore the two unmarked exits in room 36 must lead to rooms 26 and 45. By similar logic, the unmarked exit in room 21 must lead to room 1.Here is the connectivity matrix (asterisks indicate unnumbered exits)1. 20 21 26 41 2. 12 22 29 3. 9 18 33* 15* 4. 11 15 16 24 29 43 44 39* 42* 5. 20 22 30 43 6. 40 8* 32* 7. 16 33 36 8. 6 12 29 31 23* 9. 3 18 27* 10. 14 34 41 37* 11. 24 40 4* 19* 32* 39* 12. 2 8 21 39 13. 18 25 27 14. 10 24 43 15. 3 30 37 4* 16. 7 36 4* 32* 17. 6 33 45 29* 18. 3 13 9* 44* 19. 11 31 23* 45* 20. 1 5 27 37* 21. 24 31 44 1* 12* 22. 38 43 2* 5* 42* 23. 8 19 28 45 24. 4* 11* 14* 21* 25. 13 34 35 42* 26. 1 30 36 38 27. 9 13 20* 28. 23 32 43 45 29. 2 8 35 40 4* 17** 30. 5 15 34 42 26* 31. 19 21 44 8* 32. 6 11 16 28 33. 3 7 35 17* 34. 10 25 30* 35. 33 25* 29* 41* 36. 7 16 26* 45* 37. 10 15 20 42 38. 22 40 43 26* 41* 39. 4 11 12 40. 6 11 38 29* 41. 1 10 35 38 42. 4 22 25 30 37 43. 22 38 4* 5* 14* 28* 44. 18 21 4* 31* 45. 17 19 23 28 36

It is unclear whether the author intended for the unmarked doors to be an alternate solution. Since we have no direct statements from Christopher Manson on the subject, we can only speculate on his intentions based upon indirect evidence. Such speculation is inherently risky.
While Manson went to the trouble of making sure that as many doors leave a room as enter a room, this fact alone is not conclusive. Did Manson intend for the unmarked doors to be one directional? Why state that there is a sixteen step path, and set up door 17 as the only way to achieve this path, if unmarked doors could be used? Did Manson set up the unmarked doors to reward people for questioning the assumption that only marked doors can be used? Such questions cannot be resolved without further information from the author.
The year after the book was initially published, VENTURA ASSOCIATES, INC. a fulfillment house retained by the publisher provided the following additional clues to those who wrote to them requesting a solution.
(quoting)
Each of the additional clues below applies to one word of the riddleto be found in room #45 of MAZE1. I'll tip my hat if the two of you can solve this. 2. You can get into these two shoes only if you don't go anywhere. 3. You will find two names on the table, and they go together like doughnut and hole. 4. You must choose between two pictures. 5. There are no two ways you can read this sign. 6. You can see that another two pictures demonstrate their own kind of symmetry.
(end quote)
The various components of room 45, put together properly produce the following question:
"What house will all live in?"
W + hat = What shoe + U (horseshoe shaped) = House Will (common to both names "---- iam shake spear" and "wood row ---- sun") awl = All (versus nun = none) elvi = Live (third reading is "vile") eye + N (sideways Z) = In
On the table, there are a row of up ended logs and a poster with a shaking spear and a ideographic sun. These can be interpreted as "wood row Will's son" or Woodrow Wilson. A quote attributed to President Wilson is: "Without God, the world would be a maze without a clue"
Beginning at the first room of the path, a hint can be phrased:
"Like Atlas, you bear it upon your shoulders."
1: Like is written backwards on the banner hanging near the entryway. 26: salt + A = Atlas 30: From text, "Why 'O' & 'U'?" = You 42: A Bear is the main feature of this room. 4: The holes and pegs are a form of intelligence test, abbr. I.T. alternately, the torches are I's and the gavel is a T 29: up + on = Upon 17: Why + Oh + You + Are = Your skip room 45 23: Taken from the text is the word "shoulder" to which we add the S from room 8. This is not entirely satisfying, because the next rooms do a good job of providing most of the letters, but not in quite the right order. 8: S 12: U D 39: R and on the tire O 4: "ELL" in maze on wall spells L 15: hat, hare, heart, helmet, house, hero all start with H 37: sphere, bottle, vase, cone, dice all end with E (clued in text) 20: S
The acceptable answers were "The World, Earth, or Globe."
Scott Purdy wrote the earlier version of this answer and thanked Andrew C. Plotkin for the information provided by the publisher and Narciso Jaramillo for his assistance in determining the reasons for several statements. Chris Mc Manus proposed the 8 room path through the Maze. John Bailey located the Woodrow Wilson quote.
Did anyone ever receive the death penalty for killing their spouse?
Too many to list them all. One of the best known cases would be Scott Peterson of Modesto, CA, who murdered his wife and unborn child. He now sits on San Quentin's death row. No DOE (date of execution) has been set.
Did Charles Manson ever live in North Carolina?
Manson had led such a vagrant lifestyle it is difficult to know where he was at any given time. The most accurate way to trace his movements is by his arrest record. As far as I know he was not arrested in NC. That doesn't mean that he didn't live there but only that there may not be a written record of it. If he was arrested as a juvenile his crimes may have been purged from the system.
What happend to Charles Manson when he live in Dibault home?

Why is the death penalty okay?
For some people, it's not. For others it is not enough punishment for the bringing about the death of a loved one. Since we are a democracy the majority of the people say that capital punishment is justifiable homicide. Everybody has to decide for themselves. And there is never just a 'black and white' solution. Life is full of many shades of gray.

Well a lot of Drugs and they didn't stop until they knew it was bad and it was bad enough to kill you and other things.

Did Charles Manson ever get help for antisocial personality disorder?
Manson has seen his share of psychiatrists and psychologists. And one has only to listen to him speak for five minutes to realize he is not mentally stable. But personality disorders are not curable, which is where they deviate from true mental illness. An individual's personality is formed in the first five or six years in life. It is what it is, at that point, for the most part. It really is true that 'a leopard can't change his spots', and Manson is what he is. This does not mean to exclude mental illness. I believe at this point is his life he suffers from both. However, at the time of his crimes, he knew right from wrong, and in fact had the presence of mind to plan the murders, send others so he could not be held responsible, and lied considerably to worm his way out of a guilty verdict. According to the law a person can be mentally ill and still be guilty of a crime. So Manson's mental health did not interfer in his capacity to form, carry out, and coverup his crimes.
As an example of 'not guilty by reason of insanity', is Andrea Yates, the Texas housewife that one morning drowned all five of her small children in the bathtub of the family home. Although at her first trial she was found guilty and sentenced to death, her second trial got it right. Yates had a very long and well-documented history of mental illness who at the time prior to the murders was hospitalized several times and was experiencing audio and visual hallucinations. Her behavior backs this up. Unlike Manson who went to great lengths to avoid detection, Yates called police within minutes of the murders. She did not run, hide or lie to avoid punishment. Yates was so impaired by her illness it completely overrode all rational thought. Insane and not guilty.
Was Charles Manson ever in New York?
I gave a lot of reading to found the answer to your question. Every decoment I read does not mention New York as a place where Charles Manson has been.
Why were Sharon Tate and her friends and the La Biancas the victims of Charles Manson?
Manson had a rediculous idea that there would be a race war, blacks against whites and he was just getting things started. In this scenario, Manson would end up being the king of the world.

When was Charles Manson at the National Training school?
Manson was finally sent to the National Training School for Boys in Washington D.C.in 1951. The adjustment was a lot like a move from a State prison to a Federal Prison because there was a lot more structure and control in the National Boys School.
Nicholas Winton was a man during the Holocaust who set up homes in the United Kingdom for Jewish children from Czechoslovakia. They were sent on trains so that they wouldn't be killed or sent to concentration camps. He saved over 600 children. He got many awards for saving the children.
Why was the Manson family formed?
First and formost, Manson was a 'cult' leader. The only reason for a cult to exist is the exploitation of members by a tyrannical leader. This is the only reason for the family's existance. Manson's hold over these young people was no different than Rev. Jim Jones or David Koresh's total domination of the members of their 'church'.
What were the cities in which the Manson family committed their crimes?
The family's crimes were commited in the city of Los Angeles. According to an August 1999 Reuters news service report the house at 10050 Cielo Drive, rented by Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate at the time of the murders, was demolished in 1994.
What are pros over a life sentence vs death penalty?
The debate for capitol punishment is equal to the 'pro-choice, pro-life' abortion debate. I'm not sure if there is a right or wrong, but strong feelings on both sides.
The pros for life can depend on the state and circumstances of the crime. Some states don't have the 'life with no parole' option. In these states it would be death or eventual parole. A perfect example of this would be the case of Charles Manson and his zombie followers. They were given a death sentence but when capital punishment was overtuned in a higher court all death cases were turned to life with parole. Thank goodness no parole board has turned them loose.
There are many people that feel life is the only choice, murder is murder to them whether it was the defendant or the state, it's still murder in their eyes. There are some crimes, that are so horrific and gruesome, that death is the only just sentence, for death penalty supporters.
Then there is the financial aspect. One view is that is cost so much to house and feed a prisoner for life is cripling to the state or federal prison that houses them. But again, it cost millions per prisoner to execute the condemed due to the lengthy appeals that are built-in to every death sentence.
And lastly, the judicial system has to decide if the prisoner will be a future threat. Even inside prison walls, there is violence and sometimes murders. So even though they may never see the outside ever again, there is still a danger to everyone on the inside, including prison staff such as guards. Jeffrey Dahmer and Albert DeSalvo are perfect examples of prison violence.
I hope this has been helpful. Every person has to decide what they are morally comfortable with.
Is stiff penalty same as death penalty?
When someone refers to a 'stiff penalty' it is just a way of saying that a person will get the maximum punishment that the law allows for that particular crime. Such as armed robbery may carry a penalty of 25 years to life. The stiffest penalty for this crime would be life.
The death penalty is definitely the stiffest penalty for murder in the 1st degree. It is the maximum punishment for taking someones life with premeditation or several other factors that decide if a case is elegible for capital punishment.
Who was Charles Manson raised by?
He spent most of his younger years in jail. I think he actually referred to "the system" as his mother.Born as no name Maddox, Manson was born to unmarried, 16-year-old Kathleen Maddox in Cincinnati General Hospital, in Cincinnati,Ohio; no more than three weeks after his birth, he was Charles Milles Maddox. For a period after her son's birth Kathleen Maddox was married to a laborer named William Manson, whose last name the boy was given. Charles Manson's biological father appears to have been a "Colonel Scott", against whom Maddox filed a bastardy suit that resulted in an agreed judgement in 1937. Possibly, the boy never really knew him.
According to Manson, his mother, alleged to be an alcoholic, once sold him for a pitcher of beer to a childless waitress, from whom his uncle retrieved him some days later. When his mother and her brother were sentenced to five years imprisonment for robbing a Charleston,West Virginia, service station in 1939, Manson was placed in the home of an aunt and uncle in McMechen,West Virginia. Upon his mother's 1942 parole, Manson was retrieved by his mother and lived with her in run-down hotel rooms. He would one day characterise her physical embrace of him on the day she returned from prison as his sole childhood joy. In 1947, Kathleen Maddox tried to have her son placed in a foster home but failed because no such home was available. The court placed Manson in the Gibault school for boys, in Terre Haute, Indiana. After 10 months, he fled from there to his mother, who rejected him.
Why did Charles Manson draw a swastika on his forehead?
Manson thought Hitler was a "tuned in dude that leveled the karma of the Jews." He was very interested in Hitler and felt he was a hero instead of a mass murderer. So the swastika signafies Manson's reverence toward a fallen hero.
