Generally pom pons do not need to be cleaned. If your squad shares poms and you are worried about spreading germs, you can always Lysol them 24 hours before they need to be used. Make sure if you do this, though, that you give them plenty of space to air out. If it's actual dirt on the poms, a wet rag down the streamers will work just fine.

We are still researching. All I know is that cheerleading was not created by a female, but a male. The male called his squad yell-leaders. The reason he called his squad that is because they had a mega-phone and they would yell out quotes. This was then in the 1930s when yell-leaders were created by a male. Yell-leaders did not do any back-flips, or the splits. They yelled. Duhh. So cheerleaders are very, very, verry different. This is all I got. I hope you learned a lot about yell-leaders.

Weightlifting and aeroics are by far the best. Cheerleaders need to be strong in order to do gymnastics and stunt. Aerobics is great for conditioning your heart to get through a routine without being out of breath, plus you will become stronger. You can't go wrong with cardio and weight training. you can also do cartwheels and stretches. it helps you not disconnect any muscles. hope i answered your question

well, in some cases it can be. some of these costs include: competition fees, busing, uniforms (the skirt, the top, the undershirt, the underwear [they go over your underpants], socks, sneakers, and hair scrunchies), gym time, and even clothes for practicing. cheerleading can also be very time consuming, some teams having it seven days a week, competitions and games. competitions can be very stressful, also. For example, most times you have to be there at around 8 am. it also takes a while for registration, mat time, and the actual performance, and then the awards. most of the time, there is about an hour in between registration and the beginning of the competition, mat time and the actual performance, plus watching the other teams and divisions, waiting for scores, and the awards ceremony. but in the end, it is very rewarding and worth the effort.

Any ages can be cheerleaders from 3-100 there are a lot of different cheer leading teams, some are open, some are school teams. Cheer leading isn't just a "give me a A" and all that stuff. Cheer leading is so much more. It is so fun you cheer, you dance, you stunt and tumble when you are on great cheerleading teams.

an eight count for cheer is a sequence of motions with in eight seconds... you may jump, tumble, dance, or cheer. the numbers are there so that you can get your squad timing together and slow down to learn propper technique.

Cheerleading stunts are more phsysics. The bases need to use basic principles like leverage to lift the weight of the flyer. The flyer needs to use principles related to balance to keep herself in the air.

spice it up by adding just a few break dancing moves. dont get normal cheerleading uniforms. get crazy with them! be creative! and add some funky hip hop moves. and the number one thing to do is reassure safety!

Haha! for SURE! A lot of the girls on my cheer team are SUPER tall. Height doesn't really matter in the main routine and tumbling at all. And tall cheerleaders are ALWAYS needed in stunting to act as the "third", but could also be a top if they are not too heavy. And for that matter...anyone could be a cheerleader if they wanted too! :P

You have to have school spirit and be really dedicated, but the main thing is to just have fun with it. Believe in yourself and your teammates, and always try to get along with everybody on the team don't cause drama its not healthy for the whole squad.

Make sure that you always keep your motions TIGHT!! Keep them nice and neat! Almost anything can look good if you do it right. Also, if you mess up make sure you don't let your crowd know!! How would they know if you were supposed to do it or not! lol Trust me I am an experienced cheerleader.

really, the perfect pike is when the persons hand actually passes the leg distance but to improve, work on height, and stretch to both feet in the front and if you want a perfect one stretch your back all the way(but if you can't, dont try it!)

At meets, some judges will take a deduction for wearing nail polish, but it is okay to train whilewearing nail polish.

If you are a school squad, the school mascot.

If you are a recreational league/ athletic association pick a name that sounds good with your association. (e.g. the Greensville Gators, the Tuckahoe Twisters, Leeville Lightning.)

If you are an All-star division competitive team pick something flashy. Dream All-stars, Cheer Storm, Supernova All-stars, Fire and Flame All-Stars, Cheer Xplosion ect. ect.

Team work on a cheer squad is helping your teammates to reach your goal, and working together to get the flyer up in the air without dropping her. Cheerleaders need teamwork in a cheer squad, as the bases have to work together to get the flyer up in the air while the back spot has to work with the flyer to see what she's comfortable with. The back spot also has to work with the bases, to make sure they know what they're doing. The tumblers have to work together to make sure they are spread out enough to wear they don't run into each other when in the act of tumbling. Last but definitely not least, the team has to work together to keep their smiles on their faces, no matter how many bruises, cuts, broken limbs, etc... to accomplish their goal. Not only that but they have to be counting in their head while all of this is going on.

It really depends on where you are coaching & how much THEY pay you. Honestly, coaches for cheer do not get paid a lot. If you love cheer, that's what makes you want to coach, not how much money you make. If you are not devoted to coaching, it's definitely not the job for you.

You start your own cheerleading squad by getting a couple people to coach and then making flyers asking people to join the squad and dont forget to make the name of the cheerleading squad.

Maddy_lilyxx: Flyers are the people you throw in the air, bases are the people who hold the flyers in the air and spotters are the people who act as back-up for the bases (you know in cases where the flyer falls and the base is not ready to cacth then the spotters move ina and assist). If you want to make a proper squad you will need to get health insurance, for accidents and a proper coach, however to start just get a bunch of friends together and have fun with it.

The role of all star cheerleaders is slightly different. They represent the sport that cheerleading is. It is like any other sport that people do. People play softball or basketball becasue they love the sport, and that is the role of all star cheerleaders. They do what they love and showcase their talents through a sport!
