How does cheerleading and physics relate?
In cheerleading, many stunts involve kinetic friction. For example, take the basket toss. When I flier falls back into their basket, their is a kinetic friction between her and the arms catching her. This, along with the distribution of their downward force through the catchers, helps slow the flier to a stop. Another example is in coed partner stunts. When the base tosses his flier, there must be kinetic friction between the the two (on hands, wrists and waist) especially during the flick.

i really love this sport!! and yes i consider this a sport.. with all my heart! i love it and i wish that i knew about it sooner than i did, and i just love to do it and be out there and express myself and do what i love to do! its awesome!! =]
This has actually become a controversy in the past few years. Back in the "old days," cheering was seen as a female activity, where girls would cheer for the boys, and that is all it was-- they would recite cheers and maybe do some dance moves. But in the past several decades, cheer-leading has become more of an athletic event. Boys and young men are participating, there are often acrobat routines that involve tumbling or jumping, and the possibility of injury is very real. In some schools and at some professional events, cheer-leaders are just very beautiful young women who are expected to lead the crowd in showing support for the team. But more and more, cheer-leading is turning into an elaborate spectacle, with participants not only reciting the cheers but doing gymnastic moves. So, yes, these days, it certainly looks to me like cheering has become an actual sport.

Cheer-leading is a sport because, you have to lift, throw, dance and a whole lot of other things. Therefore it is a sport. It is a dangerous one also I have been dropped numerous times and it doesn't feel the best. Just because we don't shoot hoops or anything we cheerleaders are in a sport we throw girl up in the air same thing as a basketball or football just a person and you have to make sure to catch then.
YES, CHEER IS VERY MUCH SO A SPORT. Competitive cheer is more of a sport than just sideline cheer. In competitive cheer you have to through someone in the air, AND catch them. You have to hold them there, make sure they don't fall, walk with them, etc. While sometime football players, or basketball players throw maybe a 5 pound ball and occasionally catch it. But, in cheer we 99.9% of the time catch the girl that can be up to 100 pounds! 20 times the size.
Just watch The Blind Side, they have the proper answer.

How do you make your jump higher?
i assume you are meaning the second stage (step/skip) that you mean rather than the second attempt of the triple jump. when i was training for the triple jump i used to do it over low hurdles (about 50-60cm high) which helped me get height since if i didnt i would just hit the hurdles at each stage. another method was to hold yourself up with your arms so you can have both feet off the ground. i did this by putting a chair either side of me and lifting myself up. you can then slowly go through each phase of the triple jump which helps to find and remember the correct technique.

Much of Baton Twirling's history is simply hearsay or educated guesses. It has varying stories of how the sport was stared. The first is the idea the the Dutch brought the sport with them when they settled in Pennsylvania in the US and is associated with the swinging of the Swiss flag. Another is a possible history of baton twirling is it was initiated at Millsap's College in Mississippi. Major Millsap's founded this college after the Civil War and dubbed his lady athletes the "majorettes". While this may be the original origin of the name, the Dutch truly introduced it to the United States.
