How do you do a back handspring for beginners?

To do a perfect back handspring takes at least a year of practice. Your must strengthen your muscles first. Do GREAT, LOW push-ups every day for about three months. After this, choose a spotter or someone you trust to catch you to spot you for a back handspring. To warm up try handstands and snap your legs down. Also, try back bend kick-overs or back walkers. These are key to help you progress. To do a back handspring, you must pass the following elements:

Handstands

Possibly a back walkover

Now here are some things to remember:

Arch your body

Make your hands flat
Snap your legs over as soon as your hands touch the ground
REMEMBER, head over heels

What does a flyer do in an elevator in cheerleading?

Stay as tight as they possibly can! Pinch the penny! Ride your cradles!

You will start holding each of your base's shoulders. The spotter should call out a start, which will be something like "1,2, down, up!" You will bend your knees on "down" and "jump" into the bases hands on up. Shove off of the bases shoulders, holding your full weight by yourself. On the next down up, the bases will give a little down movement, then push up. As they are going up, straighten your knees and lock them stiff. When you are at the peak of the elevator, squeeze your buttocks together (pinch the penny), hollow out through your chest, stay balanced at the balls of your feet, stiffen you legs as hard as possible! This will make it much easier for both you and the bases. hit a high V and smile!

If the elevator is followed by a cradle, wait for a signal from the spotter. They should say something like, "Ready? Cradle. 1,2, down, up!" When they say ready, move your arms to a T. on the 1,2, down, up, stay STIFF AS POSSIBLE! DO NOT TRY TO JUMP OUT OF THEIR HANDS! At the word "up" you will be thrown into the air. ride to the peak of the toss, then bring your legs up and together in the pike position. Make sure your arms stay tight in a T, you don't want to hit your bases! Stay stiff when you land, don't bend your knees- it looks sloppy.

CONGRATS! You just did a perfect elevator! good luck.

How do you do a back handspring tuck?

If you are doing tumbling before it, such as a back hand spring, or if your just doing it standing, when it comes to the tuck these are the steps to follow.

1.) Do some warm-ups first. Like, jumping as high in the air as you can with your arms up to get the feel of where you stop in the air.

2.) When it comes to doing the flip, start with your arms up. Keeping your chest up use your arms to help swing you into the air.

3.) When you get to the highest point of your jump you will bring your knees to your chest and rotate backwards.

Keep in mind this flip will go fast and it does always happen the first time.

Make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing spotting you.

You can't just make yourself rotate backwards in mid-air. You have to initiate the rotation in pushing off the floor by pushing your hips forwards. Then when you tuck it speeds the rotation up.

What are the names of the 1977 Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders?

There has been some controversy in regards to the actual line up but as far as putting the pieces together this is what is certain; Suzie Holub (center) was a Dallas Cheerleader for only one year, 1976.

In conversing with actual DCC Alumni and other collectors and historians, the actual line up is as follows :

  • Kris Marullo
  • Suzette Russell
  • Suzie Holub
  • Cynde Lewis
  • Debbie Wagener

Kris is not listed anywhere by name with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. She ended up leaving the squad for some reason, but usually when a cheerleader doesn't finish out the season, they are not officially recognized.

A copy of the poster is viewable in the related links.

A take off of that poster was published by Playboy Magazine in January of 79 with Farrah Fawcett-Majors on the cover. A group of ex-Dallas Cheerleaders formed their own group called "Texas Cowgirls Inc."

They closely resembled the Dallas Cheerleaders but would perform with less restrictions that the DCC maintained.

Where can you find nfinity cheer shoes in stores?

Finish line always works. I've found that Tradehome shoes has lots of pumas if that's what you're looking for. Sometimes Scheels has them but don't count on it. Your high school should know, also.

What can you do to get better at a toe touch?

A good way to stretch for a toe touch would be to sit in the straddle position, and then reach for your toes, the rest your head on your knee, hold it for 20 seconds, then switch your head to you other knee and do the same.
