What should I do if I get the Service Tire Monitor System in a 2007 Monte Carlo?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Things you can do yourself: Check air pressure manually and recalibrate the sensors (instructions are in the users manual) Seems to be a problematic system, take it back to the dealer for warranty repair if the problem doesn't go away. I got a 2006 and it does the same thing and has been fixed once already but still happens, still love the car... Alternatively, could try rotating the tires and then after recalibration see if the problem moves with the affected tire(s) or if it could be a problem with the central "brain/receiver."

How do you change spark pliugs in 1997 Monte Carlo?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Take one plug wire off at a time so you don't mix them up. Get a 5/8" spark plug socket, a 10" extension, a flex and a 3" extension as well as a ratchet. You will need a special tool to pull the plug wires off unless you are very carefull. The flex is needed for the back of the engine to get the plugs out. Most plugs are pre-gapped. Take one out and put the new one in. DO NOT over tighten them they will break. Put your wire back on and continue until all 6 are done.

Which one is faster a 1987 Monte Carlo ss or 1987 442 cutlass?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

They are about the same. The Olds has a 307 cid with 170 HP and 250 ft-lbs of torque and is usually a couple of hundred lbs. heavier than the Chevy. It also sports a HD rear end developed for the Buick Grand National. The Chevy has a 302 cid with 180 HP and 240 ft-lbs of torque.

The 4-4-2 in stock form should be a tenth faster in the quarter mile, and the Monte Carlo should have a 5 MPH higher top speed. In the real world, the driver, maintenance, and number of go-fast parts make a much bigger difference than the brand.

To find the area, first divide the shape into regular, simple shapes. Then use formulas to find the area of the smaller, regular shapes. Lastly, add up all the smaller areas to find the area of the original shape.

What can cause the service vehicle light condition on a 2000 Monte Carlo?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Mine has been coming on because I have a bad wire somewhere in the car. I also have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS, and I have been trying to find out where to find these wires before I rip my car apart. If you take it to a mechanic they can hook it up to the computer and it will tell you exactly what is wrong, it cost $50, otherwise mine light has also came on when my gas cap is not on tight, if you want to try that. DO NOT PAY TO HAVE THE TROUBLE CODES READ!!!!! ALL AutoZone parts stores will read them and clear them from your car for FREE! . .

You replaced your 02 sensor for Monte Carlo 1999 you still get engine light what else could it be possible?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The check engine light means that the computer has a problem code that you need to read. Use a diagnostic code reader for your vehicle. Your Chevrolet should be OBD2 compliant, meaning that you need an OBD2 code scanner.

Here are complete step-by-step instructions (with photos) on how to test a power window motor to determine whether the problem is in the motor/regulator or the switch/wiring

http://www.ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/repair-topics/window-power-repair/replace-a-power-window-regulator

It would depend what's wrong with the motor... it may be the motor or the assembly.. if your not having any sounds coming from the assembly, then check at the connector if power is actually getting to the motor..In many cases just by opening and closing the door, the wire inside the sleeve that feeds the motor and switch, gets broke , then you have to repair it... The motor itself is a simple motor, nothing fancy, I found a couple of times that the magnet which makes up the field in the motor breaks and jams the armature (the part that actually turns in the motor).. that's why I suggest to make sure that power is coming into the motor. once you verify this and there is, try running the motor without any cables connected.. you could have a jammed cable or dry track allowing the window to pull sideways and jamming it some more.. . if you find that it is the motor, you will probably find that most of them are self destructive, as they are not screwed together, they are assembled and another machine basically folds the metal closed. so to open the motor may make it impossible to re-assemble.

How do you replace the drive belt on a 1995 Monte Carlo?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you mean the serpentine belt that runs the pulleys on the front of the car, there is a tensioner pulley that you can turn with a wrench to release the tension. Make sure you remember the routing of the belt so you can put the new belt on the same way.
