Why do people get addicted to gum?
I've been addicted to gum for about 2 years and it started just normally chewing gum when available. Then I began chewing it 24/7 and when I didn't have it my teeth would bother me and I'd eat cuz my mouth needed to move. It's very uncomfortable if I don't have gum to chew on really hard (usually 2 pieces at once for thickness) and I think a lot of it is stress but yea. Better gum than cigarettes in my opinion...
If you chew gum you will actually lose a few calories around your face and jaw. This is only for sugarless gum. However, the effect will be so small it would hardly be noticeable.
But! This doesn't mean you should chew gum 24/7. You wouldn't actually loose anything.
1 - 2 pieces a few days a week is fine.

And the myth about swallowing chewing gum being harmful is rubbish, it simply passes through you. But chewing too much on an empty stomach can cause stomach irritation because of the 'tricking' of your body into thinking your eating and letting the stomach acids cause havoc and gives a greater risk of developing stomach ulcers so dont go mad on it.

First, put some ice in a plastic bag and seal it. Place the bag on the gum and wait till it hardens. When it solidifies, crack as much off as possible. let the remaining get back to room temperature. Use WD-40 on a cloth or paper towel and rub the gum with it. It will eventually liquify the remaining gum and continue until all the gum is gone. You could also put tape on it and rip it off.

How come you are not allowed to chew gum at school?
Well think of it like this, if you chew the gum noxiously it disturbs classroom students. Also the Teachers are not trustworthy of you throwing it away they think you will discard it on other school property, we just gotta deal with that, and in my opinion the gum does not keep you focused it just keeps you satisfied when your mouth is dry and has no flavor until lunch time or until you get home and eat a snack.
Kids should be allowed to chew gum in school! First of all we wouldn't have to stick it to the desk, if we were allowed to chew it in school ,because then we could throw it away without getting in trouble. It's not fair that teachers can chew gum, and we can't!
This is something I cant find the reason why it should be forbidden here is the main reason. Chewing gum (especially mint flavor) raises the brain activity.
And there are more reasons why it shouldn't be forbidden. It is not something that disturbs your class, kids chewing gum does not mean that they are gonna stick it under their desk and many more.
Children are known for sticking there gum under desks and other places instead of the trash can.
Because it can be disruptive and people don't do it responsibly-they leave it everywhere.
