Huskies have amazing temperaments! But be careful, huskies are definitely not for everyone.

Huskies are friendly and often timid of new people. I haven't seen a lot of mean huskies, unless they've been abused. Most huskies are friendly, just a little shy.

Huskies are wonderful pets but they come at a price - they have a tendency to get 'bored' and may start destroying things. They are also escape artists. Just a few days ago I had to get my husky Nena off the roof, she climbed out a window.

Every dog goes through it's 'puppy stages', chewing, tearing things up, making messes, which last a few months.

Huskies, on the other hand, may not grow out of it until a year. Nena is a year and half and I still need to set the trash can on the back porch before I leave her at home, once she gets bored she will make HORRIBLE messes. The worst I've ever seen was three trash bags torn up through my house, dirty diapers and everything, all over the floor.

It's hard to make them change, you have to change your own life to fit them.

Lastly, huskies get very lonely, their instincts tell them they should be in a 'pack'. When they're left alone, they don't understand why they were isolated from the pack. I would recommend another dog to keep it company.

Besides they one crippling tendency - messes, messes, messes, huskies make AMAZING pets.

They have wonderful temperaments.

It is usually a myth that any breed of animal is "mean". Just like people, animals have their own distinct personalities, and some are meaner than others. Dogs are mean because they are trained to be mean or are exposed to predominantly aggressive behaviour and other aggressive dogs. Some older Chihuahuas do tend to become quite snappy, but the Chihuahua as a breed is not mean. Some dogs from any breed will be lovely, and others will be snappy and aggressive - it depends on the indivudual. Chihuahuas are not mean. Like many breeds they are protective of their masters. The only true way to get a long haired chihuahua is mom and dad to both be long haired. Once in a blue moon a long hair may pup up in a litter because of the hidden long hair gene that has to be within both parents. So, it can happen but I have never gotten a truly thick long hair chihuahua this way.

You don't find blood on your floor from her getting her period, idk. Let her mate with another dog and if she doesn't get pregnant she's fixed :) Or take her to a vet, they should be able to tell.

Most Chihuahuas do enjoy grooming. If you want to give a chihuahua a bath, just remember that not all chihuahuas like baths. Whether it is their first time or not, not ALL chihuahuas like baths. However, some do like getting bathed. If it is their first time, make them feel comfortable, gently put some water on them, then, once they start getting into the bath, reward them with a treat. This will them better at baths and less scared of the water. Now here is what you do. A average bathtub or a medium/large/small ( depending on your Chihuahua's size) kitchen sink will do ( kitchen sink or bathtub should be easier with a hose, however, if you do not have that choice, you can always use a large cup.) I'd recommend using dog shampoo and conditioner, however, you can use regular shampoo and conditioner, as long as its fragrant free, mild, and you use a small amount. If you are trying to style a Chihuahua's hair, you can only style a long haired chihuahua. I would recommend just doing cute little tiny braids ( so the braids don't have the best chance of getting in knots, I'd recommend taking the long haired chihuahua to a dog hair stylist.), however, if you don't care much for braids, you can always do small pony tails. Just get a nice hair band, (as i would not recommend rubber,) and put the pony tail in nicely. Not too tight, not too loose. You cannot style a short haired, smooth coat, or any chihuahua that does not have a "long-ish" coat. You can buy outfits for

Chihuahuas. I have a couple of outfits for my chihuahua, and they look absolutely ADORABLE. You can find little dog outfits on the Internet, and at most pet stores. Now, best of all, your chihuahua should enjoy being softly brushed. If you don't have one already, go buy a soft bristle small brush from a pet store, or on the Internet. Once you have a brush, the most comfortable way for you to brush your chihuahua, is by simply just siting on the couch, laying in bed, or just relaxing with your little best friend. Grab the brush, let your Chihuahua lay comfortably, and brush him/her. Bonus: this will make their coat even softer.

The term "teacup" is just a marketing tool for small, often unhealthy, Chihuahuas. For a teacup Chihuahua, you need all the items like for a regular Chihuahua plus a very good vet and enough money (vet bills) and time (some require feeding every 2-3 hours including during the night) to spend on this dog.

it depeends, mine is 11 weeks old and is 1.3 pounds, he has small parents, very small ones but they can be lighter or heavier, as long as they are getting the right nutrients each day I guess. Ask your local vet too

It depends on who the breeder is, but, Chihuahuas can be high strung and nervous. Chihuahuas are "lap dogs" and need constant attention. Perhaps there have been changes in your home such as: You've been on a vacation and left the dog with a sitter or in a good kennel. You may have had guests in your house to stay for a few days or, you've been busy socially. You could have had children around. I don't allow our family or guest's children play with my two dogs unless I am right in the room. Children don't mean to be rough, but sometimes are, or, if the breed of dog is small it can make the dog hyper and upset. If your pet has been use to sleeping with you and for some reason he isn't allowed too any longer this can cause him to whine. In general Chihuahuas like things in order and don't like changes in habits and really rely on their owner. To be on the safe side it always wise to take your pet to the vets for a thorough check-up to be sure everything is OK.

The AKC only recognizes one type, a Chihuahua is a chihuahua and that's it. There is no such thing as tea cup, tiny toy, etc. a Chihuahua can range in weight from as little as 3 lbs full grown and up to 10+lbs. Chihuahua's are in the toy family because they typically weigh under 10lbs and that is what puts them in this classification. You can never tell how big or small a Chihuahua pup will be when it is mature. Breeders who sell tea cup chihuahua's are ripping you off. All Chihuahua puppies will most likely fit into a teacup when they are 6 weeks old. I have 3 Adult Chihuahua's weighing 4, 5, and 8lbs. They were each about the size of a coke can when I bought them and they all fit into the palm of my hand.
