First of all, it depends on how big the mother and father are. If it is a standard dachshund, then most likely it would be something around 11-18 pounds, but larger than a miniature Dachshund and Chihuahua mix. On the other hand, a miniature Dachshund and Chihuahua mix should weigh something around 8-10.9 pounds.

Chihuahuas mainly like to be your best friend. They want to do a lot of things with you. Doing everyday things, like taking them for a car ride will excite them. By the way, something I learned recently that the majority of dogs over the age of ten experience dementia. Age, size, health all factor in on when it starts, but most do. There are medicines to help slow age related brain damage - so as soon as you see this in your old dog get them to the vet ASAP to get your fury friend on meds.

Yes. There are long haired chihuahuas mixed with terriers. They look very much like a long haired chihuahua but are slightly larger. They vary in size and can be between 8-15lbs. Mine is about 14 which is on the heavier side.

First of all, you need to research about the chihuahua breed to see i it's the one for you. I have three chihuahuas, and they all got along with my 5 year old standard poodle. Trust me, chihuahuas are a fantastic breed, but make sure it's the right for you. If you have other dogs, keep them away from the chihuahua unless it's under your supervision and controlled. Chihuahuas are very fragile, so if you handle one, please be careful because they are very delicate. Chihuahuas are great with kids once they get older and a little bigger. Chihuahuas are very intelligent dogs, very mellow. They are a little hyper when they are a little younger, bu they mature around 1 year and 5 months of age. It depends on what breed it is. Some will eat anything you give them and therefore overeat. This habit can develope by you only serving your pet specific portions and nothing more until the next schedualed mealtime. This puts your dog in a habit of eating all it is given. If your dog won't overeat then i suggest leaving out a bowl of food all the time. If your dog will, I suggest talking to your vet. He will factor in the breed and size/weight to help you.

I bought my pure bread chi for £2000 however whilst I was choosing from a respectable breeder, there was a tiny tiny chi for sale for £4.500!!!! It totally depends on size and looks the smaller and prettier the dog the more you can charge.

When he pants and shivers it probably means that he is cold at night. That is in most cases, but there is one case that is different. You may need to ask some questions though. Where does your chihuahua mix sleep? What is he mixed with? My aunts chihuahua was mixed with a Mexican hairless dog so it barely had any hair and it was acting like yours. It is probably just a genetic reaction to something that happened when he was born, something he ate, or he just is a regular chihuahua.

Chinchillas are very long lived most people quote around 10-20 years but some have lived until around 30. These are similar to dog life spans. So really you are paying for a companion who will be with you a long time. Incidently the care costs for a chinchilla in terms of food, hay and treats are much less than those of a dog. They are also less likely to need vetanary treatments like vaccinations.
