Not only do courts represent the best interest of the child...but also they represent the interests of the taxpayers. We're the ones who ensure they receive a paycheck every week...so I am not a 100% sure on this but essentially....the answer is NO...they don't pay support. Let me go a bit further and add that the court also will not terminate a parents rights if by doing so it directly puts the burden for taking care of the child (ren) on the taxpayers....so for all those questions about how to terminate a parent's rights...the real answer is in oneself. It they are the deadbeat...let them be. Just ensure that you are a grown up with a full-time job and benefits for your children so that when the time comes...the deadbeats rights will indeed be terminated.

Child support is not based upon how custody is allocated. It is based upon who the child resides with the majority of the time. If the child resides with the mother most of the time, then the mother bears most of the expense of raising the child, therefore the non-present parent is required to pay support. If child resides an equal or almost equal amount of time with both parents, the court evaluates the income/assets of both parents and the needs of the child. The decision will then be made if the payment of child support is warranted, the amount, and which parent should be responsible for payment of such.

No. However, it might be possible for the custodial parent to sue for financial damages incurred because of the non compliance of the obligated parent, depending upon whether or not the state in which the order was issued has a statute of limitations for the action. You can still apply for sole custody, but you would not be awarded custody unless you are able to demonstrate, at the least, that you are financially capable of supporting that child. You should also be able to demonstrate that you will take better care of the child than the other parent. If not, there would not seem to be any basis to award you sole custody. But if the other parent is incompetent in some way, then a legal basis would exist. If both parents turn out to be incompetent then the child can become a ward of the state.

There are not any legal advantages one way or the other, however if the parents introduce themselves as Mr & Mrs "Jones" the child may be more comfortable using the family name. However, if the parents are not married, then why should the child make that commitment if they won't?

You can ask the court that has jurisdiction over your case to do so, but that, in itself, won't get you any money. What you want is an order setting forth the amount of the arrearage and a payment plan.

Research the Laws for your state. most daycare centers have a pic up list and a do not pick up list this list is for the parent to include names of a person or people who can or cannot pick up a child. that is arecord the daycare should have on record so if the person how is not on the pick up list tried to pick up the child the daycare can tell the person " I am sorry but i cannot release the child to anyone who is not on the pick up list" this can be very helpful if the person decides to call the police. However...... if the other parent who will not be allowed access to pick up the child has joint custody it can be a problem. keep in m ind in the day care center your child is nto the only child there so it shold be established who can and cannot pick up the child as soon as possible. parents can become irate and violent even in a daycare if they are denied a right they believe they have.

the legal age is 12 to be left alone with siblings. Keep in mind though that even at 12 some children arnt mature enough to be left alone even without having to care for siblings as well.
