It is assumed she died. Cause not given. Maybe she died in childbirth, which is was a rural health problem more than an Urban one. Somehow it never entered into the plots., No pictures, etc For some reason death in the family ( always off screen)- was a more acceptable plot device than divorce or separation.
There were a lot of great actors in wonderful Westerns, such as "Gunsmoke", "Have Gun, Will Travel", etc. There were comedy shows with people like Lucille Ball, Louie Nye, Ann Sothern, Ozzie & Harriet Nelson. There were drama series such as "Highway Patrol" with Broderick Crawford. There were good shows for children such as My Friend Flicka, Fury, Sea Hunt, etc. The shows then were much better than the majority of the shows today!
