How much do colleges pay attention to your freshman grades?

Not much. Your high school GPA is very important, but your freshman year is probably the least important. If your grades were bad that year, but improved, write a separate note to the school explaining why that happened and why that means they should accept you Most colleges won't even look at freshman year, but if you were falling behind and made a significant improvement they will like that. I've heard that nowadays, more than ever. Stanford has actually started paying attention to 7th grade grades. Soooo yea. But not all colleges have started doing this, nor will they anytime soon. But just remember... The two answers above are incorrect in most circumstances. There are a few schools that ignore 9th grade grades, but only a few. The rest look at cumulative performance beginning in high school. A rising trend helps, but will not completely offset a bad, 9th grade performance.

Who pays for college if your parents get a divorce?

Even though parents get a divorce they each can pay their 1/2 of their child(rens) college. Many students have to put themselves through college, so it may be possible you may have to find work and go to college too. It depends on how financially secure the parents(s) is. Children should never think that it's their parents responsibility alone to put them through college. Work never hurt anyone. In the state of Pennsylvania, over the age of 18 (and graduated from high school) you are considered an adult. Child support ends (unless there are special circumstances) and neither parent is "responsible" to pay for your schooling. Parents are not responsible for higher education. You yourself as an adult are supposed to take care of it. Many parents do help and pay for all of it, but in many cases the parents cant help at all. After you are 18 your education is your responsibility. In some cases depending upon the financial status of both parents, the divorce decree in conjunction with the child support order will stipulate if a parent is responsible for helping or paying for higher education, special needs which pertains to a child with a disability and other such issues. If there are no such terms included in divorce terms, neither parent is obligated to pay college expenses. However, the age of majority in Alabama and Nebraska is 19, and in Mississippi and Pennsylvania it is 21, parent(s) can be legally required to financially support their children at an acceptable level until such ages are reached or until a court rules otherwise.

What companies will pay for college if you want to be an accountant?

There are a lot of companies that will pay for you to go to school, mostly larger companies. Independence Blue Cross will pay for any degree you want, Aetna will reimburse most of your tuition as well. Typically companies will pay for your career advancement considering you're already in an accounting position. There are also companies like Aetna and IBC that just want their employees to get an education. You may have to agree to stay with them for a certain amount of time after, but it's worth it in the end.

Look for a larger company and review their website on what they offer their employees. Government jobs also pay for you to go back to school and get a degree. So look for a job with the city, state or a Federal position.

AnswerYou have it backwards.

Companies will not pay YOU to go to college, they HIRE those that are all ready qualified as Accountants. Those people went to school and got their qualifications first, then went out and found a job.

Start saving up for the cost of that accounting course, and also the cost of living while at college. Most accounting courses are two years long.

AnswerIn the US most accountants have a 4-year degree, plus a CPA certification. You can work in bookkeeping or the accounting department of a company while going to school at night. A few US companies will reimburse you for 1-4 classes per year if you're grades are good, but virtually none will pay for schooling.

If you pay child support do you still have to pay for college living expenses?

It depends on what was stipulated in the custody/child support agreement. In some agreements, it is expressly written that upon graduation from high school and the beginning of college that the father will pay all, or a percentage of tuition and expenses. In some cases it will state only tuition, of that mom and dad will share fifty/fifty. Looks at the child support papers. If it is not noted, look farther, and then re-check with your attorney.

Who paid for Obama's college?

Dr. Khalid Al Mansour was a financial backer and strategic planner for Barack Obama over the span of 29 years. Percy Sutton, attorney revealed this connection in an interview. Mansour solicited a letter of recommendation from Percy Sutton on Obamas behalf to Harvard University. Al Mansour was very well connected with very wealthy Saudis. Among them are one of the richest men in the world, the Saudi Prins Alwaleed. Alwaleed offered a $10 million dollar contribution of the victims of 9-11. The offer was made at the same time as Alwaleed stated that it was the US foreign policy that caused 9-11. The NY Mayor at that time Rudy Guiliani declined the donation and felt insulted by the comments made by the Saudi Prins. Prins Alwaleed may have been the sponsor of the muslim friendly Barack Obama. It is not clear exactly where the money came from. Al Mansour has not told the world about this secret financial arrangement. Obamas family did not have the ability to pay for his college. Additonal information on this subject is requested. Alwaleed donated $20 million to Harvard University to fund Islamic Studies. He also donate large funds to the construction of Mosques and printed Islamic material. What are some ways to pay the retainer fee for a divorce lawyer?

I retained a divorce lawyer (without any kind of money) and it went on for 2 years and some lawyers won't charge you until the case is settled. I finally took the bull by the horns, went to my lawyer and told him to get off his butt! I wasn't happy with the slow pace in which my lawyer was dealing with the divorce as there were no children or properties/monies involved. I marched down to his office and blasted him and I sat there while he phoned my husband's divorce lawyer. Since my husband was the one that was cheating and I proved it, all I had to do was to have my lawyer tell my husband's lawyer that he could foot the bill for the divorce or I would Contest the Divorce! Even though I was going for the divorce myself, I could have tied my ex up in court for as long as 3 years. I was smart enough to realize he had a mistress on the side putting the heat on him, so I went for "contesting" and won. I do live in British Columbia, Canada, so if you are American your laws could be a little different. I suggest you go onto: Type in: What are some ways you can pay a lawyer's retaining fee? Marcy

Free sample of a hardship letter?

A hardship letter is a detail explanation of your financial hardship explaining the details of your situation. It should be genuine, and honest with every detail.

Writing hardship letters does not have to be difficult, but you need to know what your lender is looking for. Many homeowners simply do not understand the basics of writing an effective hardship letter and this is costing them their homes.

Here are some main points in Writing a hardship letter are:1. Subject Line Request - Right off the bat let the loss mitigator know what you are requesting.

2. Brevity - Don't let your financial hardship letter go on for page after page. Keep it as short as possible.

3. Personal - Let the loss mitigator get to know you and your circumstances.

4. Clarity - Get your points across in the clearest possible way and then provide a summary.

5. Information - Make sure you leave nothing out of your financial hardship letter. Attach important information such as bank statements, cash flow documents, income tax statements, letters of reference, etc.

6. Be Appreciative - The person reading this financial hardship letter did not get you into this mess but he or she is the one that can help you out of it. So be thankful and humble in your tone.

How can you pay for college with no co-signer when your mom is a divorced mother with four children and filed bankruptcy four years ago?

Help to AttendCollege

It's you that is going to school, not your mom. So you need to go to the financial aid office of any college you are thinking of going to and tell them there is no help forthcoming from your family. There are plenty of grants and loans, some of which never even need to be paid back.

But, like everything else when you don't understand everything, it's good to get with an expert. And experts love to help! Lack of cash money is the last excuse not to go to college, not the first.
