What texture is in canon in d?

It depends on the what instruments are made and what the music arrangements are like, and how many instruments are played.

False. Both have 4 players. That's why they are called 'quartets' - it means 'consisting of four'.

What is the hardest brahms piano piece?

Hands down, the Brahms- Paganini Variations. Followed by the Handel Variations and Fugue, both mammoth pieces, but hard in different ways. The Paganini Variaions are wicked, fire eating virtuoso pieces. Clara Schumann sourly called them "witch variations", admitting she couldn't even manage them herself.

What was Johannes Brahms religion?

Brahms was brought up a Lutheran protestant.

Apparently, he read the Bible throughout his life, but early on distanced himself from Christian doctrine. He regularly used the Bible as a source of powerful poetry, e. g. in his choral motets op. 29, op. 47, and op. 110, as well as in his "Four Serious Songs" and in the "German Requiem".

However, when reading the texts chosen for the latter carefully, you will notice that all the texts are about the human condition in general, about grief, suffering, the vanity of human existence, and about the promise of consolation. All direct connections to Christ, to the resurrection, or to sin and forgiving are carefully avoided. In a letter written short before the first performance, Brahms all but renounced Christian doctrine explicitly when referring to John 3:16 ("For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.") and saying that he would do rather without that line.

This was noticed by Brahms' contemporaries immediately. When the German Requiem was first performed in Bremen cathedral, on Good Friday, 1868, the conductor suggested to insert movements by Bach and Handel to make up for the lack of a statement of specifically Christian belief.

Who is the composer of pie jesu?

Pie Jesu from Requiem (1893) by Gabriel Faure

There are many different composers:

Pie Jesu is derived from the final couplet of the Dies irae and it can be included in the Requiem Mass.

The settings of the Requiem Mass by Luigi Cherubini, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Duruflé, John Rutter, Karl Jenkins and Fredrik Sixten include a Pie Jesu as an independent movement.

"Of all these, by far the best known is the Pie Jesu from Fauré's Requiem; Camille Saint-Saëns said of it, "just as Mozart's is the only Ave verum corpus, this is the only Pie Jesu"

What is classical and what is romantic in Beethoven's Fifth Symphony?

1. The forms in movements 1, 2, and 4: the first movement is in sonata form, the second is a theme and variations, and the fourth is again in sonata form. The Symphony is clearly Romantic in style and has a Romantic theme. The form in the third movement is scherzo-trio, which is a Romantic innovation derived from the minuet-trio that is commonly associated with the Classical period. Also, there are sudden changes in tempo and mood within each movement. I would not call this a Classical symphony. It sounds too far different than one by Haydn or Mozart.
