I only have a black screen and a mouse arrow but nothing else works what is the issue?
Reboot into safe mode (By pressing the F8 key when you start your computer) and see if you get the windows screen. If it is black in safe mode then means your windows is corrupted. If you can see the screen that means windows is ok. Run msconfig under safe mode then reboot and see if everything works.

I made the mistake of installing Cyberdefender before reading the reviews on Cnet.com, etc. Uninstalling it proved to be one of the worst experiences ever. It leaves a toolbar on Internet Explorer called 'My Identity Defender'. No place in add/remove programs to uninstall it. Avast Antivirus alerts me that it's a trojan every time I launched Internet Explorer. I had to go into C:\Documents and Settings, then look in a user subfolder (you may need to open all the folders under Documents and Settings to see which one it's in). There I found a Cyberdefender folder. I deleted the folder, then ran Malwarebytes (free) and Spyware Doctor to see what it found. I then ran Glary Registry Repair (free). It deleted a few Cyberdefender registry entries. Problem was solved! Had I known System Restore works, I would have used that instead and saved lots of research.
