Crabs

Not carrots. We tried to feed one a baby carrot today and he kept bringing it out of his little tunnel. It was so cute actually. We would set it in his tunnel and he would carry it out with his big claw and THROW it. He entertained us for quite a while.

Crabs are generally sea-dwelling, while shrubs grow on land. Not much chance for crabs to eat shrubs.

They like all types of shells... You must keep a few different types of the right sized shell in your tank so they can choose what they like best... Hermit crabs like to switch shells often, and many times they will switch to a shell and switch right back to their old one as a sort of "buyers remorse".... Make sure the shells you keep are a bit larger than the ones your crabs are currently in, and the new ahells shouldn't have anything inside like sharp edges... The shells are their way of protecting their sensative abdomen and if the shell has sharp spots or debris inside it could injure your crab

SUnshine Crabs are Omnivoures so they will eat plants, dead fish, pellets, or you can try frozen fish food for Omnivoures. They are typically scavengers to begin with so they shouldn't be to finicky with what they are eating.

Yes. But they can't catch them. The little critters, those hermit crabs, are scavengers. And they will eat dead fish or just about anything else if given the chance.

Exo means outside so an exoskeleton is a skeleton or hard covering that covers the outside of the body such as a crab or grasshopper.

They cannot live with a land hermit crab because land hermit crabs live out of water so the fish would die (as you know) if it is out of water.

The boxer crab carries small anemones on its front legs to ward off attackers. The anemone might benefit by getting to eat the boxer crab's leftover food. If both benefit, it's mutualism. If only one benefits and the other is unharmed, it's commensalism.

I don't know about the volume, but it is supposedly green (Copper based) instead of red (Iron based). I have never cut a Horseshoe Crab myself, as I find them kinda freaky in a prehistoric way.

I believe that you do not die from having a horseshoe kidney. If you do have it, you may have side affects such as not going to the bathroom as much.

It will only die after a week or so if you don't take good care of it. If you do take care of it, it could live up to 20 years.

They change shells because the hermit crabs will grow like us humans. Just imagine that if you were a human and had a shell, you would want to change right?? They like alot of differetnt colors and styles. They outgrow their own shells and need new ones once and awhile. :) I own three myself.
