How the world was created in panayan version?
One of the stories about the creation of the world, which the old folks of Panay,
especially those living near the mountain, do not tire relating, tells us that in the
beginning there was no heaven or earth-only a bottomless deep and a world of mist.
Everything was shapeless and formless-the earth, the sky, the sea, and the air were
almost all mixed up.
Then from the depth of this formless void, there
appeared two gods, -Tungkung Langit and Alunsina. Just
where the two deities came from it was not known. However,
it is related that Tungkung Langit fell in love with Alunsina
and, after so many years of courtship, they got married and
had their abode in the highest realm of the eternal space
where the water was constantly warm and the breeze was
forever cool. It was in this place where order and regularity
first took place.
Tungkung Langit was an industrious, loving, and kind
god whose chief concern was how to impose order over the
whole confused set-up of things. He assumed responsibility for the regular cosmic
movement. On the other hand, Alunsina was a lazy, jealous, and selfish goddess whose
only work was to sit by the window of their heavenly home, and amuse herself with her
pointless thoughts. Sometimes, she would go down from the house, sit down by a pool
near their doorstep and comb her long, jet-black hair all day long.
One day Tungkung Langit told his wife that he would be away from home for
sometime to put an end to the chaotic disturbances in the flow of time and in the
position of things. The jealous Alunsina, however, sent the sea breeze to spy on
Tungkung Langit. This made the latter very angry upon knowing about it.
Immediately after his return from the trip, he called this act to her attention
saying that it was ungodly of her to be jealous, there being no other creature living in the
world except the two of them. This reproach was resented by Alunsina, and a quarrel
between them followed.
Tungkung Langit lost his temper. In this rage, he divested his wife of powers and
drove her away. No one knew where Alunsina went; she merely disappeared.
Several days after Alunsina left, however, Tungkung Langit felt very lonely. He
realized what he had done. Somehow, it was too late even to be sorry about the whole
matter. The whole place once vibrant with Alunsina's sweet voice, suddenly became
cold and desolate. In the morning, when he woke up he would find himself alone and in
the afternoon when he came home, he would feel the same loneliness creeping deep in
his heart because there was no one to meet him at the doorstep or soothe the aching
muscles of his arms.
For months, Tungkung Langit lived in utter desolation. He could not find
Alunsina, try hard as he would. And so, in his desperation, he decided to do something
in order to forget his sorrows. For months and months he thought. His mind seemed
pointless, his heart, weary, and sick. But he must have to do something about his
loneliness.
One day, while he was sailing across the regions of the clouds, a thought came
to him. He would make a big basin of water below the sky so that he can see the image
of his wife, if she were just somewhere in the regions above. And lo! The sea appeared.
However, Alunsina was never seen.
After a long time, the somber sight of the lonely sea irritated Tungkung Langit.
So he came down to the Middleworld and created the land; then he planted this with
grasses, trees, and flowers. He took his wife's treasured jewels and scattered them in
the sky, hoping that when Alunsina would see them she might be induced to return
home. The goddess' necklace became the stars, her comb the moon, and her crown the
sun. However, despite all these Alunsina did not come back.
And up to this time, the folks in Panay say that Tungkung Langit is alone in his
palace in the skies. Sometimes, he would cry out of his pent-up emotions and his tears
would fall down upon the earth. The people say that rain is Tungkung Langit's tears and
that is why in some localities in the island of Panay, the first rain in May is received with
much rejoicing and sacrifice. Incidentally, when it thunders hard, the old folks also say
that it is Tungkung Langit sobbing, calling for his beloved Alunsina to come back -
entreating her so hard that his voice thunders across the fields and countryside.
What flaws are in creationism?
The major flaws of the creationist theory (using the term theory very loosely, as compared to proper scientific theories there is no objective, substantianted evidence) are in its subjective deductions:
1. The universe is complex from a macro to a micro scale, therefore there is an intelligent designer/creator.
The fact that the universe is complex in no way infers that a creator or designer is responsible for it. Furthermore, one could argue that if the universe were designed, the entity responsible did a really bad job:
Macro Design Flaws
Micro Design Flaws
2. The universe had a beginning, and a beginning must have a cause outside of itself.
In Indo-German languages (which includes English) a verb must have a subject, and thus an effect must have an independent cause. It is therefore tempting to assume that this grammatical rule is also a law of nature - but it is not. Also, many languages exist which do not have this grammatical rule, and it is no surprise that they have given rise to cultures and philosophies that view the universe very differently (e.g. Daoism).
Quantum theory has proven that objective observation is impossible (i.e. that observing an effect actually influences it - the Heisenberg Principle), and that all matter and energy in the universe is interconnected, with quantum "wavicles" spontaneously arising and dissapearing. This concept is very counter-intuitive to human beings because within our limited scope of perception things appear to be very different. Modern quantum physics has solid theories backed up by decades of research that can explain a universe giving rise to itself. Creationism only offers a subjective deduction without any solid research or evidence that would withstand scientific scrutiny.
3. The creator of the universe is an intelligent designer who exactly and only fits the description of the God of the Bible
Creationism offers no objective rationale for this statement, its largest leap of deduction: it is one thing to argue that the universe was created (i.e. Deism) than to state that this creator would exactly and only correspond to that of one belief system among many (i.e. Theism), on a single planet, orbiting a common yellow dwarf, in the extremis of a single spiral of a galaxy among billions of galaxies in the universe.
De-creation is when sin triumphs over evil. Genesis is like a 3 act play:
Creation------God creates (and everything is good)
De-creation--Sin destroyes
Re-creation--God saves
In de-creation, sin triumphs over evil and that is the cause of the shortening life spans.
What is the correct order of this question was the woman made for the man or man for the woman?
Woman was made for man to be his helpmate(Genesis 2:18). She was created 'for the man'(1 Corinthians 11:7-9)and built from man's rib (Genesis 2:22-23). The scripture at 1 Corinthians 11:12 sums it up by saying:"...the woman is OUT of the man, and the man is THROUGH the woman..."
How were man and woman created?
Bible Answer:
(Genesis 2:7) ". . .And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."(KJV)
(Genesis 2:21, 22) ". . .Then the Lord God cast a deep sleep upon Adam: and when he was fast asleep, he took one of his ribs, and filled up flesh for it. And the Lord God built the rib which he took from Adam into a woman: and brought her to Adam." (DRA)
Man was created from the dust of the Earth. God breathed life into him and he became a living being with an eternal soul and spirit. Woman was created from one of the Man's ribs - hence the name "Woman" - from Man.
Of course not every one believes in Adam and Eve, some people believe in the theory of evolution meaning that we evolved from other life forms. This has been a question for the ages, so we will probably never know in our life time., as long as people do not shove religion down each other's throats we can all believe what we want to believe!
The answer has been known to man for over 2000 years, he just refuses to believe it. No one in the history of the human race has ever or can ever come up with a better explanation.
God created them (Genesis ch.1 and 2). With the exception of mankind, we are only told what God made, not how He made it. That fact is in order to stress mankind's importance.
To make man, God fashioned the appropriate shape from dirt and breathed a soul into it (Genesis ch.2). He then made the first woman by fashioning her from a piece of the man's flesh (ibid).

What is the order of the second Genesis creation story?
The order of creation in the second creation story of Genesis (Gen 2:4b-25) is: (i) man (Adam),
(ii) the beasts of the field and birds,
(iii) woman (Eve).
Plants grew when God made it rain, but they were already in the earth (Gen 2:5).
This account is older in Judaism and more primitive than the first creation story of Genesis, and does not have God creating the sun, moon and stars. The order of creation is given but the story does not say how long creation took, except that it must have been completed before the birth of Cain.

What does the creation story tell us about humankind?
The Creation Account in Genesis tells us how the two God beings, Elohim, created man from the dust of the ground and breathe life into him and made him a living soul (nephesh) in the image of God. He is taken and placed into a newly formed Garden or Paradise and 'walks with God,' learning all that God teaches him. He is above all the other creatures of Creation and names each.
God sees the Man is alone and puts him into a deep sleep and creates the woman (out of man). She is made in the image of man. Together they walk in the Garden with God.
Then after much learning of the Law of God, the one prohibition of not eating of a particular tree happens - the woman is deceived by a serpent and the man listens to her and eats of the fruit - disobeying God's Law. Their minds are opened to the knowledge of good and evil and God removes them from the Garden and announces their punishment as well as, the serpents. They had fallen short and sinned. They were banned from the tree of Eternal Life and needed a Savior to reestablished their link to Salvation.
The account in Genesis continues with man going fully the wrong way and God destroying all but 8 people in a worldwide Flood. The offspring to follow expand throughout the Earth. The 1st Apostasy happens through one line while the plan of Salvation for mankind occurs through another. God calls out the descendants of Abraham to be a perfect example to all of mankind. But like all humans, they failed over and over again. Yet the promise of a Savior - the Sceptre promise began in Judah.
The above is just a recap of Genesis. There is more about humankind to discover in its chapters.

What does the creation story mean to the people who believe in it?
Assuming you are talking about the Bible creation story fround in the first 2 chapters of Genesis: It may mean a number of different things.
One thing it often means is ridicule - "You don't believe that do you?" And it may be less obvious, in that people will automatically discount the intelligence of a person who believes that stuff, since 'we know' and 'science has proved' that the creation story didn't happen.
Secondly, it may mean that an intimidated person will seek to re-interpret the creation account to make it fit with modern science. This will of course make it mean something different than what it clearly says, in context.
Thirdly, it may lead to confidence that the Bible is true from the very first verse. This is so because of the large amount of hard scientific evidence on this very issue, which favours belief in creation. Of course belief preceded the evidence and it is generally the very same evidence which evolutionists use to support their theory. The difference is the way the evidence is interpreted.
Does the creationism act violate the establishment clause of the first amendment?
Yes, as determined by the Supreme Court of the United States of America in 1987 (Edwards vs. Aguillard), creationism cannot be taught in public schools as doing so would violate the US constitution.
What are pros and cons of creationism?
Pros of creationism:
Cons of creationism:
What is the source for creating the universe and why it was created?
Scientists say the universe was created by the 'Big Bang', the single cosmic event that created matter out of nothing. This is still a hypothesis and therefore, like the religious explanations is also unproven. Its advantage, if any, is that it is consistent with known science and does not require the complication of a creator god, whose existence must then be explained.

What did God do in the third creation story?
The Torah states that it was written in its entirety by one author, Moses (Deuteronomy 31:24), to whom it was dictated by God (Exodus 24:12), including earlier events.
The Torah has one creation-narrative, which takes the form of a summary (Genesis ch.1) followed by an in-depth recap (Rashi commentary, Genesis 2:8).
Other mentions of Creation (Psalms, Isaiah, Job) are poetic, not meant to supplant or alter the details in Genesis.
When we see a newspaper whose opening headline is paraphrased in the detailed story, we don't ascribe the repetition to different writers.
But this kind of literary device, which the Torah employs to enrich its text, has been used by Bible-critics in an attempt to reassign and divide up its authorship.
The Jewish sages, based on ancient tradition, identified many of the literary devices used by the Torah, which include:
- recapping earlier brief passages to elucidate,
- employing different names of God to signify His various attributes,
- using apparent changes or redundancies to allude to additional unstated details,
- speaking in the vernacular that was current during each era,
and many more. While Judaism has always seen the Torah as an intricate tapestry that nonetheless had one Divine source, some modern authors such as Wellhausen (the father of modern Biblical-criticism, 1844-1918) have suggested artificially attributing the narrative to several unknown authors, despite the Torah's explicit statement as to its provenance (Exodus 24:12, Deuteronomy 31:24). This need not concern believers, since his claims have been debunked one by one, as archaeology and other disciplines have demonstrated the integrity of the Torah. No fragments have ever been found that would support his Documentary Hypothesis, which remains nothing more than an arbitrary claim:
Refuting the JEPD Documentary Hypothesis
The creation-narrative in Genesis (a Christian author)
The authorship of the Hebrew Bible
A summary of the Creation-narrative is that, day by day, God created the universe and everything in it (Genesis ch.1).God created the universe out of nothing (Exodus 20:11, Isaiah 40:28; Rashi commentary to Genesis 1:14; Maimonides' "Guide," 2:30). Note that the Torah, in describing the Creation, deliberately employs brevity and ellipsis, just as it does in many other topics. See the Talmud, Hagigah 11b.

What are the Christian views on how the world was created?
Christian views on how the world was created vary widely, from belief that the Bible inerrantly describes creation, to an acceptance of the natural processes that created the world over four billion years ago. The decision as to what an individual believes is often based on choosing between faith and reason. In much of Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the scientific explanation is almost universally accepted, while in the United States and the emerging nations of Africa a more Bible-based view is held by the majority of Christians.
Why do Christians disagree with the interpretations of the creation story?
There is not just one, but two quite different creation stories in the Book of Genesis, at Genesis 1:1-2:4a and 2:4b-20. Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that pious readers, believing that the text cannot contain contradictions, ignore the major disjunctions between the two creation stories and tend to treat the second story as the fuller, more detailed account of the creation of man (and woman) that the first story simply reported - but this is not the case. He says that if we mean to understand each story on its own terms, we must scrupulously avoid reading into the second story any facts or notions taken from the first, and vice versa. For example, in reading about the origin of man in the story of the Garden of Eden, we must not say or even think that man is here created in God's image or that man is to be the ruler over the animals.
There is no wonder that Christians disagree about the meaning of the biblical creation. The stories themselves beg to be misunderstood. For more information, please visit: http://christianity.answers.com/theology/the-story-of-creation
What is the purpose of God's creation?
The Bible is very clear in that the purpose of creation of God's creation is to glorify him.PSA 19:1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
If we honestly look at creation around us the thinking person will understand that there is a Creator.
How did Creationism originate?
The bible...
People who believe the Bible is a word for word, literal expression of history, believe it shows the world is 5000ish years old and was created in 7 days because that is what the bible says so...
Evidences suggests the earth is millions of years old
The bible actually has 2 creation stories of the world
and a lot of non factual data, but many people don't take it literally. They take it as a figurative book with lessons on how we should act and live our lives
Where are Dinosaurs written about in the Creation story?
The creation story was written before anyone had any knowledge of dinosaurs. Furthermore, the same can be said about kangaroos, which also don't appear in the story.
In other words, not every animal is mentioned by name.
The story was writen before any knowledge of the age of the Earth was known, but this does not lessen the ethical teachings of the story.
