What did god created during the 7 days of creation?

The universe in general (Genesis 1:1)light; day and night

the firmament (expanse; atmosphere; vault of the heavens)

the continents (by separating dry land and the seas)

plants

the sun, moon and stars

birds and fish

land animals

mankind.

The light of the first three days was not the sun; it was light that had no physical source, and it was later concealed from us.

Genesis ch.2 is not taken into account here because according to tradition, there is only one Genesis creation-narrative, with ch.2 serving as an expansion of the brevity of ch.1, not a separate set of events (Rashi commentary, Gen.2:8). In ch.1, God created the universe from nothing (Exodus 20:11, Isaiah 40:28; Maimonides' "Guide," 2:30; Targum and Nachmanides on Gen. 1:1; Rashi commentary, Gen.1:14), and in ch.2, God performed specific acts within the broader picture.

How could a new universe be created from a big crunch?

For starters, the universe was formed from a big bang not crunch. When the big bang happened a bunch of rocks and gases were in space. The rocks and gases then clumped together and then planets were formed.

How did God explain his creation after each day?

By saying that each created thing was good (Genesis ch.1), God thereby explained that the created things were purposeful and meaningful.

Day by day, God created the universe and its contents (Genesis ch.1).God created the universe out of nothing (Exodus 20:11, Isaiah 40:28; Rashi commentary to Genesis 1:14; Maimonides' "Guide," 2:30).Note that the Torah, in describing the Creation, deliberately employs brevity and ellipsis, just as it does in many other topics. See the Talmud, Hagigah 11b.

  • On day 1: God created the universe in general, light, and this Earth. The light was not the same as that of the sun. Rather, it was light that God created before the sun, and which emanated from a point in space without any physical source; like what we might term a "white hole."
  • On day 2: God created the separation between the Earth and the upper atmosphere.
  • On day 3: God separated the continents from the oceans, and created plants.
  • On day 4: God created the sun, moon, and stars.
  • On day 5: God created birds and fish.
  • On day 6: God created animals and people.
  • On day 7: God ceased creating, thereby creating the concept of rest.

The six days of God's Creation?

The days of Creation have always been a matter of debate. Not all believed in a literal 6 24 hour days like the Post Roman Catholic fundamentalists. In fact most did not think this is what was meant here. Many early church fathers saw the first 7 days as 7,000 years. The Bible makes two interesting statements, one in 1 Peter (a day unto the Lord is as 1,000 years unto man) and the other in Psalms 90 that led many early Rabbis and even the students of the apostles to believe they could each have been 1,000 or more years. Why? Because the number 1,000 to the ancient Hebrews was an almost uncountable sum that could represent more than 1,000 because the text in Psalms implies 1,000 years to man is like a blink of God's eye. It is said that Gid is the owner of the cattle of 1,000 hills but in truth they are all His and there are many more than a mere 1,000 hills, Therefore before Adam we are speaking of days as God saw them not as man sees them. The bible always speaks in terms of 10's of 1,000's and we have summations like 10,000 x 10,000 and never millions or billions. A great scientifically oriented perspective comes from MIT Professor Dr. Gerald Schroeder titled "The Age od the Universe". I recommend reading this before coming to any dogmatic conclusions. Paul

What is the order of events of God's creation from the first to the seventh day?

Day by day, God created the universe and its contents (Genesis ch.1).God created the universe out of nothing (Exodus 20:11, Isaiah 40:28; Rashi commentary to Genesis 1:14; Maimonides' "Guide," 2:30).Note that the Torah, in describing the Creation, deliberately employs brevity and ellipsis, just as it does in many other topics. What was created on the fourth day?

Day by day, God created the universe and its contents (Genesis ch.1).God created the universe out of nothing (Exodus 20:11, Isaiah 40:28; Rashi commentary to Genesis 1:14; Maimonides' "Guide," 2:30).Note that the Torah, in describing the Creation, deliberately employs brevity and ellipsis, just as it does in many other topics. How did God make things?

Dear asker

May I submit my opinion only regarding your question. As space is not empty but consists of spirit matter and the force which governs it. The spirit matter is so fine that it is not visible. The force is the power of God. He has the power to organize that matter to any form he so desires. Now comes the tricky bit. If God is able to organise that spirit matter then it must have some degree of intelligence to be able to obey. A grain of sand is made up of atoms so that we can see it, but it's intelligence is still only that of a grain of sand as it is with all things. It is this writers opinion that all that we see around us, including man was made spiritually before being sent to earth. The scriptures tell us that God made man from the dust of the earth and placed in him his spirit (And intelligence) so that he became a living thing. This may also apply to the first animals and plant life.

The scriptures tell us that they were on earth before Adam because Adam had to name all of them. The way is now paved so that through the natural process of procreation these waiting spirits may come to earth in their own allotted time and place. Remember this is only the opinion of this writer.

How old are the pillars of creation?

The Pillars of Creation are a star-forming region in the Eagle Nebula, estimated to be about 5.7 million years old. The iconic pillars themselves are no longer standing as they were destroyed by a nearby supernova explosion approximately 6,000 years ago.

How many light years is Sirius from the sun?

Sirius is located about 8.6 light years away from the Sun.

What is a sentence with creation?

The artist put her heart and soul into the creation of a stunning masterpiece.

Are any know stars 100000 light years away?

No. The Milky Way Galaxy is approximately 100,000 light years in diameter. The Solar System is about 26,000 light years from the center of the galaxy. Thus the furthest stars which are in the galaxy would be about 74,000 light years away but we can't actually see them because there is too much gas and dust and other stars in the way. The Milky Way does have four dwarf galaxies nearby. two of them are closer than 100,000 light years. The other two, the Magellanic Clouds are farther, 160,00 and 200,000 light years away, respectively. Individual stars can be seen in those galaxies and imortant studies of them have been made. In particular, study of the cepheid variable stars in those galaxies showed a simple mathematical relationship between their pariod of variability and their absolute magnitude, or brightness. Once the actual distance to a nearby cepheid was determined, this allowed us to calculate the distances to all known cepheid variables, including those in the Magellanic Clouds and other galaxies out to a few million light years distance.

Is creationism credible?

There are at least two, quite different forms of creationism, and the question of whether creationism is credible must be applied separately to each. No doubt, both Young-Earth creationism and Old-Earth creationism are credible to their proponents, but the question must be whether they are credible to other well informed people.
Young-Earth creationism holds that the Earth is only a few thousand years old, usually around six thousand. However, science has proven conclusively that the world is billions of years old, so this can not be credible. Because of the overwhelming evidence that the world is certainly more than six thousand years old, some Young-Earth creationists have adapted Young-Earth creationism by saying that each of the days stated in Genesis chapter 1 was really an almost indefinite period of time. According to this version, the world could be many thousands of years old. This not only undermines the standard Young-Earth creationism argument, but it is even less credible, given that there is no supporting evidence for this, not even biblical evidence.

Old-Earth creationism accepts the scientific evidence for the great age of the Earth, so from this point of view it is more credible than Young-Earth creationism. Nevertheless, some Old-Earth creationists say that God created all living things just as they are today. Others accept that species evolved, but say that this was not the result of natural selection but Intelligent Design. Both versions of Old-Earth creationism fail in the face of scientific evidence, although Intelligent Design is more sophisticated and therefore somewhat more credible. Intelligent Design is also claimed by some Young-Earth creationists, perhaps because it has captured the imagination of a proportion of the population, but it seems inherently an Old-Earth creationism concept.

Ultimately credibility comes down to whether a hypothesis is compatible with the scientific evidence. Creationists do not put forward scientific evidence to support their hypotheses, instead proposing various ways in which they believe they can undermine the evidence for evolution. Occasionally, scientists respond (eg. Dawkins, Perakh, et al)and demonstrate the failure of these arguments. So, to be credible, creationism has to adapt further, until its claims are at least somewhat consistent with the scientific evidence.

On what day did God create the atmosphere or firmament?

Since the early centuries of the Common Era, tradition has held that Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning God created heaven and earth." But as long ago as the eleventh century CE, the influential Jewish scholar, Rashi, said that Genesis 1:1 should really be read, "When God began to create" or "In the beginning of God's creation ". E.A. Speiser, in Genesis (Anchor Bible series), goes further and translates the sentence as: "When God set about to create heaven and earth - the world being a formless waste, with darkness over the seas... God said, 'Let there be light.' And there was light." The creation account in Genesis 1:1 to 2:4a ( up to first sentence of 2:4) says there was a pre-existing watery chaos. The ocean was already present and a wind (poetically, the spirit of God) moved across the surface of the waters. So the atmosphere was also present.

The firmament was an imaginary dome that separated the waters above from the waters below (Genesis 1:7), created on day 2.

What was eve made of?

From the same material which Adam was made of. God commanded the elements that were already in existence to come together and form both man and woman. The term Dust of the earth and God took a rib from Adam and made woman, are but figurative. He then put into both their spirits so that they became living beings. As element has intelligence it has to obey a higher law, God.

What day did God create the stars?

The 4th day.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights (stars) in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Why did god make a comet?

From a religious perspective, it is believed that God created comets as part of the natural order of the universe to serve various purposes such as contributing to the formation of celestial bodies or serving as messengers of change. In some faith traditions, comets are seen as symbols of divine intervention or as signs of important events.

Why is the science creation story important?

There is no science creation story. There are scientific theories concerning the creation and development of the universe, the formation of the solar system and the earth and the emergence and evolution of life.

What is the scientology creation story?

I don't know if this will help but...75 million years ago, an evil lord named Xenu created and controlled seventy-six planets in this corner of the galaxy, each of them were overpopulated. To solve this problem, Xenu rounded up 17.8 trillion aliens and then flew them to Earth, where they were thrown into volcanoes in Hawaii and vaporized with bombs. This scattered their souls, or thetans, until they were caught in electronic traps set up around the atmosphere and "implanted" with a number of false ideas - including the concepts of God, Christ and organized religion. After that they were set free to roam the Earth and found human bodies to live in.

What did God create on day 6?

On day 6, God created land animals, including livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals. He also created humanity in his own image, male and female, giving them dominion over all living creatures on Earth.

What was the second thing God made?

In the first biblical creation account (Genesis 1:1-2:4a), the first thing that God made was light, then the second thing was the firmament that separated the waters above from the waters below. The firmament was conceived as a dome into which the sun, moon and stars would be placed. We now know that the firmament does not really exist, so the second thing that God made, after separating the pre-existing dry land from the waters, would then have to be grass and then the herbs and fruit trees (1:11)

The second biblical creation account (Genesis 2:4a and following) is more primitive, but Adam was the first creation, made from the dirt. God made him into a living soul. The second creation seems to be the garden he planted.

How is light years used in science measurement?

A light year is the distance light travels in a year. That is roughly 6,000,000,000,000 miles (six trillion miles). Thus such a unit is used only to measure the largest distances, those between stars and galaxies.

Is it true that science and religion must be in conflict in relation to the creation of the world?

There may be a conflict on how Christianity views the world with Science. Since your question says "Religion" and not specifically Christianity, then, the Dalai Lama (Buddhism) wrote in his book, "The Universe in a Single Atom" (Morgan Road Books): "My confidence in venturing into science lies in my basic belief that as in science so in Buddhism, understanding the nature of reality is pursued by means of critical investigation: if scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims."

  • Answer 2
Science and religion need not be in conflict. If you believe that God formed our world slowly through old-Earth Creationism, or if you scientifically determine that young-Earth Creationism is the most logical origin for the universe, your belief in God and your scientific knowledge can actually support each other.
Many think that science, and specifically Evolution, have proved that there is no God. They don't comprehend that even if Evolution was an unquestionable fact, it would not automatically follow that God isn't there. They also may be unaware that there are some highly-qualified scientists who do not believe in Evolution.
