How to get credit rating removed?

If the credit rating is factual then it can't be removed till 6-7 years has pasted. If the derog/negative information has past few years then it won't be very significant if you've paid and kept your balances low since then. If the consumer feels it's bad and has an explaination to a bad rating, he/she can put a consumer narrative on thier credit bureau. A consumer narrative is a brief explaination that can be put on the consumer's credit bureau file so that when a lender/merchant pulls a credit bureau file, they will know that the consumer has looked at thier own file and has given an explaination.

If the credit rating is NOT factual then the consumer needs to report it to the credit bureau and to the merchant to investigate before correcting the rating.

The credit report holder can check his or her report as often as they choose. When you check your credit report it is considered a "soft inquiry" and will not affect your status.

What is the meaning of credit rating in simple language?

Will credit card increase my score?

That depends on the consumer using the credit card. Paying on time and keeping low balances will keep your good credit standing ...good. Not paying on time and having the balance close to the credit limit will decrease your credit score dramatically

Having a lot of credit cards is not good either because the risk of possibly being in debt is high.

Also if you apply for a new credit card it will reduce your credit score because it's consider a new loan with no credit history, as the credit card gets older and more established the score will go back up.

How long can credit card companies put you in bad credit standing?

First of all, it's not really the credit card company putting a consumer in bad credit standing. It's due to the consumer not paying thier bill on time.

Will your bad credit rating vanish after seven years if debt is not paid?

Is there a card number and name holder and the code and expiry?

Most cards have all four of these fields.

The card number is usually a sixteen digit number in the following format: #### #### #### #### with cards such as VISA and Mastercard etc but can vary.

The name holder will be the person or company written on the card in upper-case letters. When entering card information to make purchases via the Internet it's advised to follow the format ie include middle names, periods/full stops and use capital/upper case where applicable.

The expiry is the month and year the card expires, in most cases the following format: mm/yy

the code usually refers the CVN (Card Verification Number) and is a often located on the back of the card. It is usually three digits but can sometimes have seven digits however in my experience you need only enter the last three

Can a husband who is unable to obtain a credit card use his wife's extremely good credit rating obtain a credit card on line without his wife's knowledge?

No, because when the credit card company access the credit bureau, they access the name who applies for the credit card, not the spouse's name. It's the primary cardholder who is fully responsible for the debit.

If the wife gives her husband an authorized user card from her credit cards and the husband doesn't pay. The wife's credit card will be destroyed if she doesn't pay the debit (even the charges he makes)

So make sure you both keep your credit cards separate so that you both maintain your own good credit histories. Especially (heaven forbid) you both separate/divorce

What is the role of credit information and credit documents in the credit contract?

A bank will collect all relevant credit inforamtion from the borrower and surety to pass on this information tothe Credit Information Bureau of India Ltd., (CIBIL) who will store all the credit related information about the borrowers in their data base. These information will be updated at frequent intervals for the benefit of the banks. If any bank wants to extend a loan or financiala facility they will first look into CIBIL report which will give all positive as well as negative information about a borrower. This information will contain all the relevant details of the borrower like his name, age, address, the loan amount, purpose loan, the instalments to be paid, loan amount paid so far, how much is due, the surety's name, his age and address, etc. It will not contain any personal information about the borrower like whether he is divorced or not, how many children he has, etc. Based on his past record of payments points will be awarded by CIBIL. The more the points, higher will be the credit rating. CIBIL will never recommend or interfere or impose a decision on the banker. What it does is that it will provide credit report about a borrower. It is for the banks to decide to give a loan or not to a borrower or to a new loan applicant.

Credit documents are documents evidencing that a borrower has taken a loan on a particular date, for a particular purpose, from a bank and how much loan was asked for by the applicant and how much the bank has given him, etc. These documents are necessary to prove its claim before a Court of Law. It is contract between the banker and the bank.
