No, Mark Kamps was the sound supervisor for "Criminal Minds." He died at a young age of 44 in Ventura, California.
Jason Gideon was played by Mandy Patinkin and starred in 47 episodes. Why did he leave? Basically he failed to turn up for a table read and later referred to "personal reasons" for not wishing to continue with the show. He was unhappy with the level of violence portrayed on the show. He left the show to pursue more lighthearted work.
