What natural event is explained in the myth Icarus and Daedalus?
The myth does not describe a natural event, though I have seen it described as an allegory for the dangers of traveling by ship across the open sea.

Where is Daedalus on HorseIsle?
Daedalus lives on Hoof Isle, Iron Avenue to be exact.
To get to Hoof Isle, cross the bridge on the south-east end of the beach of Horse Isle (I suggest starting from somewhere around Appleton so you can head almost straight East and be very close to the bridge).
Once you've crossed the bridge, you'll come to the direction sign. Follow the path SOUTH until you come to the town. Go past the wagon station, and you'll eventually come to a paved road (Steel Street). Follow this until the rock shop at the end. There is a road going north (this is Iron Avenue). Daedalus is the first house on the left side. =)

What is one potential interpretation of The Story of Daedalus and Icarus?
One possible interpretation of it is the foolishness of humankind to try and assume the powers of God. Daedalus succeeded in his attempts to fly with home-made wings, but was careful in his flight not to get to close to the Sun. His son Icarus got carried away, DID fly too close to the Sun despite his father's warnings, which resulted in the wax holding the feathers together in his wings to melt and for him to fall to his death. If the Sun represents God, Daedalus can be taken to represent the sensible and humble aspect of humanity that makes no assumptions that it is equal to Him and respects it's place in the hierarchy of Creation, whereas Icarus can be taken to be the arrogant, know-all aspect of humanity that believes that it can discount God as the final almighty power and meets a sticky end as a result. It's a bit like a diluted version of Milton's 'Paradise Lost'.
