You should NOT, ever take these medications together. There is absolutely no need for anyone to take two narcotics together. Darvocet is used for mild to moderate pain, Percocet is used for moderate to severe pain. They are not prescribed together for a reason. Because these medications are both narcotics, their effects will stack. It is an extremely bad idea to mix narcotics. If you are taking Percocet for pain, and it doesn't seem to be enough, it is time to talk to your doctor. No doctor would condone the use of these medications together. Yes you can use them together. However the analgesia and euphoria associated with hydrocodone is much greater than that associated with Darvocet. (Most would agreee that the two aren't even comparable). Also, Darvocet has a more narrow therapeutic range, making it more dangerous in high amounts. Likewise, most hydrocodone containing medications (Lortab, Lorcet, Vicodin) also contain high amounts of acetaminophen, which can be harmful to the liver, especially in patients with liver failure.

Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant that most noticeably causes drowsiness. It can also cause you to feel somewhat 'relaxed,' but this is a very mild high at best. Darvocet can also causes drowsiness, as well as several more desirable side effects. Basically the cyclobenzaprine is going to put you to sleep. I personally would skip the cyclone and just go with the Darvocet. No one likes getting a good dopey high going only to pass out a half hour later.

Yes, I hope so. I would be willing to sign any form regarding heart issues to receive my Darvocet back. I too have tried multiple other pain meds, with no relief or was allergic to them. The Darvocet was not totally effective for pain, but was the best for my back and joint pain. I wonder why the FDA has not recalled Penicillin and some other drugs that cause severe problems, but they are still on the market.

Darvocet is Propoxyphene a very weak opiate combined with a large amount of Tylenol usually 650mg in Darvocets case the Tylenol usually provides more relief than the propoxyphene it is basically a useless drug.Hydrocodone or lortab is a stronger semi-synthetic opiate pain killer also combined with Tylenol.Both can be addictive so you should be careful

I just read on another site that the two in combination are not advised. There is a potential for an uncontrolled hallucinatory effect. I'm not a medical doctor, I'm just passing on the information I read on this site. Norco is, however, the stronger drug for pain and makes it unnecessary for taking the two drugs together.

no it shows up as darvocet depends on how detailed they want to get on your test if they dont get to detailed it will show up just as an opiate but they can specifically tell what you took if they want to get detailed hope this helps !@

Funny I should stumble upon this question. I have been taking Darvocet for approximately 3 years. I have a crooked spine which causes me daily back, neck and head pain. It's not bad enough yet for me to have surgery, but bad enough that I'm not benefiting from physical therapy. Therefore, Darvocet has been a life-saver for me.

I also suffer from mild "seasonal affective disorder". Around the beginning to middle of September (when the weather starts to get colder), I fall into a complete slump. Unable to get motivated, I feel like staying in bed all day. I also get rapid panic attacks at the onset of the changing of the seasons. Last year, my doctor prescribed Prozac for the S.A.D., and said that I could take it for the winter months and discontinue it once the fall and winter months were over. This worked wonders for me, and I continued using it until the end of April. The only downside to this was that I experienced a significantly decreased libido.

With fall rolling around again, I found myself back into the same slump as last year. I went to my doctor and asked him if there was something similar to Prozac that wouldn't affect my libido as much. He prescribed Lexapro. He did say that while this drug may also lower my libido, it shouldn't be as bad as the Prozac because the usual needed dosage is much lower.

I asked him how the Lexapro and Darvocet would mix, and he said that I shouldn't have a problem with the two as long as I'm not abusing either drug (i.e., taking too much Darvocet just to get "high". Which I don't.)

One of my main concerns with taking the Darvocet and an anti-depressant was the risk of "serotonin syndrome". It's when too much serotonin is released into the bloodstream, causing a whole range of unpleasant symptoms. I asked him about this as well, and he said that almost ALL of the cases of serotonin syndrome came from people who severely abuse medication, and that these two medications will not cause this when taken as directed.

The Lexapro so far has worked wonders for me as well, without the decreased libido. I've been taking it with the Darvocet and have had no umpleasant side effects. I hope the Lexapro works for you, too! Takes a few weeks, but it really does start to help...A LOT! Just take the Darvocet and Lexapro at prescribed levels and you should do just fine on it!

As far as I am concerned, my doctor has prescribed me anti-inflammatory (such as naproxen or ibuprofen) together with muscle relaxer (such as flexiril). Make sure the the dosage is not too high though. For example, I would take a 250mg naproxen (2 times/day) and 10 mg flexiril (3 times/day).
