Can you take amoxicillin with Darvocet?
Yes, but you need to be careful and aware that the combination of any painkiller with an antibiotic may make you drowsier than normal. Of course it all depends on your dependence/tolerance level of Darvocet dosage that you're taking. If you've been taking it for some time, then it might not be as bad. Still, you might want to consider taking it before you go to sleep depending on how drowsy it makes you feel.
Also be sure to take it with a lot of water. Depending on how much Darvocet affects your stomach, any antibiotic will normally make you queasy as well, so dilute it as much as possible by drinking a good bit of water with it when you take it.

Personal comments:
- I currently take 30mg of Vicodin per day and 20mg of Valium; however, you should not drive on this level of medications. Also, you should not take them together at the same time.
- I usually take 30 mg Vicodin in the morning to alleviate my pain and will take 20mg Valium about 8-10 hours later. I have a high tolerance to both meds.
- Neither medicine should be taken just to get high. Medicines are almost always associated with side effects and often they are serious side effects and some may cause death, especially when they are mixed with other medicines.
- Always ask a doctor before mixing these medications and see how they affect you before doing even ordinary tasks until you know how these meds will affect you.

I have used hydomorohone intraveineously and 10 mg Valium orally together without any problems but I would definitlely be very careful depending on your tolerance levels for each. I was doing 3 to 4 8mg pills through IV and only 1 or 2 Valium later at night to sleep.

Prochlorperazine may enhance the hypotensive effect (abnormally low blood pressure) of Darvon and hydrocodone. The benefits of combined use of these medications usually outweigh the risks and you should talk to your doctor if you have any concerns as dosage and timing do play a role in unwanted side effects.
Also both Darvon and hydrocodone are central nervous system depressants and the use of these two drugs together should be monitored. Some side effects may include, but are not limited to, ataxia, confusion, drowsiness, respiratory depression, and weakness. Since both medications have the potential to depress CNS function it is important to recognize that the risk of unwanted effects may increase with such use.

Oral Steroids are methylated and so is Darvocet meaning both must be passed through the liver in order to be absorbed by your bloodstream. Large dosages of both can become hepatoxic and cause liver damage and possibly failure. The most ideal thing to do would be to cut out the steroids while coping with an injury (if this is why you are taking the pain killers) or switch to an non-methylated (injectable) steroid.

I have a permanent injury and have a darvocet prescription. Without thinking I took a dose of my wifes hydrocodone cough syrup for a recent cold. I asked the above question because i take random drug tests for work and I am worried that it will show up. I already have opiates in my system from the darvocet so I'm hoping it will just show up as an opiate. Are urine drug tests so specific that it will show each and every drug or just the category such as opiates? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
Rest easy they both are opiates and will show up in a drug test as opiates drug test are not that specific they shoe thc,opiates,benzos ect... they show up as groups not as drug names your job is safe

Hey, not all drug tests are the same. some are more sensitive than others. The ones I had to take at a pain clinic detect the various different types of opiates. they can differentiate btwn percocet (oxycodone), vicodin (hydrocodone) TYlenol 3 (codeine) Darvoce (Propoxyphene) t, etc etc.
Can you take Darvon with suboxone?
No. The suboxone will stop the darvocet from working.
Also, combining darvocet and suboxone could cause respiratory depression (a decreased rate of breathing). If respiratory depression is severe enough it can cause death.

No. Hydrocodone (the narcotic contained in Lortab) is about 10-15 times stronger than Darvocet, technically. However the analgesia and euphoria associated with hydrocodone is much greater than that associated with Darvocet. (Most would agreee that the two aren't even comparable). Also, Darvocet has a more narrow therapeutic range, making it more dangerous in high amounts. Likewise, most hydrocodone containing medications (Lortab, Lorcet, Vicodin) also contain high amounts of acetaminophen, which can be harmful to the liver, especially in patients with liver failure.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) can cause liver damage and death in dogs.
Aspirin can cause life-threatening gastric ulcers in dogs.
Ibuprofen has a very high incidence of causing gastric ulcers in dogs and can also cause death.
