What is two phase protocol in a dbms?
In two phase locking there are two phases. The first phase is known as Expanding Phase and locks are issued in this phase. No lock is released. Then after change all changes are committed and the second phase starts that is the Shrinking Phase in which all the changes are noted and the locks are released. No locks are issued in this phase

What do you mean by electrical double wrapped cross joint?
An electrical double wrapped cross joint is just like an ordinary cross joint but double wrapped with electrical tape. It is used where two tap conductors need to extend away from the branch conductor in the opposite direction and is stronger than the ordinary cross joint.
Where are the function of selection and projection operation?
The Projection select certain column from the table and discarding the other columns.
The result of the Projection operation can hence be visualized as a vertical partition of the relation into two relations, one has needed columns (attributes) & contain the result of the operations & the other contains in the discarded column.

What is a Multi-user DBMS Architecture?
A Multi-user DBMS Architecture is one big system of users and queries. The use of these are to over look and execute plans safely and does not violate and integrity constraints.
Basically it was too top heavy. The king wanted three gun decks, so the ship had to be built higher, ahd with more weight higher up than was usually the case. So with too much weight up high and too little ballast the ship toppled over and quickly flooded the lower decks and sank.
Lock escalation is the process of converting many fine-grain locks, such as a row, into fewer coarse-grain locks, such as a table. Using lock escalation reduces system overhead.
In SQL Server Analysis Services, a cube is a structure for representing data across multiple dimensions. For example, an Sales cube might have Product, Price and Customer dimensions, and each Sale would be measured against each of these dimensions.
In SQL Server's T-SQL language, "cube" is an option that can be applied to the GROUP BY clause.
Integrity can be best explained by taking an example. Let us consider "A" is a user who wants to pay rs 500 to flipkart from his account but something went wrong during the transaction , if the integrity is enforced then the transaction will either occur completely or not at all.
There are commands in database two delete data. Delete command delete the data from the table. DROP commands delete the whole table structure along with its data. To restore the deleted data we can use roll back command.
There are two commands that we can use to delete the table or content of table. If we deleted wrong data by mistake , then we can restore it by using rollback command.

What is the purpose of using joins in database is normalization the only purpose of it?
The purpose of using Normalization is to avoid the data redundancy in tables. The normalized schema is much faster in performance so you can get a quick response from the database.
OLTP database designers follow the Normalization rules but the tables in Data warehousing(OLAP) data bases are in the De normalized form, they won't follow the Normalization technique. For this reason we are using more complex queries in Data warehouses which uses more system resources.
Some one might explain you better way.........

How many types of view in oracle?
There are two types of views in Oracle based upon from how many tables data are being fetched.
1. Simple view - In this view, data is coming from only one table.
2. Complex view - In this view, data comes from more than one table.
That's it.
However, Complex views have some limitations. For these follow Oracle documentation.
What are the different types of normal forms?
First normal form, second normal form, third normal form, fourth normal form, fifth normal form and Boyce Codd normal form. See the related question below.
How do you find the fifth highest salary in a table?
Way To Get The Highest Salary From a Table
To Get nth Highest Salary From a Table:
select ename, esal from emp order by esal desc limit (n-1),1;
To Get 5th Highest Salary From a Table:
select ename, esal from emp order by esal desc limit 4,1;
