If you are still in middle school or high school, it can be an issue. As an adult, it is not a problem.

Why is anyone attracted to anyone? You can list superficial things like hair color, body type, common interests, money, power or position, but someone can have all the things you would list as being attractive and you are still not attracted to them. Someone might only have one or even none of your list and for some reason you are.

If you are asking the broader question, why is someone gay? Because that's the way they are. Same reason for hair color, height, skin color and all the other things we are born with.

Perfectly straight men who have never considered sex can be and are attracted to other men. Wanting to be like them because of abilities or positions of power, good looks, lots of reasons.
