Depends on what kind of Datsun. If you look up videos you can find 280zxs, 240zs, and 280zs with Chevy big blocks and 350s using a conversion kit. If you were to put a v8 in these models, expect to go all out. You'll probably have to gut/ tune everything (replacing/ maneuvering motor mounts, the transmission, shocks & struts, brakes, wheels & tires, ignition, etc.) I.m.o. the 350 would probably your best bet.

I have an 2007 Versa. I had the same engine noise sounding like the solid cam lifter. I tried everything from synthetic oil to different oil filters with no luck. The engine is especially noisy when it is cold. After a year of putting up with this I finally tried 89 octaine gas and also put in a can of injector cleaner and after half way into the tank the car was running much better. During the second tank of 89 octaine the lifter noise went away. So much for Versa's running on regular gas.

It is pretty simple if you take one wire off at a time and replace that plug. If you already took all of the wires off and do not know, refer to your owners manual. Make sure you know which way your distributor is spinning.

I own a 1977 280Z automatic and the fuel pump relay is located above the kick panel on the right passenger's side floor in front of the door. You have to access it from under the dash.

Original engine was a 2393cc (2.4 liter, or 146 cid) inline 6 cylinder. Many cars have had their original replaced by a 2.8 liter from later Datsun/Nissans by now.

You can find a vacuum diagram for a 77 Datsun B210 in the car's owner's manual. You can also check with different auto stores.

In the USA, they came with 4 speed transmissions, or automatics. The 5 speed was not available in the US until 1977. Later 5 speeds are a popular upgrade to the earlier cars, though.

Well there are 3 sensors in my 1983 280ZX and I suspect it's the same with yours.

There is a thermotime switch, which measures the temp and sends a signal to the fan when the ignition is turned off I think. There is a water temp sensor. Then there is a thermal transmitter which sends the temp information to the dashboard in my digital dash. I really don't know how close this matches your 77 though.

I have a pair of 1980 280zx's 1 is stock 1 has a 60mm throttle body and I get average 29 mpg and 27 mpg the 1981 is the same L28 engine so should be about the same unless its a Turbo then I dont know and 1981 is the first year of the Turbo option

Checking my mpg many times for several years on my 1981 280ZX, I averaged 23.7 MPG. With the cruise control on 55MPH, I never approached getting 25MPG even when driving 100% on the highway. I don't believe the above poster, Arturo, is getting even 27MPG with his 1980 models, let alone 29MPG. I consider the 29MPG ridiculous. And no, I didn't have the "turbo option" on my 280ZX that Arturo mentions.
