In my opinion no because when you work by the hour you get paid for the hours you work. Some companies actually pay the hour that isn't worked. However, that's just an incentive, as most companies shouldn't have to pay for an hour you never worked. * I am a nurse and midwife and have worked both ends of the year and as far as I am aware you are paid the nominal length of the shift whether it is an hour longer or an hour shorter.
