It may be different in other story lines, but In his own origin story comic it explained that he didn't have any friends and his father didn't have best relationship with him. His mother also died in his childhood. In Smallville he had the same childhood story and he had a baby brother Julian who was murdered by his mother because she did not want to have another child, but lex made it look like he accidentally killed Julian so he could protect his mother from his father who is named Lionel Luthor btw. This caused the him and his father to have the bad relationship with each other. Note that in the comics, the Suicide Squad has gone through several iterations including a version where the squad was made up of heroic soldiers willing to take on suicidal missions to the current version where most of the squad are criminals who take on missions either in exchange for commuted sentences or for the psychopathic pleasure of being allowed to do violence with the blessing of the government. For the purposes of this answer I'm assuming you are referring to the Squad in the 2016 movie.

The "bad guys" in Suicide Squad come in 2 categories: 1) members of the squad and 2) those they are tasked to deal with.

Squad members who would be considered "bad guys" include:

Amanda Waller - leader of the Squad and pretty much a guilt-free sociopath

Deadshot - mercenary assassin

Joker - psychopathic arch-enemy of Batman

Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn - insane former psychiatrist assigned to the Joker who fell in love with him and lost her marbles at the same time

Boomerang - assassin and bogan from down-under who loves to use a variety of boomerangs and boomerang themed weapons for his "work"

Chato Santana/El-Diablo - repentant former gang member who can summon and control flames

Waylon Jones/Killer-Croc - supervillan whose skin has a reptilian appearance - nice set of sharp teeth too

A couple of other villains whose identities will be revealed when the movie is released in August 2016

June Moore/Enchantress - freelance artist June Moore who got possessed by an ancient magical being. Initially a target of the Squad - later recruited to join them
