Similarities of Death Valley and dead sea?

They are both below sea level. They both normally have extremely higher air pressure which means the air molecules are extremely dense and the air is really heavy. They both have higher temperatures then the surrounding land due to the sun hitting so many air molecules. They are both in a hot and dry climate. They also both have a high concentrated solution water source since they are like a bowl where everything sinks to it and that there is no other elevation lower than it. Death valley is usually a dried land but the only water source it has may be in badwater basin. The shores of the dead sea is much lower than the shores in the ocean. The water in the dead sea is so concentrated with solutes that it is much denser than a human body so that is why people can float on it. Water can usually never go out of the dead sea, the only way to get out is to be evaporated. If death valley and the dead sea were not so hot and dry they may be a bigger and deeper lake or lagoon.

What plants live in Death Valley?

To survive for a short period of time in Death Valley, we must find water - but our bodies can only process fresh water. People perspire, allowing the evaporating water to pull the heat away from our bodies, but then we must replace the lost water. It would be helpful if you had a sharp object, such as a knife, to cut open a cactus. Because cacti absorb water to survive, they will be full of fresh water. You will need some kind of container to retain this water.

Our activity can also be timed to avoid the hottest part of the day. We may share some habits with desert wildlife to beat the heat and dryness, but our real success comes from our ability to change our surroundings to meet our needs. We could try not to move around much or do lots of physical activity during the day, as we would very rapidly overheat and dehydrate. If a thin, white sheet was available, it would be a good idea to dig under the sand (where it is cooler and more humid), and lie there, with the sheet covering you. The light colour will reflect the sun and protect you from it.

It is important to remember that it becomes very cold during the night, and therefore it might be wise to act nocturnal to stay warm during the nights. It would not be a good idea to stay in self-made burrows or under the sand at this time, but rather stay on the hotter sand.

Of course, however good you are adapting to and surviving hot, arid conditions, we will never be able to survive as well as its wildlife residents. We would last, at most, a few days, and therefore without rescue it would be impossible to live there for longer than a month.

Is death Valley Desert the hottest place in north America?

Death Valley is a valley locate in the Mojave Desert, a very dry area. Death Valley has extremely hot summers with an average high temperature of 46,9 °C in July, the hottest month of the year. That extreme heat is due to the very low elevation, below the sea level which makes more column of air and more air pressure. A higher air pressure makes the air sinking more, and therefore more heating and drying by an adiabatic process. Also, Death Valley is situated between 2 mountains ranges, which adds a rain shadow effect.

Boiling point of water in Death Valley?

Like water anywhere (pending altitude, which isn't a factor here) it boils at 100oC/182oF/373oK.

Except altitude is a factor, since the boiling point of water varies by altitude and the barometric outside air pressure (which essentially adjusts the pressure altitude up or down). Although Death Valley is only 282 feet below sea level, that's enough to push up the boiling point by almost half a degree Fahrenheit, assuming the same barometric pressure.

Both are important, because people often memorise their "local" boiling point, so that they can make allowances in cooking, without realising that the "corrected" boiling point can also vary, depending on local weather. Similarly, many sources of local barometric pressures are given "adjusted to sea level," so both have to be taken into account.
