Is it normal to be given two antibiotics by your dentist?
It is only safe if at least one of the prescribing doctors knows what the other has prescribed also. Some antibiotics must never be taken together, and others can be taken together safely.
To be safe, ask at least one of the doctors about it. If that is not possible, at least discuss it with the pharmacist who fills the prescriptions.
Does it hurt to have a dental filling?
Well I'm 10 and five days ago I got two cavities filled on the right side of my mouth. iT WAS THE EASIEST THING EVER!!! The only thing I was afraid of was getting the novacain shot, and I shouldn't have been. Before your dentist gives you the injection, ask him to put a little bit of numbing cream or gel, on your gum. When he actually gives you the shot, you WILL NOT FEEL A THING!!! The only thing you will feel is a little bit of water on your mouth.... The only thing that may be a little achey is keepin your mouth open while the dentist "drills" Ps. It's not actually a drill, it's a little tube that blows really strong air and cold water onto your teeth... The only thing to watch out for would be not to eat for a little bit after you get it filled. It's not bad for your tooth, it's just that you might bite your lip REALLY hard and not notice it ( I did it a million times and now my mouth still really hurts) GOOD LUCK. :)

Smoking in general is a bad idea. However, my roommate did it with my vapor brothers vaporizer (step down from a volcano). It's all about how deeply/harsh you inhale in. As long as you smoking a minimal amount and suck gently you should be fine.
What is the cost for 4 wisdom teeth extracted?
I just recently had my wisdom teeth out and it cost about $250 a tooth.
Don't let cost get in the way of getting them out if possible. I was told to get my wisdom teeth out about five years ago and since I waited so long my wisdom teeth pushed up against the molars they were next to and damaged them so they had to be removed as well. I was also getting infections in them.
For me, the initial price (For just the wisdom teeth) was $2300. That's everything the anesthesia, removal, etc.
Fortunately my oral surgeon told me to ask the receptionists if there was any kind of payment plan or anyway I could knock the price down a bit. They were able to lower the price to $2237, which was even lower than the inital price for just the wisdom teeth alone!
Make sure that when you go to have your teeth removed you ask about a payment plan. Most people go into the health-care field to help people.

I made $80,000 as an apprentice for 5 years. First year $35,000 2nd year $56,000 3rd year $67,000 fourth year $78,000. Now on my own I make the same but I work a little less. With a full schedule I'd expect to make around $125,000. It's good money I get to make up my own schedule but it is physically a difficult job. Almost like an athlete you can expect to get banged up some days.

How much money does a dental hygienist make annually?
It seems that the national average salary for a dental hygienist right now (august, 2007) is about $30 an hour. This varies greatly based on geographic location (city/state). Most hygienists seem to be paid hourly, but some are paid daily, or salared, or paid a straight commission or a percentage of dollars produced. Benefits are all over the place ranging from no benefits all the way to full medical, full dental, profit sharing, 401-K, vacation, sick pay, holiday pay, etc etc. It seems that most dental offices will offer free or dirt cheap dental care to all their employees regardless of how many hours they work. Most jobs seem to be part-time, but it is usually flexible so you can work 2 days here and 2 days there pretty easily. Full time jobs are definitely out there, but at least half of the hygienists that I know work at 2 or more offices to keep their schedules full. In highly populated areas hygienists tend to make more, and on the west coast they tend to make more. Southern California hygienists are making $50-55 an hour (but cost of living is outrageous). In Seattle they can make $40-45 an hour. In economically depressed areas of the country hygienists are making as little as $18-20 an hour. I work full time (which is basically 4 days a week at most offices) and get full benefits and earn $36 an hour, which is pretty typical for my area. (Portland, OR)

How do you find a dental clinic?
Experience counts obviously, other factors are also very relevant. Does the dentist surgically place the implants and restore the final restoration? This situation indicates the doctor has a intimate understanding of BOTH areas of dental implant placement and restoration. This separation of procedures between multiple doctors is traditionally the conservative approach to how implants are still done. An understanding of both areas benefits the patient by allowing the entire procedure to be done by one individual doctor in one location. Also, the dentist placing and restoring the implants results in one individual placing the implants in positions of the mouth that will achieve the desired angulation and size that that individual needs for final restorations. Also, any problems that occur are the sole responsibility of one doctor. The patient will not get into a situation where the implant or the final restoration may have complications and the resulting determination of who is responsible for the complication and which doctor is responsible for the management of that situation sometimes puts the patient and in a confusing and undesirable position.
Dry socket is a layman's term for alveolar osteitis. The alveolus is the part of the jawbone that supports the teeth, and osteitis means simply "bone inflammation". It is a post-operative complication of tooth extraction. It occurs when the newly formed blood clot in the extraction site is prematurely lost or disrupted or doesn't form correctly and hence there is a delay in the normal healing process. Alveolar osteitis is a painful phenomenon that most commonly occurs a few days following the removal of mandibular teeth.(usually third molar) To avoid this, do not smoke or use contraceptives (oral contraceptive extractions should be performed during days 23 through 28 of the tablet cycle), don't drink through a straw, dont spit or rinse too much, and maintain good oral hygiene and keep the area clean with a soft tooth brush. Return to your dentist if you have a bad taste or smell in your mouth. I think that's about it. Hope it helps.

Around $1500 regular price. Depending on services. If you go to an oral surgeon without insurance to get your wisdom teeth removed, you will pay anything from $1200-$1500. You usually need to pay half the amount up front and then you can make payments.
I suggest you do what I did and go to the local college or university. I had mine extracted at UCLA school of dentistry and I paid only $130 total for all four wisdom teeth. They were professional and I actually had fun!
The cost should be the same, with or without dental insurance. In Canada, a wisdom tooth extraction, for a single tooth, can cost up to $350.

Is it normal to bleed 4 days after getting your wisdom teeth pulled out?
I had all of my wisdom teeth pulled 11 days ago and they told me that the bleeding could last from 1 to 24 hours. You should contact your dentist or surgeon if it lasts any longer than that. Mine only lasted about 12 hours, it was done by the time I went to bed that night. The pain was not bad at all, I was eating the same day. I kept trying to talk to my parents, but then I realized that the bleeding would never stop if I kept opening my mouth. The most important thing is to keep an almost constant pressure on the gauze so that it will help the bleeding stop and to change the gauze every 30 minutes or so. But don't be afraid to drink or eat stuff (if you can). My pain was not bad at all, I was eating the same day, and had mashed potatoes the next day. Hope this helps!!!
