The Sahara is a true desert. Safari Desert is not a desert. It is simply a term developed by the tourist industry to attract customers.

I live in a major city in a major desert and there are millions and millions of people just like me in the deserts around the world. Should I wish, I can attend a movie, a professional baseball game or other sporting even. I can watch live performances of major celebrities. I can tour museums, wander the mall, hike in the desert, climb a mountain, visit the zoo, picnic in the park, etc.

The vegetation of deserts is scarce because of the harsh conditions. Deserts are very dry and the lack of good soil and hydration makes it hard for many plants to adapt to the conditions. Of course, some plants - such as the cactus - grow well in hot, dry conditions, but as mentioned before, it's not a majority of the plant species.
