Can you just unhook your satellite dish and hook up your antenna with the same coaxial?

Satellite and terrestrial both use similar co-axial cables so it is probably fine to use a satellite cable for an antenna.

If the cable needs to be extended, be sure to use a suitable 75 Ohm co-axial connector to make the joint. Twisting the conductors together and taping them will cause problems.

Size of 42 inch tv flat screen?

I don't remember the exact aspect ratio, but I know that if your looking to buy one, it's well worth the money. especially if you are looking at the LED model, LED's are known to last a very long time.

Can you get a digital TV converter from in Dallas TX?

Yes, you can get a digital TV converter in Dallas, TX. Retailers are having difficulty keeping them in stock due to the high demand. However, they can be found at Walmart and Target.

You were thinking of buying a new tv but the one you want doesnt have a scart plug input so you were wondering if using a scart to usb converter and plugging that into the tv would work?

Scart connectors are a European video and audio standard for analog video signals. They have been commonly used as links between video recorders and televisions as they provide a single wire interface between the two.

The signals used in a scart connector vary but they can include composite, S-video, RGB and component video. All of them are analog signals.

Most new televisions do not offer scart connectors but the signals are almost always available on alternative inputs. Composite will usually have a single yellow phono socket (RCA socket), component will have three phono sockets S-video will have a 4 pin mini-din socket for example.

There are a range of scart adaptor cables that have a scart plug at one end and separate video and audio connectors at the other. Select the type that is needed and it should all work fine.

To answer the question specifically, a scart to USB adaptor sounds like a video capture device for use in a computer and is not the right thing to use in a television, even if the television has USB sockets.

Can water damage a television?

I'm not basing this answer on an intimate familiarity with TVs, but with electronics in general.

If a television is unplugged and gets a good dousing of clean water, or even gets submerged in clean water, any damage would probably be minimal, provided it has time to completely dry out. It is VERY IMPORTANT it be completely dry, because water is electrically conductive and if the unit is powered up with any water or liquid on the circuit you risk a short circuit somewhere, and a short circuit of this type would probably equal a dead TV.

If it's plugged in and powered up and gets doused or submerged...it depends. If the tv completely powered off, there is a "burnt smell" afterwards, etc. then you're pretty much assured that a short circuit occurred, and its time to start looking for another TV.

The main thing in ANY kind of electronics that have had water on it ( TV, cell phone, stereo, etc. ) is to allow it to thoroughly dry, and be patient. Removing any kind of battery immediately, if it has one, is very important also. Being hasty or impatient could cause an otherwise unharmed component to go bad, if there is still water inside it.

Water doesn't harm electronic components in itself, but the resistors, capacitors transistors and ICs in an electronic circuit have a certain voltage and amperage ( current ) rating, and when these are exceeded the component goes bad. So, if water is touching the the 110/120 volt ( US ) power cord connection inside the TV, it's plugged in, and it also spreads and touches ANY of the electronic components..you have an instant over-voltage and over-current situation, and ruined components. Capacitors can explode, resistors can become non-resistive, transistors and ICs can be instantly rendered completely useless. If at all possible, do a visual check of a circuit before you attempt to power it back up after liquid damage and look for any bad capacitors ( they will be deformed on top, or have white goop coming out of them ). If anything looks bad or smells burnt, DON'T power it up! Have someone with electrical experience take a look, or just get rid of it.

How do you switch video inputs on a ILO DTV2794 TV without a remote?

It's not possible to access the input selection area without a physical remote as the setting is not available from within the MENU setup.

There was no love with the dtv remote, even though it would do all the other controls.

I bought an rca universal remote for $6.93 at Lowes.

Model #: RCU703SPR

The ilo codes didn't give me what I needed from the input button, so I used the Emerson ones and one of those worked.

After you are able to power on/off the next thing you check is the input button, if it does not work, try another code...

Good luck!

Lost sharp TV password?

Stereo mono screen?

Most TV programs are now transmitted in stereo. If not, the TV will switch to a mono signal. Since you didn't say whether it was displaying stereo or mono on the screen while you're watching or if it's a choice in the TV's set-up menu, I can't say much. If you're watching, it's just letting you know if it's in stereo or mono. If you're setting up the TV, it's asking your preference. Do you want your sound in stereo or mono?

Can you hookup coax cable to cat 5e cable for tv hookup?

Very likely, but you might encounter issues. The cables will certainly connect up properly. However, a CAT 5 coupler is not rated for CAT 6 speeds and may introduce more noise. Noise translates into corrupted data packets, which might be noticeable as a slower connection (as those corrupted packets need to be retransmitted).

If I were inspecting a contractor's work at, say, my workplace, this would definitely not pass muster. (They'd better have a darn good reason for even putting in a CAT 6 coupler!) Bad installations can result in problems which are more expensive to fix later on.

That said, I've been using a CAT 5 coupler to connect two CAT 6 segments on my gigabit Ethernet home network for over a year (because I've been too lazy to actually replace the cable run) without any problems, including streaming HD videos from one room to another.

Does a digital pen convert handwriting to type?

it depends on the software you use. the majority of the time it does not come with the tablet or pen. if you use windows xp or erlier mac software, there is no program to do this with. if you are using windows vista or new mac software they have programs with them that will allow you to do this. i hope this helped.... im not personally familiar with mac, put im pretty sure OSX has the text recignition.

What are the three modulation techniques used for digital television transmission?

Three different modulating techniques are emploed to provide digital television (i.e. satellite, cable, UHF ) and these are known as DQPSK, QAM and COFDM. Each technique is a variation of phase modulation. QAM also takes advantage of amplitude as well as phase changes.

Who makes tevion 32 dvb televisions?

What kind of video card works best for burning DVD's on your PC from your cable tv converter box?

Typically, the most powerful and most modern gpu your computer can run. The two major brands of video cards are ATI and Nvidia.

Why can you not view some digital tv channels when connected through a VCR?

Your VCR does not determine what digital channels you will and will not receive, even if it a digital VCR. The type and placement of your antenna determines that. You may need to re-position your antenna to get certain stations. I would suggest you go to dtv.gov. (go to get help locally at the top of the home page and select dtv reception maps). From there put your address where it says enter location. From there you will be able to see which stations are still operational, post dtv transition, and where those signals are coming from in relation to your home, then re-position your antenna to pick up the channels you are looking for. Please remember to do a channel scan after re-positioning your antenna. If that still does not work, you may need to upgrade your antenna. Hope this helps. If you need any more help please let me know.

How can you get clearer pictures in the rooms without a converter box when you are paying for cable TV?

Sounds like you're trying to run several TV's from one cable box's RF output.

All you need to do is get an RF amplifier to raise the signal output from the box enough to overcome the losses in the splitters and cable you're using.

If you're using just basic cable, the same RF amplifier should work to boost the signal, and it should be placed where the cable is split off for the different feeds to the other TV's. You'd probably be better off putting the amplifier just at the first signal splitter.

To determine how much amplification you'd need, just add up the signal loss for each split (usually 3 to 6 db and also 3 db per hundred feet of RG-6 cable). Once you have the total, you need an amplifier just large enough to cancel out the losses. And yes, you can go a little larger with the signal gain, but not too much as you can also over drive the inputs of the TV. In this case, more isn't always necessarily better.

Why vertical scanning is required in TV?

All television images are built from a single trace that scans the screen from left to right and also from top to bottom. The first line of the image is drawn at the top of the screen. The next is drawn immediately below the first and so on until the complete image has been displayed. The trace then returns to the top of the screen and starts the process once more.

In the days of cathode ray tubes, the trace would travel down the tube at a continuous rate so the horizontal lines were in fact sloped down slightly as they travelled across the screen. This constant downward movement is the vertical scanning of the image.

LCD and plasma screens use the same signal but the notion of a vertical scan is less obvious. Each line is a discrete step rather than a smooth downward movement. In terms of the data stream that makes up the television signal, both horizontal and vertical scanning are present even though the displays draw images in a rather different method to CRT models.

Problem with your TV and the converter box?

To connect a digital TV converter box, follow these steps:

1. Disconnect antenna from TV

2. Connect antenna to antenna connection on Converter box.

3. Connect an antenna cable from the converter box to the TV's antenna connection.

4. Turn the TV to channel 3, turn on the converter box, and follow the setup menu from the converter box to search for channels.

5. Keep the TV on channel 3, and change channels using the remote control for the converter box.
