When an animal (or in this case a dinosaur) is able to survive changing conditions of climate is is known as adaptation. The ability to adapt or evolve is how any species survives, those who cannot adapt don't survive.Ê

"Mya" is an abbreviation for "millions of years ago." So "Dinosaurs lived 145 - 130 mya" means that they lived from 145 to 130 million years ago. However, although dinosaurs lived during that time, they first evolved 220 mya and the non avian dinosaur died out 65.5 mya. Avian dinosaurs (birds), still exist to the present day.

You would call it a dead dinosaur. You could refer to a fresh body as a dinosaur carcass. One that is only bones would be a dinosaur skeleton. However, you probably would never see the above. A fossilized dinosaur is called a dinosaur fossil.
