How did Doberman pinshers get their name?
The Doberman Pinscher was named after the breed founder, Louis Dobermann. The word ''Pinscher'' was added as it is German for Terrier. However, as the Doberman Pinscher is not actually a Terrier, the word ''Pinscher'' has been dropped from the name in the UK and is called the ''Dobermann'' instead. In other countries the name has stayed as ''Doberman Pinscher'' although the breed has very little Terrier blood and is not classed in the Terrier breed Group.
What is the Z factor in Dobermans?
The Z factor means that the doberman carries the gene mutation that forms albinism. It is notated by the letter Z in their registration number. Z factor dobies should not be bred together because there is a chance of producing albino pups. There are many agonizing problems that come along with albinism including skin cancer and premature blindness which will cause the dog to become aggressive towards all people and animals around it. Any reputable breeder would never breed to form an albino and would certainly not charge more for an albino than a healthy pup that is of a recognized color
Can you walk a Doberman in cold weather?
Yes, it's important that a poodle still gets it's excercise in cold or snowy weather, just make sure the outdoor exposure is kept to a shorter period of time if it is bitterly cold and that any ice or snow, especially in areas where snow melt or salt is used, is removed from between the pads of their feet. It also may help to keep their coat a bit longer cut in the colder months.
Who named dobermans dobermans?
The Doberman is named, after the person named Karl Louis Doberman who is credited with developing the breed.
How big can Doberman adults get?
The maximum size of a Doberman Pinscher is 25.2 to 27.5 and the weight being in the range 70-100 pounds, the size depends on how well it has been bred.
well it depends beacause if an owner treated a doberman badly then yes it can become an
extreamly dangerous dog.But if an owner treat's it well then it will not be as dangerous.
How old is a Doberman when they get there tails doced?
The typical age for a Dog to have it's tail docked is under ten days old. A veterinarian will advise on the best time to dock an individual puppies tail as it may not be strong enough to go through the operation or may be healthy enough to have it's tail docked earlier. This operation is now illegal in the UK unless performed on working puppies.
They shed....a lot. I keep mine between the laundry room and the yard during this time. I keep sweeping good little piles everyday. All dogs shed, some more than others. Although she has a short coat, they all have to get a new one sooner or later. These dogs shed about twice a year.
What can you do about your mini pinchers barking?
Dobies are descended from many working dogs, probably including Rottweilers, German Shepherds, and Greyhounds.
Why don't Doberman Pinscher's tails grow?
A doberman's natural tail is actually long. Many owners and breeders decide to have their tails docked (shortened) while they are puppies to give them the traditional doberman appearance. Also, if the dog is to be trained as a guard dog having the tail docked serves a purpose. During a physical engagement (fight) the dog's tail is more difficult to grab thus making it hard to defend against the dog.
What is the frequency and duration of a Doberman's heat cycle and does it vary with age?
Most dogs go into season, or heat, once every six months. This lasts for 10-14 days in most cases and the dog is receptive to mating at this time. Most dogs stop cycling at around 7 years old and start at 6 months to a year old. Of course, every dog is different but the average amount of seasons is twice a year. This should be consistant throughout your dog's life.
Are white Doberman pincher rare?
They are not. Some people think that there are no such thing as white ones. If you go on youtube and type in dogs 101 doberman and watch the video it tells you the colors and they said that there are no white ones. it could be a mix. dobermans are not mean because when i was a baby i grew up with one. she was alive before me but when she was 12 she got cancer and i had to put her down. her name was Brandy. but there's your answer!!!
There is no such thing as a white doberman. There are albino dobermans but it is not a color. It is a gene mutation that causes many painful problems for the doberman and ultimately leads to agressiveness and their premature death. Any reputable breeder would not attempt to purposely breed for an albino and would not try to sell you one for more than a healthy pup of a recognized color
What is the maximum jaw pressure of a Doberman?
1400 lbs per square inch
One of the things that disturb me most and get me angry are "sceptical attitude" and "ignorance".
1400lbs is the bite pressure of an ALLIGATOR, not a dog!
In the canine world the bite pressure (tested by National Geographic with electronic machines) ranges from around 200Psi to 500PSi...
The Strongest bite is the English Mastiff, around 500Psi...
Then comes the ROTTWEILER with an average bite of over 300 PSI and then the others... Funny enough PITBULLS have the LIGHTEST BITE among the dog involved in the test.
Dobermanns BITE PRESSURE for sure is in the range between 200 and 300 PSI.

What is more dangerous a husky or a Doberman?
Dobermans are great guard dogs for their alertness, intelligence and loyalty. They can be agressive dogs when provoked. The typical pet Doberman attacks only if it believes that it, its property, or its family are in danger.
Very energetic and intelligent dogs. Not considered a good guard dog because of its personality characteristics and gentle temperament. A 2000 study of dog bites resulting in human fatalities in the U.S. found fifteen such fatalities (6% of the total) were caused by "husky-type" dogs between 1979 and 1997.
Both dogs are on the top ten list of dangerous dogs but husky's are closer to the top of the list.
A descendant of Borong the Warlock
The Warlock Doberman
The "Warlock" Dobermans are also known as "Kings" or "Goliaths" and are not really a true Doberman breed.
Their existence stems from a surge in demand for "big bad Dobes" back in the 1970's. It is widely believed that Dobes were bred with Great Danes and some other large breeds to satisfy the demand.
Today the term Warlock is applied to the poorly bred and oversized dog which does not conform to the breed's standards. The original "Warlock" was a dog named "Borong the Warlock." Borong was breed in Florida in the mid 1950's by Theodosia and Henry Frampton
So where did "Warlock, and the other over-sized Dobermans come from?
The so-called Doberman variety can be accounted for by one of two scenarios: a Doberman cross-bred with a larger dog (thus accounting for the Warlock's abnormal size) or two large Dobermans bred to beget pups which are out of standard for their abnormal size. In either case, the litter is not worth purebred prices or consideration when showing.
The name "Warlock" comes from an actual dog.
Borong the Warlock was born in the mid-50's. Borong was not abnormally large; in fact, he won a number of shows including Westminster ('52 and '53) under the handling of Henry Frampton, his owner. Borong could not have done that if he were as large as 110 pounds, the weight of some of these warlock monstrosities. Dobermans should weigh about 70-73 pounds to be within standard size.
Borong's name, however, became irretrievably linked with super-sized Dobes when Texan breeders who bred his descendants began breeding for size.
For twenty years, various traits, such as a lock of hair, large size (or small size accompanied by great strength), or even a certain facial expression, were supposed to indicate a Warlock. There was no standard for what a "Warlock" really was. It originally meant a descendant of Borong, but it came to mean a large Doberman.
By the 1970's, Dobermans became extremely popular in the US, and as with any fad, people wanted more varieties. Like clothing fashions, consumers wanted different types of Dobermans. Popular myth fed this craving, and "Warlock Dobermans" became a fad. There is no widely known kennel club in the world that currently recognizes "Warlock Dobermans" as a variety, such as giant poodles are to standard poodles.
Because of that decade's Doberman over breeding, many "Warlock" Dobermans have been whelped to date which have no blood relationship to Borong the Warlock. Unscrupulous breeders have tainted Borong's reputation by cross breeding great Danes with Dobermans and passing off the pups as "Warlocks." The REAL Warlock, Borong, was a purebred.
These breeders also disservice the Doberman breed as a whole by carelessly deviating from the standard for Doberman size and exploiting people's lust for "bigger, better" dogs. Instead of buying monstrously sized Dobermans, these folks should simply buy a different dog. Charging purebred prices for these mixed-breeds is also dishonest. There's nothing wrong with owning a mixed-breed dog; however, buyers should not be fooled into pay too much for a mixed-breed (or out-of-standard) dog.

What is negative of selectively breeding Dobermans and rottweilers together?
because
------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT BELOW
------------------------------------------------------------
They are actually both from the same parent breed, the doberman having been crossed repeatedly with greyhound to make a faster, dog for taking down fleeing subjects, while the Rottweiler is a defending dog which is built to stand it's ground and not allow an adversary to get past it to whatever or whomever it is protecting. Both dogs can be vermin (rabbit, rat squirrel) aggressive and individual dogs within either breed can be cat aggressive or not depending on their personality and upbringing. Neither dog is generally livestock aggressive unless intolerably raised by ignorant people.
The resulting dog will be a blend of the characteristics of the parent animal. The distinct differences between the two breeds can come out as a hodge podge.
DOBERMAN (bred for guarding and human "population management")
1. Inflexible "greyhound" hip allows faster running
2. Leaner, tightly muscled body can run fast
3. Tighter greyhound skin to prevent skin being grabbed
4. Shorter hair to prevent being grabbed and pushed off
5. taller lanky build
6. developed for long running take down fleeing human beings (yes really)
7. smaller, more narrow greyhound head
8. leaner jaw for snatch and snap biting (quick deep damage, take off fingers, inflict pain) They have a strong jaw but are better off in groups when it comes to pinning an intruder.
9. Rapid mouth attack with strong snapping, pain inflicting, wounding intention.
10. Can be very high strung and constantly stepping about like greyhounds often do.
ROTTWEILER (bred for guarding cattle against wild animals and driver work)
1. Fully flexible hip allows a fully human-like upright stance for higher jumping
2. Bulky powerful muscles for
3. Lose skin folds to protect against attacked by a pack of wild animals
4. Short shaggy hair, provided protection and padding and warmth in rough terrain.
5. Compact, burly build for powerful, short distance charge, stand its ground and block aggressors
6. Developed for stamina, strength, ability to turn quickly and climb over rough terrain.
7. Broad mastiff head
8. Large, powerful crushing jaw intended to grab, stop, shake animals attacking a herd. This jaw in tended to break bones and cause serious damage during a fight or hold onto another animal's throat and not let go until it is no longer a threat.
9. Slower mouth attack with more powerful bite with intention to tear and break.
10. Sure footed, stable stance, patient and laid back dog.
Okay, so you cross them. You could get a heavily muscled dog with a tiny snapping head, a massive headed skinny dog with a snapping jaw (hilarious looking). A well-muscled dog with a greyhound inflexible him and mid-sized head and a mediocre cross snapping/crushing jaw that does both about the same. I've seen several of these crosses. Only rarely do they produce a good looking dog. Most look pretty ridiculous and although they have a good temperament, seem a bit identity confused.
The cross can, however, produce a dog that is a faster, less high strung, less aloof mid-range dog, which is nice. Usually the build of the dog will be someone between both breeds. Which characteristics come out of the mix is a complete toss up. And whether the dog ends up looking disproportionate is also a toss up even within the same litter. But it is not a bad cross.
