and hopfully you may be able to find out some clues or if that's will be a problem make sure your dog isn't violent...... Because when u get the police involed which you should they will say somthing like " the dog started to attack me " and make up lies..

Mutts are dogs that have been bread from two different types of dogs. For example a pug and a beagle equals a puggle. So technically a puggle is a mutt. But people call stray dogs mutts just because they are scavengers and what not.

Your dog may urinate on another particular dog to show ownership. Nothing. I have heard pouring some water, or cold water on the male where they are locked at may help..but to be honest, the best thing to do is just leave them be and let them work it out. Trying anything to get them apart may only cause more pain to the male or female, and cause them to freak more and hurt the other.

I did a science report and these are my findings: I have found that the dog I.Q. tests have hard, medium, and easy activities. The test Couch Play, for instance, involving dogs to reach under a couch or other large object displayed much difficulty. 11 out of 23 dogs used their paw. Get it Outta Here!, Just Smarts, and Jjuusstt Ssmmaarrttswere also harder activities. The tests Obstacle Course, Follow the Leader: TugboatStyle, Cover Up, No Balloon On Me, House Remodeling, and Smile! were relatively easier. Only one dog did not receive credit for Obstacle Course. The two medium activities were Fridges and Videos and Big Puppy Towelie. 12 dogs failed the Fridges and Videos activity, half and half. In conclusion, I have found that there were more high female I.Q. scores than male high scores. Therefore, female dogs are smarter than male dogs. (Which, by the way, is going to State Science Fair [Calif.], which, by the way, is tomarrow.)

However they shouldn't, because the things in it (like fat & nutrients) that help a puppy grow will make a full grown dog get fat quickly. It would be like eating candy non-stop.

Is your dog small & white by any chance?

Add: Small dogs & especially white ones tend to have allergies. That's usually what chewing at the feet is about. If it's allergies it's more than likely a food allergy. As for the food issue- you need to stop babying him as it will only make matters worse. Put the food down & walk away. Don't leave food out all the time. No one wants to eat stuff that's been sitting out all day, including your dog. Get him on a schedule. You can start by offering food 3 times a day. Add something special like a dollop of canned food, chicken broth or plain yogurt to each meal. If he's not interested or when he walks away, put the food up till the next scheduled feeding time. He will probably miss a few meals but stay with it & he'll catch on. When he's eating well cut back to 2 meals daily. Be realistic about how much you're expecting him to eat. Depending on activity level etc. a general guideline is 1 cup per 20 pounds daily.

The posted "food" evaluation link can be helpful, but you're better served by finding a quality breeder/trainer of your dog breed and simply asking them what and how they feed and when they change diets.

It's probably a typo but the "rule of thumb" cited is horribly wrong. Please don't ever feed one cup of food per TWENTY dog pounds a couple of times a day. Four-1/2 cups of quality food for an 87-90 pound working dog (Hard dogs / War Dogs that can run/work all day -- which is the top of Male German Shepherd breed standards) mixed with supplements (treats) could KILL the dog via too much protein leading to kidney failure or make him/her unusable in the field.

Pups require different diets than more mature dogs, which are healthier on a different diet than elder dogs (I've 30+ years working with Helping / K9 / and War Dogs).

I also enjoy Cesar Millan's Dog Whisperer program but any competent trainer will advise that you're only seeing a fraction of how these dogs are actually managed to correct behavior problems. It's television, for heaven's sake.

Re: Allergies, and the rest of the post it's pretty much right on in my experience with the exception that many allergies are turf related, like the kind of grass the dog is typically on or the areas for working dogs in which you're training. Many Vets manage it simply with a periodic cortisone injection.

Sometimes, too, talk to a good breeder/trainer (often better than your Vet who has a financial interest in pushing a particular brand) and you may need to put your pooch on a bland diet (like rice and hamburger in transitioning to a different food).

They itch because they have fleas... Or food allergies, or didn't get all the shampoo rinsed out of their fur, or are allergic to mold, or are allergic to the feather pillows on your bed.
