Every four hours for pee breaks for five minutes, plus say a fifteen minute walk once a day around the block for the first few months. You need to be patient, they have very little legs. ^^

When older, a half hour walk twice a day is good. (plus pee breaks)

Milkweed is toxic but I don't know of any dogs that were interested in eating it.

It depends on the type of chocolate and the weight of the dog. The smaller the dog, the worse the reaction. The higher amount of cocoa, the worse the reaction. So, a 5 pound dog getting into a small amount of baking chocolate could be deadly and a 50 pound dog getting into some hershey kisses could produce nothing more than diarrhea. If your animal gets into chocolate, contact a local vet or the ASPCA. only a small bite of chocolate will not kill a dog but large sums of choclate can hurt your dog so watch out

If your existing dog already has separation anxiety, it MAY help to get another dog. See if you can borrow a neighbor's dog to come over for the day and see how your dog reacts. YOu can also try doggy daycare. However, with most dogs it doesn't seem to help that much. In addition, if your first dog is not trained, you now have 2 dogs to worry about. I would not recommend purchasing a second dog simply because your first dog has separation anxiety.

If you considering purchasing 2 puppies/dogs at the same time I would also be very careful. Despite having to do twice the training, 2 puppies often bond a lot to each other. This sounds like a good thing in that they are less likely to have separation anxiety when you leave, however they often bond so much with each other that they have bad anxiety when they are separated. If you do decide to get 2 puppies at the same time, then make sure you separate them a lot so their bond is primarily to you and not each other.

Definitely not. You need to take the dog to a vet immediately if he/she is limping.

Yes they can but they will definitely let you know it is discomforting. Check for swelling against the good leg and compare. Any sign of swelling is a good indication somethings broken-or sprained. A vet will be able to do x-rays to tell the difference..

The first major cause would be a urinary tract infection - this can be confirmed or ruled out with a simple urinalysis at a veterinary clinic. At the same time, the vet can look for evidence of bladder stones and some types of bladder cancer. For dogs there are two cornerstones to treatment for pancreatitis, control pain and control fluid and electrolyte disturbances. If these two things can be accomplished the prognosis for living through the pancreatitis improves a great deal.

if it is a chew toy then they will but if they are stressed out they will chew on any type of furniture, so you should talk to your vet if your dog is well trained and is chewing on things that he/she shouldn't be.

My best guess it to establish dominance. I had never seen it before we got our German shepherd/black lab puppy and she does it to our larger female shepherd mix, as well as me and my children. She hasn't tried it with my husband and has already established herself as the Alpha-female, even though she's half the size of our other dog. That's our only guess, it makes the most sense, as she is a very dominant-type dog.

Well it depends on what scratched it and where did it get scratched at. If it is a big dog it is most likely that it will not hurt,and a little dog (any breed) it may hurt,but like I said it matters where and what scratched the animal. If it is a big scratch, you should take it to the vet. Also if it is bleeding.

I don't know the answer to this question but my dog has a preference of who she kissed. She will only kiss me, my sister, my brother in law, and my boyfriend.. She will not kiss my dad and he's technically the one she obeys the most. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it but I do notice she picks and chooses the people she shows her affection too.

It can depend. Sometimes they are saying, "Give me more attention and love!" Sometimes they are saying, "Let me out I need to use the bathroom!" and maybe saying that they are hungry or thirsty.

Not unless the puppy is very very sick and even then, most diseases a puppy can get are not transferable to humans. Canine to human pathogens are rare. The benefits of a puppy /child relationship far outweigh the dangers of the child ever getting sick from interacting with a puppy.
