Some dogs are just spooked like humans can get in the dark. Also, your dog may hear or smell something you can't see. I use a sensor light in the doggy run for my dogs and as soon as they go through the doorway to out into the doggy run the light automatically goes on. I also stand at the door until they do their business. Sometimes they'll bark while out there (could be a cat or a raccoon) and that's what dogs do. I give them the command to come in for fear of them waking up the neighbors. Try the sensor light and just stand at the door. A few times of this (leaving the door open if you can) and your dog will get over the habit.

you could get your vet to check it out and spent thousands of dollars OR it might be a problem with your dogs anal glands. this happened to my dog and i just changed her food and removed her anal glands (well the vet did) and she was a new dog!

It really depends on each individual pets situation. They can become withdrawn, seemingly lazy but in fact cannot move, thirst, sleepy or lack there of, breathing difficulties of various types, not eating, lose weight, bathroom habits change or cannot control themselves, or even develop sores that do not heal on their feet for example. You will be able to tell if you look into your pets eyes and see..........

Dogs do not sweat like people---makes you wonder why they stink. Their only mechanism to cool themselves is to pant. Somehow this cools them.

I'm wondering if this dog is a golden retriever? I've seen goldens do this. To the dog his dish is associated with pleasant things, mainly eating. It could be his own subtly way of asking for a treat even though he has just eaten. It's also cute and he picked up on how this behavior pleases the people around him. Sounds like a smart dog to me.

Every dog is different and individual. The general rule is that it is during the 2nd week that a female will accept a male and allow breeding.

However, some dogs will allow it during the first week of their cycle, so yes, it is possible.

(If it was female, the story wouldn't end there, it would START there) c) Just have to go to the vet for vacunation. I have a male dog, and my cousin a female dog, we've compared the cares each needs and found out it is cheaper and easier to have a male dog!

Well you could call a company and have them put wire right inside about 5 inches on the inside of the fence so when it goes by the fence the dog will get shocked. You could also put the fence really deep in the ground.

It is natural for puppies to bite. They don't have hands or fingers, so they explore their world with their mouths. A puppy's mother and siblings can help teach him not to bite.
