A PUPPY cannot have puppies. It is simply cruel to let your puppy ( a dog under the age of about 1 depending on breed) have puppies of her own. It is possible though. Smaller dogs who can usually be bred earlier then bigger breeds have their first season around 6 months, it is possible to breed her then, but she is likey to die during or before the birth and her puppies will most probally all die too. It is safest to wait till her second or third season. The age of 2 and over is a safe and responcerble age. Bigger dogs grow more and therefore mutuare later. A large breed should be at least 3, at this age will probally be on her 3 season.
Yes they CAN but I agree they shouldn't.WHY NOT DUMDY UGLY LOSER BOY OR GIRL
What age can a yorkie female first mate?

Can sleeping pills harm a puppy?
You should never give a dog a medication that is intended for a human, and sleeping pills for a puppy is an extremely dangerous idea. Depending on the type of sleeping pill and the size of the puppy, the effect could be at least a very sick puppy and at worst a dead puppy. As a pet owner you have a responsibility to protect your puppy from harm, and this would certainly harm him and would be considered animal abuse. If you want your puppy to sleep well, take him for a nice long walk.
Can smoking around a newborn puppy be harmful?

In an unsupervised environment how do female dogs choose which dog to mate with?
I think the male has to come along at the time she is ready to mate, and it does not matter if the dog is older, younger, or related. Dogs have a natural instinct to mate. Dolphins are the only mammal other than humans to mate for fun!!
How do I rid puppy of maggots in its tail?
You take that puppy to the vet as soon as possible. Maggots usually live on things that are decaying, so the puppy obviously has either an infected wound or has worms.
How can you get a mixed breed of dog without breeding?
You can get a mixed breed puppy si ply by looking in your local pet stores. A good place to look for specific things like that is on eBay.
You can buy this breed if you don't want to breed your dog with another. if you don't want to buy one and your dog is de-sexed, find a person or a breeder that you know and see if they can hook you up with a puppy. although that is not the best solution, you should really buy one as they are very cheap compared to pure-breds and pedigrees.
you must realise though that mixed breeds can be a little ferral or different from other dogs because of their parents or type of breed it was mixed with. check with the breeders or the vets first before you adopt or buy a mixed puppy or dog to check if they are the right breeds to mix with :)

How do you care for a puking puppy?
Those are the keys to helping your pup through the situation.
If it JUST started today, ok. Im not one to judge but the vet sounds like a good idea sometime soon if you already did not do that. Be careful if the dog was just born or still the size of a small or average sized stuffed animal. If the pup is still that little too frequent loss of water(Urination and Vomiting etc.) can quickly lead to dehydration and if that happens its not the best of situations. If you are not going to go to the vet. I would strongly advice you to make the pup gets lots of liquids. A small dog/pup will dehydrate quickly if your not careful. Expect to pull an all nighter caring for he/she, you being around will help to calm the nerves if you just keep stimulating the pup by touch and a very quiet-soft voice. Rub its ears, rubbing a dog's ears helps stimulate digestive processes and helps produce saliva which will keep the throat moisturized. Lack of fluid will cause a more puking if throat becomes dry and/or sore(Best to do first before trying to get the pup to eat/drink anything)
I cant emphasize how strongly you need to keep track of Foods and Water ingestion. Water Water Water Water. Dry Dog foods might work in absorbing some of that churning and rolling goo in the stomach. Soft foods are easier to digest but also easier to come up.
If the pup decides to urinate, watch for the color to be a dark-moderate colored yellow/orange. I hate to tell you but if it is a dark shade of orange or yellow, hold your nose over it until you can smell it, don't wanna put your nose in it..... If you can smell it and it has a abundant stench of Ammonia its a sure fire sign of Dehydration or Dehydration in the process. Still in the best interests of health to get water down as much as possible.
Light colored vomit(presence of phlegm). Phlegm is a very good thing to get out of the system, even if it was out by regurgitation. Phlegm just serves to gag(which no doubt induces a dry hurling episode), block the esophagus, and bronchial pathways(Tubes that lead to the lungs). Water here is also a very nice thing, dry hurling only serves to damage the esophagus(temporarily discomforting and can make puking extremely painful over time). Dry hurling can trigger the stomach to start producing larger amounts of acids because the pup already puked up what ever was in there. The stomach will seek to take the pH back to 1-2 in the shortest time possible, this will just hurt the pup by upchucking an extremely acidic fluid. If you are noticing any pain(usually extreme recoiling and muscle spasms) you will know when you see it. ALOT more convulsing and visible discomfort during a vomiting episode than normally. If this happens, find a base that he can drink, milk might upset the stomach but it will lower the Ph of any acidic substance lining the esophagus, mouth, and will reduce stomach discomfort if extreme pain is visible.
If the pup has trouble breathing(wheezing and constant hacking or choking[choking can have many causes] not related to gag reflex). Stroke the back across the shoulder blades, stroking across the back above the chest cavity can help to stimulate him to push out any foreign substances. Usually phlegm produced as a immune response from the lungs to catch then expel foreign bodies->(anything not absorbed by the lungs, food, toys, small objects, dust etc...) and bacteria
As for the matter of helping the puking subside, there is not very much you can do yourself other than be there and be the center of comfort. Touch and calm soft reassuring voice are the most soothing, avoid moving suddenly as it will probably startle the pup.
Im am no vet by any means, but i do own 12 dogs...Each have had at least a pneumonia, upper respiratory infections or simply a compound illness.

Dogs can be "locked" for up to 20 minutes with no ill effects, so anything less is okay.
What can you do if your parents won't give their consent for you to become emancipated?
If the minor resides in a state where parental permission is required for them to be emancipated and the parents are opposed to the action, emancipation is not possible. Even in states that do not require parental permission the parent(s), legal guardian or an "interested party" (grandparent, counselor, teacher, etc.) can file an objection to the emancipation and present testimony as to why it should not be allowed. The legal procedure for the emancipation of minor is not a simple process as is sometimes claimed; it can be expensive and complexed. The few states that have established emancipation statutes also have exceptions included, such as parental permission and legal representation being required and so forth. Even if the minor meets all the requirements the decision belongs to the presiding judge and very few judges grant emancipation decrees.

Do dogs eat their puppies while whelping?
Yes, in fact they can. It's rare, but sometime a "maiden" dog will not recognize her young as they are being born. Also, the dam will have a strong instinct to chew more than normal on the umbilical cord. This can result in the dam chewing on the legs of the puppy. In very rare cases the dam can continue on and eat the puppy. Dams who have undergone a C-section, who are also maidens, will not relate to the puppies for about 24 hours, they may very well want to kill them. Part of the reason for this is the anesthesia and the disorientation that results from it. This is seen much more in Terriers and other dogs with a strong prey drive.
When I help whelp a litter, I take the puppy as it is being born and break the sac and tie off the umbilical cord. I dry off the pup with a small, rough towel to stimulate it. Once it's viable, I place it in a shoebox lined with a towel and lay a thin towel over the box. I do not let the dam have the puppies until they are all born and things have settled down.
Do not let any other dogs in the area while whelping a litter, nor after the pups are born. Other dogs in the household may very well kill the puppies, too. This is not as much of an issue once they are over two weeks old.
