One of their clients was Del Shannon and the Royaltones backed Del on many of his recordings between 1962 and 1964, including big hits like "Little Town Flirt", "Handyman" and "Keep Searchin'". That's a question that is likely impossible to answer, for several reasons:

1) In 1504, "drummer" wasn't a profession. In Europe and Asia, there were musicians, and those musicians sometimes played percussion instruments. But there were no "drummers."

2) Even if there were drummers, there was no such thing as a prevailing wage anywhere in the world.

3) As the question completely fails to specify a locale, it becomes even more impossible to answer. The cost to hire a musician in France could be completely different than the cost to hire a musician in Japan.

Talking drums were played with the palms of the hand and beaters were not used. Some other variations of traditional drum have curved beaters. the reason for this is that when the drum is played while it is carried, the playing surface (or head) is too high to use straight beaters or sticks. Hence the curved beaters.

I think for a beginning 8 year old, if he/she is serious about starting, a 5 piece kit would be sufficient. I've had the pleasure of playing with some incredible drummers and there isn't really anything you can't do with just a 5 piece kit.

Rudiments. Work on ones that you aren't good at. Look at Tommy Igoe's Lifetime warmup if you can find it. You should also practice sight reading by going through old materials you have, or buying some random easy-ish books for cheap. They don't have to be percussion books; all you have to do is read the rhythms.

Right, first things first, every one thinks you hit with the rubber end, BUT YOU DONT! You hit with the other end, you hold the rubber end. You just play them as normal sticks aswell :).

There have been many electrical problems with the Jeep Cherokee - I haven't experienced it with my 2002, but my brother in law had a ton of electrical problems with his 2000 model.
